Just left there after wanting to trade some ice hockey stuff in. Not only were the employees all sitting around watching the football game, they didn’t really seem interested to help out! Walked around for a few minutes looking & noticed the goalie pads I dropped off a few months ago were on the rack for sale yet they refused to buy them off me. Said they were too old & no one would want them so why are they on the rack for sale? Tried asking the for help on finding toehooks for the goalie skates but their main focus was on the game & after waiting they just said no they don’t have any & never even looked. Offered me $ 30 for a few things on a store credit or $ 24 cash, took the cash. Never going back there again!

A hot mess, literally. It’s usually about 20 degrees warmer in that place and it’s never close to organized. Most of the stuff can be bought new at a (usually) lower price and anyone stupid enough to buy a Krown longboard deserves the broken skull they’ll get using it.

Biggest scam artists of all time! Armed with a bullshit return policy and overpriced, used sporting equipment, you’re better off just going and buying from Sports Authority or a place that doesn’t try to rip off their customers.
Purchased a brand-​new bike helmet a month and a half ago and tried to return it. Because I was two weeks later then the return policy they wouldn’t issue a full store credit. The helmet was new with tags in original packaging and never worn. The manager said he would give me 30% of what I originally purchased it for as a «buyback». Garbage!

Sold some stuff I didn’t want anymore and got a little money! So it was a win win for me! The people were nice and the place was clean so all over good. I’d buy stuff here too! Check it out /​I know I will why not save some coins?

Bought a great balance bike for my son. So glad they carried new ones and I didn’t have to order it. The people were helpful

I like this place because it actually has people that know and care about their customers and they carry a pretty good selection of equipment and the prices on the new gear is right in line with most other stores in the area. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the amount of $ they offer for items I try to trade in. I have tried with various types of hockey and baseball gear and I’m always disappointed in the amount of $ they offered.

I had some spare softball gear that I wanted to trade in so I brought it here. I traded in a few bats, smaller gloves, and batting helmets. I was able to get a used glove, a new softball, and few new Lacrosse balls. The owner and his son were really friendly which I liked. It took a bit of time to have them go through stuff but I was not in a rush and I browsed instead of standing around. I would trade here again for sure.

I love this store don’t get me wrong but lately ive been annoyed. I am use to the service «You need help with anything?» Thats fine… last time I went there this guy who is mentally challenge aka slow always comes up to me and talks to me. I just want to browse around not talk about the red soxs win lastnight. Management should control their sloth… heeeeeeeeyyyyyy you guys!!! He means well but he’s annoying the customers. Ive seen him hover over an infant with the mother shaking in her sketchers. Great store but Danvers state closed years ago.
I only heard about this place after looking for goalie gear on Craigslist. Play It Again Sports had an ad on CL. I decided to go to the store to check it out. I was in need of a pair of goalie pants. The place is pretty big and dungeon like but cool at the sametime. Alot of hockey gear, I like the fact there store has there own goalie section. I found a nice pair of black vaughn goalie pants I bought for $ 65 used but retail new about $ 159. I also bought this hybrid Blackhawks, Redraiders goalie stick. It’s alittle small for me but I put it on my wall. It’s a great conversation piece (Thank you Frankie Fritz).
A few weeks later I went back there to make a trade. I had some hockey gear that was just laying around and I wanted to see what I could get for it. I was alittle worried I wouldnt get much. I figured maybe id get something out of it. I wasnt looking for cash just trade in on other goalie gear. The guy whos name I forgot who helped me out was pretty laid back and cool. After a few he told me about $ 130 in trade. I was surprise since my stuff was used and I didnt think id get much. I ended up buying with the trade a brand new with tags Sher-​Wood chest protector, I paid the diffrence of $ 50 bucks. Online goalie stores sell it for $ 200. It was a great deal and I plan on doing more business with Play It Again Sports. Mad props!

horrible service! 5 employees doing nothing, not one said hello or even offered to help us. After sifting through the mess, we left. Very disappointed.

Wow I am so glad I discovered this place! I needed skis for my kids and didnt want to spend a lot. Each one got boots, helmet and skis for about $ 100 each. Big selection for kid sizes. I had to go back with one issue and they took the item back and found me another pretty quickly. The store is PACKED with stuff so I am betting it can be very frustrating when its busy here.

It’s kind of a mess, often crowded, and a certain amount of general chaos reigns. But with prices like this, who cares? The staff is very sincerely helpful, though they can be overtaxed, and the selection is huge. For winter sports — skiing, hockey, and snowboarding — the selection blows away anything I’ve seen in Greater Boston. If you’re like me and hate dropping a ton of money on stuff you use infrequently, or if you’re just trying out a new game, this is your place.

This is undoubtedly one of the top two Play it Again sports stores, and is my favorite place to go for Athletic equipment.
They focus mostly on hockey and skates, but they have a good selection of baseball equipment, lacrosse, etc.
The staff is super helpful and courteous without driving you crazy. If you just want to try stuff on and mind your own business, you absolutely can.

I was really pleasantly surprised by our experience at Play it Again Sports. It looks tiny on the outside, but it is huge inside and they have a great selection. The employee that we worked with, Eamonn was his name I believe, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend this store and will definitely return.
