1st Choice Cleaning

I have used their services before and it was OK, which is why I’ve repeatedly given my business whenever I needed cleaning. HOWEVER, today was the worst! I had an appiontment at 1pm, so by the time 2pm rolled along, I called to inquire on their status. No answer on either phone number, the latter being a full mailbox. So I decide to text. I finally get a hold of someone and she tells me that there was an error in inputting my appoitment (something about using a coupon, which is why no one was dispatched). After telling her that I wasn’t using a coupon, she said she’ll try and find someone and call me back. What I got was a text saying sorry but there isn’t anyone at this hour.
WTF??? So I’ve been sitting and waiting for nothing… and I didn’t even get a phone call but a rather lame text!!! I shoot back a text and I get another response saying sorry and that she’s still trying. When I do get a phone call back, she said no one could come out. I don’t know if she offered to pay more for her crew to come out here, but I’m screwed.
I guess I’ll be calling all around to see if anyone can come and clean.

These girls aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get the job done. I’ve got a doggie door with animals running in and out, tracking all kinds of business. But the floor was spotless. They cleaned under tables and in between each wood shutter. They showed up on time and were very kind.

I’m one of those that bought a Groupon for them (two, actually) when they had the $ 59 for 4 hours of cleaning deal. Seemed like a great deal. There’s a couple reasons why I’d never go back to them, and I recommend you avoid them as well.
After several calls (no one picked up for several times) I reached someone and made an appointment for a cleaning at 10 AM on a Wednesday because I wanted to surprise my wife with a clean place before she came home from a trip that day.
At 9:30 AM, I got a call saying the cleaning crew had a break down in their car, and also needed to drop somebody off in Beverly Hills, so they’d be there by 10:30. Fine, my wife’s plane wasn’t getting in until a little after two, so that should be ok.
At 11:00, no one had showed up. I tried calling both numbers for the company and no one picked up. Called again at 11:15 and left a message. Called again at 11:30, finally someone picked up. At this point I was running too close to the time I needed to get my wife, so I asked to cancel it.
To her credit she apologized, and said she’d really like to keep my business; she said they had a cleaning crew of at least three, maybe four, in the area who (she got off the phone for 30 sec or so to confirm, it seemed) could be at my place by 11:55 at the latest. I said are you sure? Because I need to get my wife from the airport. Yes, she said.
By 12:30, no one had showed up. I called and asked for a refund on the Groupon, they took my email address down. Thankfully, Groupon refunded the cost of both Groupons.
My time is both limited and precious to me, and I need a certain minimum of reliability when I work with a company. I appreciated the call the first time, as things happen. But no one showed up for almost three hours, and no word until I called the company (and it took multiple times at that). Maybe the cleaning is fine, but I’d recommend you look elsewhere.

I hired them to do a move out clean of my studio apartment. 2 hours, 2 cleaners for $ 72
I made it very clear it was to be cleaned so the landlord would have no argument that the place had not been professionally cleaned. I requested special attention to the bathroom area and kitchen floors.
I scheduled them to clean (today) at 9 am. At 8:10 I got a call saying there was an «emergency» asking if they could come at noon instead. This really messed with my work day but I said I would meet them at the location at noon.
I got a call at 11:30 saying they were at the location. I told the dispatcher I was on my way but had been told noon after having an 9am appointment. They said that was fine and the cleaners were waiting outside. When I arrived no one was outside. I called the number the dispatcher had called me from again to say I was there and no one was outside. Almost 10 minutes later the cleaners arrive. I let them into the apartment and asked them if they or their boss could call me 20 – 30 minutes before they finish so I could head back over from work. They started a little before noon and pretty soon 1:50 rolled around and no call. I called the number back again and no answer, plus the voicemail was full. I sent a text as they instruct on the VM to get a fast call back. I decided to head over anyways and 10 minutes after leaving got a call saying the cleaners were done. I had made it clear to them to call 20 – 30 minutes before they would be finished and had explained that I needed time to drive over from work. Anyways I arrive and they seemed upset it took me the 20 – 30 minutes to get there after they had finished. I find that very unprofessional after rescheduling my appointment, not being there when I arrive or calling me when I ask.
They did an OK job cleaning. I wasn’t wowed by it. They didn’t clean the medicine cabinet or do a very good job on the spanish tile floors I have in the kitchen which I requested get special attention as I had told the dispatcher when I first hired them.
I would not use them again. There is a reason they are so cheap. Next time I’ll shell out the extra $ 50 for a more organized service who listens to what the customer wants.

