Spice Season

I discovered this place on Eat 24, and ordered in from there many times before I actually set foot in the establishment.
While the food is fresh, delicious, and flavorful, not to mention organically and ethically sourced, do yourself a favor and actually dine in. The ambience is cozy yet modern and aesthetically cohesive, without evoking the kind of IKEA showroom hipster trendiness that will inevitably grow stale. They also play lovely music, at least the times I’ve been there (No Kenny G, audiotorture K-​Pop, and, most importantly, NO TAYLOR SWIFT. GOD I HATE HER. I cannot eat with that shit on.)
I highly HIGHLY recommend the green curry. Bummer it doesn’t come with rice, but throw down the extra four bucks for the brown rice if you’re feeling fancy and have yourself a flavorful but healthful meal, free from the stodginess you’ll find in other curries. The Arnold Palmer and pomegranate mint tea are lovely complements to any curry.
Highly recommend.
The Aloha curry is also delicious if you like a sweeter curry. Keep in mind that they all err on the spicy side, so if you’re not into that, ask for «not spicy.» It’ll still be mildly spicy.

WOW! Why have I not heard of this place until now? We went last night after Chinese New Year celebrations at the Americana (me, hubby and our adventurous 3 yr old daughter).
To be honest, we were a little worried because despite the rave reviews, the place was empty (not usually a good sign!) but once we were seated, we noticed the phone ringing off the hook — so I guess most people take the food to go.
Every single dish we ordered was super flavorful while still feeling light. Even though we completely ordered too much and stuffed our faces, we never got that heavy coma-​like feel you can get when eating rich or greasy food.
The tofu was lightly fried and crispy on the outside, while tender on the inside… served with to-​die-​for sauces! Their grains (mixed brown, red, & black rice) were delicious and toothsome. Noodles perfectly cooked. Their sauces perfectly balanced with a ton of flavor. Teas & juices were fresh and refreshing.
One of the chefs walked past our table and our little girl gave him two beaming thumbs up! (I like to think that made his night!)

Let me start off by saying thank god there was parking — something extremely rare in this area.
I loved the design of the place; it was calm, down to earth and cute. The theme was very homey and cozy despite the pictures making the place seem bigger than it seems.
Although I only got to try the pad thai and vegetable soup, I definitely recommend both. They weren’t as oily as you’d expect in average thai restaurants which really impressed me.
Going along with the tips — yes try the pomegranate mint and cinnamon lemonade!
There was nothing outstanding about the PM but it was refreshing and the cinnamon lemonade can be summarized as funky. A good funky — very different and unique and weird, but the kind of weird that reminds you how average your daily cycle is…
Overall I definitely recommend and will be back! Don’t forget to check in for free tea/​dumplings

This place used to be great but recently quality went down. For example: potatoes used in the curry have large dark spots and you can just tell that it’s is old.

One of the more unique thai fusion places that I’ve been to in LA. One of my friend has been here a couple times with her boyfriend and a bunch of us decided to drop by on a Sunday night. It was surprisingly quiet with only 2 other tables of diners that were sitting in the restaurant.
All the severs were extremely friendly to each other, but as a result neglected the tables because they were too absorbed in their own conversations.
The ambiance is pretty decent, a rather dark setting with candles. The interior design is simple and clean, which in my opinion was rather pleasant.
The food itself was quite interesting, and most of the dishes we had had a very nice thai twist to it, so it was very pleasant. I particularly loved the satay quesedilla, which was an interesting combination of thai and mexican food. Combined with the peanut sauce it was hands down the best dish of the meal. The other dishes that we had included their Pad Thai, Pad See-​U, Curry and Heaven Scent (which was a mixture of chicken and vegetables). They were all decently yummy, but I didn’t really think it was too special.
Dessert was really good — we ordered a french toast slathered with thai milk tea paste, which made it a very sweet and delicious end to the meal.
Would come back here again, but really hope that service picks up its speed and servers should really wait until restaurant closure to be distracted.

Really amazing Thai food, I loved it!

It was a rare cold and gloomy day in LA so I was looking for some healthy comfort food! I had the veggie soup, and my friend had the coconut soup along with fresh spring rolls and jasmine tea. Such amazing favors! Veggie soup can be so bland but they use spices and roasted garlic to compliment perfectly the fresh al dente veggies. The coconut soup is much richer with the perfect marriage of coconut, ginger and lemongrass broth along with a generous amount of chicken or shrimp and mushrooms! A must try!
The spring rolls are so fresh and perfect alternative to a salad!
Plenty of free parking and great prices!

