This review is not for the food but for the drinks. My favorite place to grab drinks with friends when I am in town.

We stopped in for a late night bite and some beers. Flood’s has a fairly vast selection of beers including both macro and craft options. There were eight or so rotating craft drafts as well as other drafts offered year-round. I ordered some chicken tenders alongside my beer. They were thin and had more breading than chicken meat. I think the chicken wings would have been a better option. I chose to have the tenders with the big jon sauce — Flood’s spiciest sauce. I would disclaim that it’s one of the spiciest wing sauces I’ve tried. I found it to be dry and not flavorful. We also ordered a cupcake which are delivered daily from a bakery. The cupcakes were nicely decorated and a cute way to finish the meal.

I stop here a few times a year on the way back from skiing. Good bar food and a good beer selection. The prices are good also as some of my guests have been pleasantly suprised. I see some are calling this a dive bar and I guess it is a little run down, hard to believe because I remember when this was a nice new place in the 90s.

Twenty five beers on tap and 125 in bottles — what’s not to like? Stopped in here in search of beer food and an cool atmosphere and I wasn’t disappointed. The burgers are awesome! The staff is very friendly. Next time I’m in town I’ll be back.

Dive bar with pretty darned good food! This was a somewhat random stop for us and we visited solely on the menu and the strength of the existing Unilocal reviews. They have plenty of drinks and beers on tap, including regular domestics and some interesting craft selections. I’d say there’s something there for about anyone. The food is far above average for this kind of place. Delicious, big, juicy burgers, awesome sandwiches, and the cheesesteak is very good. Even the fries are done perfectly – try the Kelly’s Fries with cheese and gravy! The only thing I didn’t really care for is the general atmosphere of the place created by plentiful obnoxious customers. That’s not really the fault of the bar, but it was full of people who seemed to enjoy being as loud as possible, even mid-day on a Sunday. If that’s not your crowd, you will have a hard time enjoying your meal here.

This is my new go to bar when I stay in the Poconos! Friendly people, chill crowd and great prices! The selection of beer on tap and in bottles is awesome and the prices are so low and reasonable! We were there on a weekend but they have specials for every weekday! Didn’t get a chance to try any of the food yet but definitely will on our next trip here! Oh and the bay breezes are amazing here! They use real Malibu unlike some other bars and even restaurants I’ve been to! Highly recommend!

I have always had a decent time, especially when I attended ESU myself. It was always the go-to hot spot, a sweet bar to chill at but my opinion changed abruptly yesterday afternoon. I walk out of the rest room and am confronted by the clueless and most profane bartender that goes by the name Kenny Doyle. He says, «I do not know what you are doing in there but you better be careful.» The imbecile was basically accusing me of snorting coke in there, stating that I have been going to the bathroom one too many times in the past hour or so. I have never snorted coke in my entire life and was completely shocked and offended that he would even accuse me of that. Don’t use the bathroom there too much, or you will probably also get implicated for doing drugs! We immediately left that filthy pig pen. I was there with my boyfriend and a few friends and there was no one else at the bar, we were ordering drinks, tipping and so forth, not causing any problems whatsoever. I barely drank two beers at that place and it was only four in the afternoon on a Sunday. The bartender said I was sniffing too much and was tweaking like crazy when all I did was sit there and watch the dull football game. So much for having a fun time on my boyfriend’s birthday but to have it ruined by some prick who lives on top of a towny bar(Floods), has a college degree supposedly yet the dumbass bar tends his life away? And most likely spends all of his tip money on coke lines. Oh yeah, he is like thirty five… so ladies… if you are looking for some fine piece of meat, go for this tweaker! I have never been treated this way in my entire life and will never attend this bar again. If these are the type of people that they hire, the ones that«use their judgement» when numerous kids walk in and out of there absolutely mangled, and then drive home… way to go. Besides that, this establishment is incredibly unprofessional, disrespectful and smutty. Just like that scummy bartender, Kenny Doyle.

As others have mentioned, this place is good for wings and sandwiches. McHale’s wings mix their Tennessee whiskey BBQ and Big John hot sauce(and it is hot) for an excellent combination. Their«best sandwich ever» is a misnomer, but it isn’t bad. For me, the true draw is the beer selection. It’s arguably the best in the area(the main competition being Yard of Ale a brief jaunt down the street). They’ve had a lot to try since I started going a decade ago, but in recent years, they’ve been forerunners in rotating what they have in stock aside from their standard menu. The staff has been mostly fantastic and able to offer recommendations based on personal tastes. I cannot knock them there. They also aren’t pretentious snobs. This is also reflected in the clientele for the most part. As for drawbacks, the place isn’t spacious, and it can be a bit much on a crowded night. The bathroom isn’t perfect if you’re a neat freak, but keep in mind it is a pub. There is no outdoor seating, but that’s neither here nor there. Parking is generally not an issue. As it’s on Main Street, there are a fair few other places to visit nearby. Check it out. I love the place but can see where others could find fault in it. Can’t please everyone.

Quality of food was excellent. Large portions. Very friendly workers. Only downside was that there was only one waitress waiting on all the tables and our food took longer than expected to be served. But other than that we enjoyed our meal there!

I love floods, as both a bar and a restaurant. The food is good and reasonably priced and they serve late, until 1 even if people are ordering. They have great live music, the service is great, and the drink selection is huge. When compared to the other«bars» in stroudsburg, I’d say it’s the only real one. the others are nightclub knockoffs. The wing and drink specials always bring in a good crowd, and for good reason. I might be biased as this was my go-to place on a weekend, but rest assured floods is your best bet for a good night or a good meal.

