Sam A Lavi, DMD

I have been a patient of Dr. Lavi’s since 2000. Unfortunately I moved to Texas and haven’t found a Dr that compares. He and his staff have an excellent ability to make you feel comfortable during your procedures and cleanings. I am even debating flying back to LA just to get my teeth fixed! Thanks for being an excellent dentist! Highly recommended dentist

First of all I hate the thought of the dentist and I have major anxiety! Major! I haven’t been to a dentist in a long time. I was referred by two people close to me and I’m so glad i finally went to Dr. Lavi. I’ve had a lot of work done, fillings, extractions, caps, root canals, and braces (twice!) so I’ve been to a LOT of dentists. Dr. Lavi and his staff are by far the sweetest and most gentle people. They call and check on you the next day, they ask how you are at every step. Along with a Cap (They do this on site, you don’t have to go back because they make it there!) and a deep cleaning, he took one of my wisdom teeth out today and i was so scared! It was literally less than 2 minutes, no pain and I didn’t even know it was out until he told me! Even the recovery hasn’t been that bad. I’ve had a really really GREAT experience here and i truly recommend them to ANYONE! Especially if you’re scared or hate the dentist, because at this point I’m not even afraid to go back because i trust that it won’t hurt and he does an amazing job!

Dr. Sam Lavi and his team do wonderful work! My entire visit to Dr. Lavi’s office for a cleaning was pleasant and comfortable. Danine explained pricing clearly, gave input on X-​rays needed, and was patient throughout the scheduling and paperwork process. Dr. Lavi spent time to carefully do the exam, talk through what he was doing, explain his observations, and give excellent advice. For the cleaning, Dr. Lavi used an ultra-​sonic scaler that cleaned painlessly, thoroughly, and quickly. The dental assistant, Tommy, was gentle during the polishing process and communicated well. My visit to Dr. Lavi’s office is the first completely painless dental cleaning I have experienced. If you are in need of a dentist, go visit Dr. Sam Lavi.

This dentist office is great! The staff is friendly and gives you personalized service. Dr. Lavi is wonderful about explaining procedures before and during the process. He made me feel comfortable and I trust his advice on what is the best option for my dental work. I was referred to him by a friend and so happy that I started going here. I would definitely recommend him to my family and friends.

The most efficient and wonderful experience I’ve ever had with a dentist. I literally had this done just hours ago and felt the need to leave a review.
I had a loose crown and called a few places and was told «it would be x amount for a consultation visit, and we can fit you in around 4 to 5 days from now»
I called here and Sandra (bless her), said «We’re in studio city today, can you come in and we’ll fit you between patients so you don’t accidentally swallow your crown.» I went and after filling out forms was asked if I’d like to get full x-​rays as well since it had been a while since last cleaning. I said sure, and while talking to the person cleaning my teeth mentioned that I was looking for a night guard/​snore mouth guard.
This is where it gets insane, instead of having to make future appointments, they literally were able to fix my cavity, take the impressions for a professional sleep device, cement my crown, clean all my teeth, and all for less than what I was expecting. The entire process was so streamlined and easy!
They did this all in one visit, that wasn’t even on their schedule. I’m still amazed at how efficient and good they were.
As for the actual service, it was perfect, the chair was very modern and comfortable, I barely felt the filling, and the crown is back in place without them having to do anything extra to fix it.
I don’t often write Unilocal reviews but this place really deserves one. My gf will be going to this place in the future, and I feel good that I have found my dentist for the rest of my time in Cali.

It’s been months since I visited Dr. Lavi for some emergency work, but this must be said. He and his office staff are top notch! Definitely a Five Star experience. I absolutely recommend this Dentist!
My wife found Dr. Lavi’s office one morning after I experienced one of those oh-​oh moments during breakfast. While eating some toast, I suddenly chomped down on something hard and felt something wasn’t right. Half of my molar broke off! How the hell does that even happen?! Luckily, I felt very little pain but knew I had to take care of this. I didn’t have a dentist. I hadn’t been to one in years. I brush, I floss, I don’t need a dentist, right?! Well now I did and I dreaded what kind of hell was waiting for me at some strange Dentist Office. Let me tell you something. The visit and the experience couldn’t have been easier and the office staff was extremely welcoming and friendly.
I had to have a crown molded and crafted to fit over my new tooth-​stump. Dr. Lavi discussed with me what happened, clearly laid out my options and offered real advice that was both professional and personal. I even decided to have my first cleaning in years since I was there. I’m a big fan of the helpful numbing gel to just make the poking and prodding go easier. Anything to help me forget that I’m in a Dentist’s chair. Within days, my crown had arrived and Dr. Lavi put that baby in perfectly on the first try. I couldn’t be more relieved and thankful.
Dr. Lavi is the real deal and the experience was really pleasant, painless and easy.