LOVED THE FOOD. The service was good and fast (but then again they were not that busy). The lady who took our order was very nice and attentive.
The place looks clean and neat. I just dont like the shopping center that they are located in.
Lets talk about the food… I was very pleasantly surprised about the food. The seasoning was amazing. If I can, I use soy souce for everything, but the flavors were so good, I did not want to mask it with soy souce.
I had ‘beef Basil’ and my husband had «broccoli beef»
The beef was seasoned very well on its own, not counting the seasoning they put on top. It was very tender and juicy.
I definitely recommend this place, and we will be coming back.

Let me preface this by saying the food was tasty, but it’s the wait time that drags it down to 2 stars… I ordered a large tom yum soup, a green curry, and a side of rice last night at 7:18 pm using the mobile app that the website encouraged me to download and order from.
At 9:13, nearly two hours later, my food finally arrived.
After I ordered, I got an email saying that my food would be delivered around 8:18 (an hour after I placed the order). At 8:20ish, I checked my bank account and saw that my card had indeed been charged for the food (meaning the order had gone through on the app). I called the restaurant to check on my order and at first she told me that there was no order. When I spelled out my name a second time, she found it «way in the back of the order queue,» as she explained… I was STARVING at this point, so I didn’t cancel the order. I didn’t want to fight about reversing the charge — I just wanted food.
So it finally arrived. I wouldn’t have tipped the delivery guy, but I had to do that when I ordered my food at the start — really glad I gave him 15% for a two hour delivery time… Needless to say, the food wasn’t good enough to ever wait 2 hours for again. There are plenty of other Thai/​fusion restaurants that will hopefully get me some dinner in an hour or less…

Went here on Monday on a recommendation during a road trip, and I was glad that we did. The most memorable parts of the meal were the Sri-​Racha Style Noodles, the cinnamon Lemonade, and the Satay Quesadilla. The interior has a really neat and cozy décor which comes with these stylish cork menus.
Contrary to what other people have said, I didn’t think the wait was too bad: the food came pretty fast, at just the right intervals giving just enough time to taste each dish before the next one arrived.
Also, the manager is friendly! I had a brief conversation about how he invented the cinnamon lemonade and it seems like he puts a lot of thought into making each item interesting. Would recommend!

Found this place on Unilocal and it’s everything I was looking for! I was craving good Thai coconut soup and i was not let down! The soup here was amazing! It was freshly made, You can taste all the flavors in every ingredient! We also ordered the green curry and it was just a fresh as delicious as the coconut soup! The customer service was superb and the atmosphere was cozy! This is truly a hidden gem!

Not only did our delivery order take over 2 and a half hours but the food we got was made incorrectly as well. The Pad Thai was made ignoring the special instructions. The 11.99 steak came with what looked like half an order and for a grand total of $ 30 Me and my wife are sitting here still hungry.
PS the steak was dry

The food is pretty good, but is it worth the wait?
Very understaffed and the restaurant is dealing with a good problem: they get too many orders and cannot handle the volume (told to me by one of the staff).
All around me I saw tables of patrons who were waiting prolonged periods of time for their food, asking when the food would be ready, pickup order customers waiting and continually being told «ok sorry 10 more minutes.» And then after 15 minutes or so; «oh sorry another 5 minutes», etc.
We were told it would be 40 minutes and it took 1 hour and 20 minutes to get the food we ordered. The orders came out 15 minutes apart and the first beef dish was cold. Also, one member in our party ordered a chicken dish and they brought out a completely different beef dish. But we accepted it bc we didn’t want to wait another 30 – 40 minutes for our food.
It’s true the online ordering systems can be tricky (the orders were coming in electronically and flooded them) but the restaurant needs to make more efforts to keep customers happy if things are going slowly. Ex. Not just saying «I’m sorry the food is coming out right now» and then us waiting another 20ish minutes for a single dish to come out. Or, perhaps offering a free drink while the patrons wait if the wait is much longer than expected. These types of gestures would’ve made me feel as though the restaurant cared about my and the other guests’ experiences.
It was nearly impossible to get any service while we ate and our water glasses were empty for about 45 min.
Because of the mismanaged timing expectations, cooking the wrong meal that wasn’t ordered, etc. I requested a 20% discount off our meal and explained these things and they gave us a 10% discount saying it was the most they could offer.
After we closed out and were leaving, I spoke to some of the staff again when I was leaving, I mentioned some similar complaints on Unilocal and how customers don’t feel treated as well sometimes and that I would write a review of my experience. Then, the woman/​mother said «ok we can give you the 20% discount.» I declined since we had already closed out the bill and tipped and honestly it didn’t feel very genuine since we were denied earlier despite explaining why we felt a discount was deserved.
My personal experience was that despite the food being good, it wasn’t worth the wait and frustration.
My rating isn’t 1 star because of 2 reasons:
–the food was pretty good (except first dish with beef was cold when it came out)
–they did provide a small discount on the meal
I share this in hopes the restaurant staff finds better ways of managing the volume and taking care of its customers. It’s a family owned restaurant and they seem like nice people. It’s just a shame that the good food and good intentions couldn’t make for a good dining experience because of the way they handle restaurant management.

