Went here a few days ago. Overall the food and service was ok. I had the She Crab soup and Mahi Sandwich. I am from the Carolinas and this was sub par from what I have had in the Carolinas. The Mahi sandwich seemed like it has been frozen and then grilled. It just didn’t seem fresh. The taste was fine, but the presentation of the fish just didn’t seem up to par. I don’t think that I would return. I was told that these are new owners(not sure how long) but they need to turn things around.

Is it wrong to write a bad review twice? I keep hoping that Pirates will get it together… its such a great location… the food is ok… The service is consistently awful! We had a party of 8, sat downstairs dockside … Waited 20 minutes for service… Gave up, thinking maybe we needed to approach the bar for menus etc. Stood there for at least another 10 minutes to no avail … Oh, and by the way, the bartender was not busy… He just simply ignored me. Gave up and went upstairs… service was good, food was decent, drinks were so so… I will say that I have been here a few times in the past year and there was one time we got great service… and the food was good… Everything clicked … Just wish that would be the rule and not the exception…

Had lunch on Saturday and ordered the jumbo fried shrimp. The size of the shrimp is really jumbo which usually is just large in most places. However they were so greasy I had to remove the breading to eat them. The oil was clearly not hot enough when they were put in the fryer. Service was really slow. Coleslaw had a nice flavor.

I stayed at this place a couple weeks back while my girlfriend was visiting and the location is excellent. The rooms could really use a remodel and some new bedding and the towels were almost like paper towels! They really need to put some money into this place and it could be amazing. I can’t say enough how bad the linens are and we found multiple random hairs everywhere. I suggest staying elsewhere until they put forth some effort. Paying 150 a night for a motel 6 with a view is what you get.

Great lunch with family. Whenever we are in the neighborhood we try to stop in for lunch. My husband always has the crab cakes and loves them. I had the mahi tacos they were really good. The Godiva cake is really good We will be back

This is a bit of a different review: This is a review about honesty, ethics, and a bit about food also. My wife and I stopped in for dinner on 4th of July before the fireworks show. We enjoyed great live music, dockside patio seating, and great service. The fish dip(with extra jalapenos) was classically prepared and perfect consistency. Our main entrees were prepared well and tasted great — grouper and scallops. Here’s where it gets interesting: upon being presented the check, I reach for my wallet and its gone. Wearing new shorts with shallow pockets, I immediately was concerned. Not just for my wallet and around $ 400 cash, but for my ID as I was flying back home that next morning. I ran down to the boat and tore the entire boat apart looking for my wallet. Checked the restaurant bathroom where I stopped before being seated. Nothing. I’m in a bit of a pinch. My wife went to the hostess and told her the situation and she said no problem, we can just call in a credit card when we get home… But let’s check lost and found she recommended. Much to my shock(maybe I’m a bit cynical), someone had turned in my wallet. Moreover, all the cash was inside. What a great surprise! I asked who turned it in so I could pay for their dinner but they were unsure who dropped it off at the desk. Even if I hadn’t retrieved my wallet, I would still give 5 stars for the ambiance, food, and service on an otherwise hectic night at Pirate’s Cove!

Waitress had too many tables had to wait awhile for refills. Salad dressing was better at McDonald’s. Meatloaf was dry. Linguine was watered down. Not impressed…

Loved it! This place is a hidden gem. The food was great and the hotel felt we were in the florida keys. Try the fish dip OMG. So good

Went for lunch(my first time) with 6 other friends. Waitress was showing off and took our whole order in her head. Had to come back and clarify sides, etc. When lunch was served, we were a meal short and it was mine. It came out about 10 minutes later(shrimp po’boy) and was delicious, but… that’s the kind of mistake that shouldn’t be made. Write it down. Will go back but will make sure someone knows not to forget me again.

Going down hill. Hire more help in season. Your employees are so over worked we went up twice to the bar for ice tea refills to help out the bartender /waitress. Food is good but pirates cove needs to step it up

Cool place to stay. With kids or without. Tiki bar drinks a little pricy but if you go for the Ambiance, Service, and Food it’s great. Tiki bar food comes from upstairs restaurant so it’s a win win(or choice choice).

