Took my pup here and even though she was scared silly (she’s very timid) they worked with her to minimize her stress (exam on the floor, me walking her to back, etc.) We’ll be going back with the rest of our pets.

Great service unless you have contact with Dr. Watrud. Took my 2 cats in for a physical and he insisted they receive rabies shots which I declined. Wisconsin law requires rabies vaccinations for dogs 5 months +, but not cats & mine live indoors and are not exposed to other animals. He went so far as to tell me I might get bats in my house. I think this guy has bats in his belfry. Vaccines are a significant source of revenue for clinics. Lying about the law for monetary gain is unacceptable.

The vets and staff here are THE BOMB!
I brought my poor hunting dog here for some chiropractic treatment because she was favoring her back leg. Well, a quick inspection by the vets and it turns out she had ruptured her ACL. Well, these folks aren’t my usual vet, so I took her back there for a second opinion. They agreed.
The folks at SVS were so sweet and attentive… they knew my dog was in pain and got us in VERY quickly. Great information about the options, gave me lots of time to discuss and ask questions, and something I ALWAYS appreciate… hearing the vet’s opinion on what THEY would do, if it were their dog. So, we opted for a surgery and spent weeks doing the recovery, pain management, etc. Throughout, the vets and staff here were just wonderful. Calling to give me updates, asking how home care was going… and every visit, they were clearly passionate about their work and the animals they care for. A truly great group of talented and caring people.
Prices? well… we all struggle with this… If you are like me, you pay vet bills out of pocket. The prices here are very fair, pretty much right inline with my regular vet. I was given itemized receipts, accurate cost estimates, and no questions on returns of a couple of treatment items I ended up not needing. Very fair. So, yes, while it was painful on the bank account, I definitely got what I paid for, and my dog is back to her old self.
Hint: How do you know if your pet likes the vet? Are they happy to visit, or are they terrified? Both of my dogs LOVE going here… they get lots of petting, scruffling of fur, a couple of treats… it’s hard to argue with wagging tails :)

I love this vet! Dr. Peterson is the best. I’ve never had a bad experience here and they foster a personal relationship with your animal. I’ve also gotten new pets from the vet, when another family was about to send the animal to the Humane Society. A great community space!

Still love this place. They most recently took care of my dog’s broken foot, and then my two other dogs after they got into some ibuprofen. Both times we came in at the end of the day, especially with the ibuprofen ingestion. I offered to go elsewhere as I didn’t want to inconvenience them, but they let me bring them in and stayed late to treat them. Fortunately, they charged me an «emergency» exam fee ($ 75 instead of $ 40 or so), but only for one of the dogs. They totally let me off easy. It would have been so much more expensive if I had had to go to an emergency vet.