They did a good job cleaning, and accommodated my request to clean within the next 2 days because my Grouopon was about to expire.
Yes, as everyone says no one answers the phone, but I did get a reply phone call within a few hours. And yes, they do seem a bit unorganized, as they asked me to text all my info (address, name, Groupon #), but then asked me for the same info again verbally because she gets too many texts and didn’t know which one was mine. So yes, they are administratively-​challenged.
But, the cleaners showed up 15 min early, and stayed for the full 2 hours. They cleaned 2 bathrooms, kitchen (even washed my wine glasses & the coffee mug that I have her coffee in, the inside of the fridge, appliances) living room, dusting, vacuuming, and I specifically asked for my windows to be cleaned which they did. They also cleaned all the floors without me asking.
No one will ever clean as well as you can clean your own home, so I didn’t expect miracles, just a good old-​fashioned cleaning, and that’s what I got.

I am shocked at the mediocrity of this business. Groupon seriously needs to NOT offer deals for them anymore. It makes them look bad.
The cleaning lady was nice enough and they stayed for 2 hours but when I returned home I noticed they didn’t even vacuum or mop the floors. Im sorry isn’t that standard practice when you clean? I walked around to see what they did and it was nothing major. They dusted (poorly), cleaned the bathroom and wiped down the kitchen counters and sink. How does that take 2 hours? Im sorry but if you want to win me over vacuum and mop my DAMN FLOORS!
Oh and when I calld to complain her question to me was «Are you planning on using us again?» as if she wanted to see if it was worth her time to even try and make me happy.
Do everyone a favor and DON“T give these people business.

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!
We should have done our homework before purchasing a Groupon for their cleaning, but we decided to just wing it — BIG mistake.
They were 9 hours (NINE. HOURS.) late for the first cleaning. And they only showed up because I kept calling and calling to find out what the problem was. I was lied to repeatedly — I was told «They’re 15 minutes away,» a least a dozen times.
Shouldn’t have asked them to come back (we had 2 Groupons), but we had a house party and needed the house cleaned quickly. Another HUGE mistake.
I asked them to dust our office, which includes computer equipment and a large microphone. I should have stood there while they cleaned it, because apparently they knocked the mic set-​up over at some point and now our mic is totally wrecked. It cost well over $ 1,000! Of course, now I can’t get them to call me back. UGH!
Do yourself a favor — find ANYONE else.

I had an absolute NIGHTMARE of an experience with this company! They are hands-​down the WORST business I’ve ever had the misfortune to encounter!!!
I was pleased to find out that they were very near to me and I had also bought a Daily Deal coupon, but it all went downhill from there.
The maid that was sent, Martha, either had a leaky cleaning bucket or else she slopped the water with the strong cleaning agent over the side, because she left a big bucket ring on my carpet that appears to have permanently damaged my carpet. Also, when she cleaned the bathroom tub faucets she only cleaned the tops-​when you turn the faucets to the side to turn the water on, they’re dirty!
I could go on and on, but the worst of this has been trying to resolve the matter. 1^st Choice has repeatedly LIED to me; twice I have been told they were sending the Martha back to fix these problems, but she has never shown up. Each time the company’s office person, Tiffany, has lied about the reason why no one has ever shown up or called me, and my last call went unreturned… My last dealing with them was on July 2^nd, when I received a response to an email I had sent the company; it was from signing himself?/herself? as «M Judah, Manager», though I suspect it was actually the owner.
In the response M Judah promised to send out their «best» cleaning crew today, 7÷5÷11 at 1:30 to fix all these issues. The email also apologized and tried to blame it on the long weekend. The end result? NO ONE SHOWED UP, NO ONE CALLED!!!
In my opinion 1^st Choice Cleaning is an unethical and deceitful company with a substandard level of service.

