They recently instituted an adult program, not that you’d notice the difference. Patients aren’t told their rights or the schedule, staff openly ridicules private medical information about other patients for everyone to hear, nurses literally ignore patients in the window. The actual therapists and Psychiatrist are good, but the staff is the kind you see on 60 Minutes investigations. This is the place that makes legitimate places look scary to people who really need help, and needs to be either overhauled or shut down entirely.

My son was here a few months ago & this place is horrible. Understaffed & forgot to give him his medicine quite a few times, put him on the wrong meds, misdiagnosed him, did not do a follow up after he got home like they said they would. He ended up at another mental health facility a month later. They finally got him on the right meds at that one & he’s doing much better! I would never put him back at Streamwood ever again!!! They’ve already had a big lawsuit against them, so doesn’t that say something?
