Specialties

Family owned and operated full service restaurant and inn. Situated on 10 acres with views of Mount Mansfield. Great space for off site meetings, family reunions, weddings or rehearsal dinners.

History

Established in 1937.

The Hob Knob was designed by Boston architect Royal Barry Wills, and built by Stowe resident and artist Ken Hoyt. The accommodations were spartan by today’s standards — tiny rooms with bunk beds hosted 14 guests. The large dining room and lounge were constructed with hand-hewn beams from an abandoned barn on West Hill. The massive fireplace was built with stones from local fields.

Meet the Business Owner

Barbara, Kate, Sam, Tyler L.

Business Owner

Barbara and children are from New Hampshire where Barbara was an elementary/special education teacher. Her daughter Kate after graduating from the University of Connecticut met her husband Rick and moved to Stowe to join the fun. After wedding in 2009 Kate and Rick had their sons, Sam born July 20, 2011 and Tyler born February 6, 2013. Deuce and Akira join us for the summers while out of school to round out the family.

The Hob Knob being family owned and operated gives it a charm like no other. Barbara and Rick create wonderful dishes for the restaurant, while Kate, Sam & Tyler make you feel welcomed into our home.