I like pirates cove for the water front views but the drinks are way over priced for size of cup that have way more ice than actual drink itself. $ 7.50 for what equated to about 3 ounces of cocktail is excessive compared to other restaurants. This was my second trip there and probably last. We paid an admission on the 4th of July to see fireworks which was fine but they removed every table and chair so none of their guests had a place to sit. we got there early and the show started quite a bit later than scheduled so having to stand the whole time was very disappointing. This place needs to get a better game on or I am sure they will further alienate their locals.

I, along with a group of approximately 40 people, just returned from a 3-night stay at Pirate’s Cove. Our stay was organized under a group rate($ 109/night) and our organizer was told that the $ 20/night pet fee was waived(we were in Stuart for a rabbit expo). Upon check-in, we were told that the pet fee was not waived and we would be charged. Our organizer called and was told that they would waive 1 night pet fee. At check-out our entire group, including those that didn’t bring pets, were charged for every night they were there and there was also a rollaway bed fee and no one had a rollaway in the room. The rollaway fee was removed from the bill, but they would not budge on the pet fee. The pet fee was removed from the bills for people that didn’t have pets. Our rabbits were kept in pens and we left the rooms SPOTLESS. I even brought my Dyson and vacuumed the entire room and we also wiped down and sanitized every surface. We even took pictures from every angle and advised our entire group to do so also. The front desk staff had no interest in even attempting to resolve our issue. I do have to say that rooms were clean and comfortable, the food and service in the tiki bar and pool area was outstanding(special kudos go out to CJ and Kristen), and the pool inviting. We had no issue at all with the premises or service staff. The issue in the first paragraph really soured our entire experience. Between room fees, 2 dinners and one lunch, our group spent thousands of dollars at Pirate’s Cove. This is an annual event(this was the 4th year) and we are really incredulous that this establishment would drive our group to another resort over a $ 20 pet fee. If it weren’t for this, we would have loved to come back next year.

This is my favorite bar/bar food in the area. Always outstanding service. Tables and chairs in the sand of a working Marina gives it just enough dive even when drinking Champ. I have run through a lot the original menu. By original they have creations that most water front places in the area do not and are executed brilliantly. Dishes to note and that keep me coming back are Thai Firecracker Shrimp, Tempura Wasabi Shrimp, Onion Rings, Fish Tacos, Mahi Rueben, Red Beans and Rice. Everything is perfectly flavored and not over dressed. I always look forward to ending a day on the water here.

Can’t seem to get our dinner. Had a reservation for 17 people at 6:00 and we are still waiting for our food at 8:00. Slow service for drinks and salads too.

Sandwiches and salads are great especially the pork dip sandwich. The fish fingers are also always delish. We tend to stay away from the dinner menu because I just feel they simply can’t justify the prices for the food they serve. Great views and drinks.

Great location and room(we had a waterfront king), but the bed was too hard and uncomfortable! Also, pay for your room when you check in to avoid a pre-authorization of the balance. Overall, we had a good time.

It’s a really nice, new, clean, spotless place. When seated by the windows you have a wonderful view of the water and the boats in the marina. It has a large bar with plenty of seating and they do serve a rather good drink. The menu is complete but rather basic and the food is good but nothing exceptional or unique. This is the type of place one goes for the view and the atmosphere, not for the food, which tough very good is nothing unique or exceptional enough to make me a fan.

I came here on a recent visit to FL. My dad lives in the area and raves about the view here. It does have a nice view, especially for the area, which I am not particularly fond of. I basically asked the waiter what he considered to be gluten free for any fish dish. He stated they could steam a piece of Halibut(after checking with the kitchen) and some vegetables to go alone side it. My dad ordered the tilapia encrusted with pistachios, which he said was delicious. Hubby ordered a dish with clams that he said was okay. My dish came out and was immediately sent back by the waiter as the kitchen realized they steamed my veggies with pasta water. Great catch! This is why they get 3 stars. My fish was very bland but didn’t get sick, which is always great in my book. Our waiter was attentive and always there when you needed him.