I have a lot of dental work to be done and I’m about halfway there thanks to Ora who deep cleaned, cleaned, and polished my teeth and Dr Lavi who is slowly fixing my teeth. I went in for a chipped tooth (which he fixed perfectly) and found out I needed a lot more work. Woops. He’s working slowly and carefully and I’m not in a ton of pain. They honestly care and the office manager Sandra is just lovely. Thank you guys, you’re the best dentist office I’ve been to hands down!

I just wanted to update my review. Prior to this year, I hadn’t been to the dentist in quite some time, so I had a bit of work that needed to be done. I’ve had a couple more visits since my last Unilocal review. I had my teeth cleaned, I had a couple of cavities that were filled, and I had to have an extraction and an implant done. Dr. Lavi and his assistants did everything they could to make me feel comfortable, relaxed, and pain-​free. Dr. Lavi, his receptionist, Sondra, and his entire staff are all so friendly and extremely professional. The office is always very clean, and parking is always easy. I stand by my original statement that this will definitely be my dentist for many years to come. I’m not going anywhere else. :-)

This is the first time I’ve been to this office and I absolutely love it. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Lavi is professional and gentle. This is for sure going to be my permanent dental office. :)

Just went to Dr. Lavi two days ago. I found out about them by chance as I walked past their office downtown. The office was very clean and professional looking. The staff were friendly. Since I was in need of a new dentist at the time I decided to continue my care at his office.
Dr. Lavi is very nice and doesnt try to encourage you into unnecessary procedures. I tried out another dentist (just for the convenience of the office being around the corner from my house) while I had been seeing Dr. Lavi. The dentist said I had several cavities that would require $ 3,000 worth of dental work that Dr. Lavi had not detected only 6 months before. I went back to Dr. Lavi for a 2^nd opinion and he saw nothing but some minor staining, but no tooth decay. He’s clearly not out for your money like some others.
He showed me an old filling that was decaying and made sure I understood exactly what was going on instead of just talking at you. They are expensive, and i dont have dental insurance, but in my opinion getting cheap dental work is not the best idea.
I would highly recommend him either the downtown office or studio city!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Lavi at the Studio City office for at least 5 years. He’s honest, gives you your options, and doesn’t try to upsell down your throat. Very personable, his staff is friendly, and his office hours are great.

I’ve been going to Dr. Lavi for about 11 or 12 years, and he is hand down the best! Highly recommend!

I came across Dr Sam through of all things 1800 dentist. He is fantastic. As a total dentist freak, I am really nervous of the dentist. I found him to be calming, gentle and very communicative. If your a nervous nelly this is the man for you.

To cut to the chase, I walked into the office in tears and walked out singing.
Being a student and not having a dental insurance sucks. I used to go to someone I knew because of the cheap price, and my frugality lead me to total dismay. My 80 some years old previous dentist used a decades old X-​ray machine that bombarded me with radiations AND he still did not catch the giant cavity. I had no idea I had a cavity until I started to feel like the left side of my face was falling off and a part of my tooth broke off.
Dr. Lavi is my best friend’s mom’s favorite dentist so I decided to go to him. Born with bad teeth, I have been to lots of dentists but I have never been treated this cordially from any other dentists and their staffs.
During the last month of my three visits, Dr. Lavi never rushed and always made sure that I felt the best while getting the treatment done. I told him I was a poor student and he treated me the same lol He talked to me casually and didn’t just do his job and left. Other than recommending what was the best, he never scared me into getting more than I needed right now. It was two cavity jobs and an onlay. He told me I can go to a dental school to get the minor cavity work done. Now that I call honesty and professionalism. I felt really comfortable being there the whole time. I actually called another dentist to ask how much they charged for the same treatment, and I paid much less at Dr. Lavi’s.
His digital X-​ray machine only uses ¹⁄₁₀ of radiation than regular X-​ray machines, so I was less worried about the exposure. Alex the dental technician calmed down my radiophobe by kindly explaining that.
Sandra at the reception desk always called me in her happy voice to follow up with me and to give me the best appointment time that goes with my hectic schedule. She is a great lady. I forget other staffs names but they were all very kind.
Three times being there (once in LA, the other twice in Studio City), the whole experience was very pleasant. I am so glad I can finally eat normally now!

Dr. Lavi is a wonderful DDS who takes good care of you and makes suggestion to improve your physical looks with his Dentistry. He just replaced 4 of my crowns and they look beautiful, they are as white as he could possibly make them and still blending with my own natural teeth.
His staff is efficient and personable.