I’ve been coming to the place since 1998, close to 17 years now. Recently their prices went up on just about everything approximately 20%. The quality of the food and beer actually went down though unfortunately. Last time I came here I had the Greatest Chicken Sandwich Ever with fries. The sandwich tasted like it was left under the heat lamp too long, and the fries were cooked in oil that was too dirty and old, as they had a dirty brownish tint and tasted old. But that wasn’t the worst part. I ordered a local IPA(Weyerbacher Double Simcoe IPA) on draft. It was way off, rotted and infected. Not a good look, especially for the most expensive beer in your establishment. Also not very good for Weyerbacher, which is a local craft brewery about 25 miles south in Easton. This has always been a big issue at Flood’s. Infected beer. I’m guessing that the bar manager does not manage the tap lines, and a bar back simply switches them without sanitizing them by running a pitcher of starsan through. This Cicerone 101 here. Not too difficult. I had this same issue here about a year ago with a Victory Dirtwolf Double IPA. Infected beer due to unsanitized tap lines. I should have learned my lesson. Note the owners, bar backs and bar manager-If your going to serve higher end local craft brew product and charge a premium price for it($ 7.00 a pint), please make sure that your tap lines and taps are properly cleaned and sanitized each time you change a keg, otherwise your just serving infected beer. This is a really important and commonly overlooked facet of the food service and bar industry. You risk getting customers sick, getting red flagged by the actual brewery for special releases and tasting events, and you also lose customers for not taking the necessary steps to insure that the product you are serving is safe for human consumption. One last issue here. The temperature that they serve their draft beer is not cold enough. Draft beer is served at 37 °F. Floods typically serves it at 42 °F, which might save them some energy costs from MetEd, but spoils the product in their taproom. FYI, Flood’s hasn’t updated their beer menu’s page since March of 2012. I just don’t understand why they don’t take their business seriously.

The words«dive bar» have never really been a compliment in my opinion, until I walked into Flood’s. This place takes«dive bar» and suddenly makes it cool. The ambiance is very casual, and you will see all kinds of people here(mostly locals, but all ages), which is great. Their beer selection is on point. Lots of options, ranging from Yuengling to the most obscure craft beers. The bartenders are great, but at night there’s usually only one waitress so don’t expect super fast service if you’re sitting in a booth or table. The food is the epitome of American bar food. Delicious, huge burgers plus fat steak fries. I always get the Kelly Fries with cheese and gravy, which is sort of like poutine. On Sundays they have beer flights and cheap chili dogs, which is one of the first dates that my now-fiancé took me on. The real highlight of Flood’s though, is on Thursdays Pocono Duo plays live. These guys are my favorite local musicians… They are an acoustic indie duo that plays a wide range of indie music. They actually played for my engagement party, and I just love them. And if you go to Flood’s on Thursday you get to see them for free! What’s better than that?

Bar food, but better than average. The ambiance isn’t for me — it feels more like a diner than a true pub.

I came here after a loooong but epic day of kayaking and it was absolutely PERFECT. The 10 in my party were drenched, exhausted, shivering, smelly and probably looked a little homeless given our uniforms of sweatpants, old gym shirts and water proof shoes, but Flood’s accommodated us on the spot that Sunday evening with no judgement and probably the next waitress I have ever met. We were provided with menus and waters. Beers were brought out at once. Once everyone had decided what calorie bomb they wanted order, our waitress took down our orders. About 15 minutes later, the food came out(amazing!). And let me tell you, it HIT the SPOT. I had the french dip sandwich. NO regrets there. The roast beef was flavorful as it was tender, and the bread, moistened by dip, complemented the beef wonderfully. Everyone seemed to throughly enjoy their meals, and our ever-attentive waitress periodically returned to the table to make sure we were enjoying our food and refilled our waters multiple times(woooaaahhh). Dessert was equally magnificent. Flood’s serves cupcakes from a little bakery across the street. I split the Oreo cupcake with a friend but now I sort of wish I hadn’t…3 days later, I’m still salivating just thinking about that cupcake. If I’m ever in Stroudsburg again and need a bite to eat, I will ABSOLUTELY hit this place up… hoping to make it a tradition! :)

Interesting little dive bar in a great downtown Stroudsburg location. Fantastic bottle and draft beer selection. Shockingly fantastic! Several pumpkin beers to choose from, too! Food was very decent for a dive. Bartenders were friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed my short visit immensely!

Oh, Flood’s! This place is a bit of a dive bar but I loved going here once in a while in my college days(@ESU). They have $ 2 pints which is awesome! They also have 30 cent wings on Tuesdays. This is a good bar for grabbing a few beers and some bar food(or wings, if it’s Tuesday). If you’re trying to have a decent meal, you might want to be in and out before the crowd gets there. It gets packed multiple nights a week. If you are looking for a busy bar scene then pop in after about 9pm. If you’re there around 2am they will start flashing the lights to kick you out: D

Hampton Inn business traveler here. Walked over, felt perfectly comfortable doing so. Burger, wings and beer selection can’t be beat. Food may not be Irish but an Irish guy sat next to me at the bar, close enough. Wings are on small side and well done, as in crispy, which is what I like. Hot was pretty hot and had me sniffling nicely. Burger, medium well was juicy and flavorful. 25 beers on tap and a nice selection of bottles. Crowd was a mix of business types, college kids, and locals. Divey look to the place, again something I like, normal crowd as compared to any chain restaurant.

Beer selection: Amazing! Food: i can make better bar food. My nachos were out-of-the-bag chips with fake cheese on top. Let’s try to invest in at least cheddar cheese. Super gross. I love bar food… who can mess up fried goodness? This establishment definitely did. Stick to the beer, wait to eat somewhere else!