(2.5÷5) Dine in. Was so hopeful with all the great reviews. The food was good, but took over an hour to get it.

It was slow, very slow.
From when we sat down to when we ate was over an hour. We spoke to them after and it seems they can’t control their online ordering system so they continuously get order online (probably cause they are highly rated) and they were overwhelmed to the point that they had to call and cancel orders and eventually turn people away, while we were there for a while.

Issues we had.
Besides the hour wait. Managing expectations would have been good, because if they told us it would have taken over an hour to get food we probably would have went somewhere else (They had several empty tables so our expectation is we would get food quicker not longer than if we had waited 30 mins to eat somewhere else). Also, the mother told us our food was just about to come out several times which only made us more frustrated when it didn’t. They also messed up our order, wrong dish (and we also over heard them mess up two other customers order as well — 1 sit down who received a meat dishes when they were veterinarian and one to go, wrong dish).

The food was mostly good.
They have interesting teas that was pretty tasty.
The Turmeric (yellow) curry was very good and would like to eat it again but not sure I’ll come back.
The rice was a bit old tasting or drier style, and one of our dishes came cold, which to me is very bad but the person eating it was ok with it.

I might come back, I might not. Not sure yet, but if you do just make sure you got plenty of time to kill.

Wow the food is so good. Good thai food is hard to find in the valley. The food, service, and ambiance is awesome. I really recommend! Try the steak and the flat noodles! Oh yah thy give you a members card for free soup during lunch. Thanks Nida!

Let me tell you this just come to this place ASAP but be careful because your going to eat eat eat and not stop

When this restaurant first opened up, I was a little bit skeptical of how it would do because in previous years, restaurants haven’t lasted for more than a couple years. However despite that pattern of bad luck, I believe this one is going to stay for a lot longer than the curse says so. The food is definitely up to par and what’s great about this place is that they use all natural ingredients (grass fed meat galore). They are great option for vegan eaters, too!
The place itself feels cozy and it has a very peaceful ambiance which is ideal for a great dining experience.
The service was fast and efficient and our waitress (her name is on the tip of my tongue) was very sweet.
The menu has a variety of options, but not too many that would overwhelm you.
All I say, is to go give it a try, and get some of their lemonade!

What a sweet little flavor haven this place is! It’s nestled in a strip mall, so hard to spot if you’re driving down Ventura Blvd. in Studio City. But it’s well worth the stop.
I ordered the beef salad and the lemongrass soup. Quite possibly too much of a flavor overload, considering both the salad and the soup are outrageously tangy, but I didn’t care. I loved both dishes.
The beef salad is just perfect in every way — the meat is tender and moist and the dressing is spiced just right. The soup, too, was just perfect — very lemongrassy!
Service was warm and accommodating and the place is very, very clean and zen. Prices are quite reasonable.
I will be back.

Aloha curry is the bomb at this spot.
They’re a fairly new restaurant but they’ve worked through the growing pains. Good stuff.
It’s also close to my office so the convenience makes it even better.
Great food at a great place. Nice variety and friendly staff.
Eat here when you’re in the area looking for some Asian fusion.

This review is for delivery. Delivery came within an hour as promised. We got two Pad see u noodles; one with chicken and the other with tofu. The chicken one was delicious while the tofu one was just OK because the noodles were a little undercooked but the vegetables in it were great. The mango sticky rice, pomegranate mint tea, and Thai iced tea was really tasty. I would order from here again.