After a month of unanswered emails and calls, the company finally refunded me $ 32 (they said it would be $ 35) for my spoiled food and general dissatisfaction.
A representative just called and left a message basically saying that I need to update my Unilocal review because I only had a $ 5 bag of lettuce in my refrigerator and didn’t deserve a $ 35 refund. Classy.

You guys Rock! They did an amazing job with my apartment, the cleaning crew was professional and friendly. Highly recommend using these guys;)
I am very happy with this service and will use them again.

LOVE these guys! I bought the Groupon and when I scheduled my appt (it’s true, they did not answer the phone when I called, but they returned it within 5 minutes, so I’d say that’s pretty good follow up!), they asked me if I’d rather have 4 people for 1 hour instead of 2 people for 2 hours. I said yes, and was very, very pleased with the results.
The team of 4 arrived around 20 minutes early Saturday morning, which was fine by me. We had them clean the kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom and office, and they were fantastic! They do dishes and laundry upon request, and in my opinion they perform every requested task thoroughly. They were friendly but professional and focused on their tasks until the hour was up. They asked us to inspect before they left and when my husband asked them to clean the floor in the office one more time, they politely obliged. By the time the hour was up, our home was clean and fresh!
I liked the results so much that I booked them a second time at full price. This time they sent 2 people for 2 hours, but the results were no less impressive, if not more so. The shower in particular was sparkling clean (they removed every water spot from the glass doors), wiped the walls down without us requesting, and even wiped down the stainless steel trash cans in the kitchen and bathroom. They arrived on time, quietly worked for 2 hours, and then made sure we were happy with their services before wrapping it up. This is an excellent company and they do a great job, don’t hesitate to book them!

I haven’t cleaned or bothered to have clean my house thoroughly in at least a year, I figured it was time for spring cleaning =)
I had no problems when calling or scheduling an appointment. They showed up on time and thoroughly cleaned my bathroom, kitchen and living room all within their two hours. They got the good majority of dust and grim that had been accumulating over the past year. Much more than I anticipated to get done in the time I paid for.
I plan on calling them again to come and finish things up =)

Worst cleaning ever.
Purchased a half price Groupon. $ 59 for two people for two hours.
They showed up 90 minutes late. Did a lousy job cleaning my condo. Workers refused to clean the walls.
Place still needed a good cleaning.
I would never use this company again.

HORRIBLE! WHY?
1. They don’t answer their phone!
2. When they finally returned my call, the lady was rude — she sounded like she hadn’t slept in weeks and didn’t care to listen to me.
3. Should have known better by 1 and 2 but I scheduled them anyway.
4. Got an appointment — GOOD LUCK! They didn’t show up!
5. When I CALL to follow up, they said that they had my incorrect number, I asked her to repeat it and she HAD THE CORRECT NUMBER! She said that they could not find my address and I call BS! She said that I SHOULD HAVE CALLED AHEAD OF TIME and confirmed the address and phone number… UGHHHHHHHHH!
Keep in mind, this was crunch time as I had a walk through with my landlord that afternoon. UGH!
NEVER EVERRR AGAIN! Worthlesss!

