Walsh Landscaping

Walsh Landscaping recently did work on my house and I could not be happier. Work done on time and even better than I had hoped for.
They had suggestions on how to improve my original ideas at little or no cost and kept me informed as each step in the process took place.
Professional work done by true professional landscapers.

If the way they landscape is any indication as to how they drive, I’d call anyone else but Walsh. I’ve personally seen them cut off, nearly run over or practically kill other drivers while tooling around town. No turn signals, cell phone use and discourtesy that borders on criminal. I’d love to meet the guy who decided to put their phone # on the back of each truck.

Walsh landscaping just did fall clean up on my property. The yard is perfectly clean and looking beautiful ! Frank and his guys are professional and hard working! They did great job at great price! So happy with the work done throughout the year! My yard looks amazing ! I highly recommend !

When I declined his offer I got an offensive (if not threatening) voicemail from Frank Walsh. I think this guy is a sociopath. It took me a while to decide weather or not to call the police. This miserable excuse for a business man is definitely one to avoid.

Walsh Landscaping recently completed a job at my home. My backyard was unlivable and useless! Frank Walsh turned my backyard into a functional, practical, gorgeous living space! It looks like something out of a Home and Garden magazine. The job was done quickly and professionally. My husband and I are enjoying our new patio, lawn, plantings and garden. The workers were respectful and the owner worked with us blending his ideas with our own. We are using Walsh for our lawn maintenance and tree spraying, and will also use him for snow removal this winter. In addition, the upkeep on our lawn with mowing and fertilizing has been perfect!

Weirdly, there are a few landscapers in the Boston area named Frank Walsh, so I’ll be very specific to spare the innocent. The offender is the owner of Walsh Landscaping in Stoneham, MA. This guy:

I guess he does snow removal, hardscaping, masonry, and lawn maintenance too.
Anyways, I wasn’t impressed from the beginning.
He didn’t listen. When I spoke, he walked away. Even when he spoke, he walked away! Annoying.
I made a rough sketch of the landscape work I was thinking about to help communicate. He wasn’t interested.
He was a loud blow-​hard, too. Always moving around and never engaging in conversation.
He had a «king-​shit» air about him.
I don’t remember him asking me any questions. I guess that makes sense since King Shit Landscapers already know what’s good for their customers and don’t need to ask about their ideas and preferences.
He’d start scoffing and bloviating when something I said didn’t suit him.
He’s sloppy. His 3 estimates (one for each area of my property) came with a scrawled «diagram» which looked like it took 30 seconds to draw. Each took me a good 10 minutes to figure out. I gave up on one. This might not indicate a careless work ethic… could be a neurological disorder. I didn’t ask.
All this gave the impression that he viewed me as a necessary evil… just the idiot with the money.
Anyways, I would have kicked him to the curb day one if it weren’t for his partner and my wife.
His partner the plant supplier listened to me and added his own good ideas. When he thought one of my ideas wasn’t hitting the mark (I’m not a landscaper after all) he talked to me about it and had suggestions ready. You know, we COLLABORATED. He acted as if we were in this TOGETHER. Frank’s partner behaved like a seasoned professional who wanted and appreciated my business. Revolutionary!
So we proceeded with Frankie-​boi past the estimate phase. My wife wanted to get the landscaping done since winter was coming and spending time getting different estimates and to find the landscaper who gives you the warm fuzzy takes time.
Besides, he was a recommendation. How bad could he be, right? You’ll see!
The next weekend, we ran into this perfect ornamental tree for super cheap at Northeast Nursery. We’d been looking for months for the right tree so we bought it before someone else did. It was one $ 250 plant out of a $ 3 – 5 thousand dollar project.
To update Frank, I left a voicemail for him on Monday morning telling him not to worry about this one tree. He called me back and he completely lost it over this tree! He was so out of control I fired him on the spot. He hung up on me but then I guess he decided he wasn’t done so he called me back. I didn’t pick up so he continued with his epic freak-​out on voicemail… now saved for all eternity.