They showed up at 4:15 for a 5:00 appointment. They said they were told 4:00 which means they were late, anyway. In four hours they cleaned two bathrooms (that I still had to touch up) and did a sorry job in the kitchen. That was ALL they did in four hours. I have never been more disappointed in a cleaning service in my life. It was a complete waste of money.
Take a look at their website, it’s about as well done as my apartment was clean:

here were my issues:
1) no one ever answers the phone, it always goes to voice mail
2) my appointment was at 12pm, and the lady didn’t show up till 2pm
3) the lady shows up late, forgets her vacuum, goes back to her car, drive somewhere to get it, then come back
4) nice lady, but she was über slow!!!
5) she couldn’t reach alot of places due to height, so she couldn’t wipe down or clean alot of windows or shelves above a certain height. fine, i get it, some places are hard to reach, but don’t you guys bring small collapsible chairs? i would assume not everyone would have furniture or dining chairs where they’ll allow you to step on with your shoes to reach a bookshelf?
6) after she left, the very next day, i went through and had to reclean all the spots she missed. yes, it was quite a bit of spaces. the fireplace was missed. the wine bar was missed. the window tracks were missed. the window sills were missed. you get the drift– and the list goes on.
this was an absolute disappoint! she ended up not cleaning the floors because she said she didn’t have the appropriate cleaning agents and would use water. i told her to forget it. she also ended up not cleaning quite a few things in the kitchen, as again she had no cleaning agents.
bleh, would absolutely not use them again!

Certainly NOT my 1^st choice.
–They showed up an hour and 15 minutes late.
–The «hour» they were here was only 45 – 50 minutes.
–A few minutes of that «hour» one of them was on the phone.
–They only had time to clean 2 bathrooms (2 people for an entire hour).
–Their idea of cleaning the bathroom involved dirtying the rest of the house (they swept the bathroom dirt into the main part of the house and didn’t clean it up, they spilled ajax on the kitchen floor and didn’t clean it especially a problem because we have a dog, etc.)
–Upon closer inspection of what they cleaned — there is still tons of soap scum on the tub, they didn’t touch the bathroom mirrors, and there seems to be some sort of residue left on the floors from whatever product they used.
The only good thing that I can say is that they were able to schedule me very quickly and on a Saturday.

I hired 1^st choice to do a move-​out cleaning, and everything went well. It isn’t often you can say that.
The lady they sent showed up on time, had all the supplies needed, and did a careful thorough job. After a stressful move, I can’t tell you what a relief it was to let someone else handle the cleaning.
I’ll be using this service again in the future.

USE 1ST CHOICE CLEANING AT RISK OF HAVING YOUR POSSESSIONS DESTROYED.
The first two times I used this service, I was impressed with the thorough job and gave them a five-​star rating. The next two times were far less impressive with water spots and shoe prints left on the floor, dust on the sills, etc. The cleaner arrived hours late; the next time she didn’t show up at all so I had to reschedule for another day.
The final time I used this service, I came home to find my antique trunk completely destroyed. Apparently the cleaner had set her pail of cleanser on and it spilled all over, stripping the lacquered finish. She just left it that way without a word.
When I called and reported it, Tia said she had a friend who would fix it and she would send the cleaner back to pick up the trunk. Well, the cleaner was a tiny woman who could not lift the trunk so my boyfriend had to lug it down a flight of stairs only to discover her car was too small.
Tia said she would send her friend over to pick it up and I never heard from them again despite my leaving several messages. Very unprofessional and it cost me $ 125 to have the trunk resurfaced.

I can’t believe this is a real business! I won’t be able to review their cleaning skills, because no one even showed up!
I made an appointment for 10:00 am, so when 10:30 rolled around and no one was here I called. She was very apologetic and said she could send me a replacement in half an hour. By NOON, there was still no one there. When I called, she sounded very surprised and told me this kind of thing «never» happens. She offered to have someone come the next morning at 10:00 for a 50% discount. At this point, I was skeptical but for 50% off I took the bait.
It’s now 11:30 and still no maid at my house. I called about an hour ago just to get a voicemail and have not received a call back (nor do I think I will).
Now I’m off to clean my messy, messy house!
