NV The Salon

Erica has been taking care of me for 15+ years now. First in Woburn and now in Stoneham. A few years ago I moved to the South Shore. After tiring of the commute to the North Shore every 5 – 6 weeks, I decided to stop coming to see Erica and find someone in my area. I thought it would be no problem to find a new salon. I guess I have been seeing Erica for so long that I didn’t realize how amazing she is. I thought all colorists were as talented as her. Boy was I wrong! After trying 3 different salons, and being disappointed 3 times, I have decided that I have to make the commute to the North Shore. It doesn’t matter the names of the 3 salons I’ve tried. Ive come to realize that Erica is truly a unique and immensely talented hair dresser, one of a kind and I could search high and low and be disappointed many more times and still not find another like her. She has NEVER disappointed me and I know she never will. I wish there were more stars I could give her!

This place is awesome! I went today for the first time and was greeted by the owner Erica S. She greeted me with a warm welcome! She asked me what i wanted done and was very upfront with prices. She made me feel comfortable and worked with me to stay in my budget. I had Alex do my hair. She did an amazing job and in such a timely manner. I have been to other places where I feel like I’m in the chair for hours on end! The parking is great and it is in an easy location! After you pay at the end, they email you a receipt! It shows exactly what you had done and how much!!! I love it! MY new salon!

First time here today. It’s a wonderful spot — easy to find and with public parking right across the street. The shop itself is more comfortable than most, with cushy chairs, especially when getting one’s hair shampooed and rinsed. I like the hair coloring better than my last place. All the products they use are all natural and gentle. That’s important to me because I’m allergic to many products — including many of the hypoallergenic products. Last, but not least, I highly recommend you have your done by Alex. She is the best. Not every hair dresser can handle a pixie but she does so and styles up in a way that I simply can’t. If you want short hair I highly recommend you make your appointment with Alex.

My last hair appointment (at another salon that will go unnamed) was in my eyes a total failure. It left me not feeling like myself and unfortunately I has spent a good deal of money to basically ruin my hair for the summer.
With fall here, I was finally ready and able to go in and try to bring my hair back to its former glory. I decided to try out NV Salon which had just moved to a building across from the Stoneham Town Common.
I was greeted by a smiling and friendly Erica who was waiting for me for my appointment. We got right down to business and I really loved the way she discussed how we would go about fixing my hair and what exactly to expect.
Well, I have got to say, 2 hours later, I walked out feeling like a million bucks. Erica helped give me back some confidence I think was lacking. I’ll be back for sure. I just found my new salon!

New to town, 1^st time I walked in with hair past shoulder length and showed Samantha a pic of the pixie hair cut I wanted. I was worried because it hard to tell if it’s going to be what you wanted and it hard to explain what you like about the picture. I was also worried that it wouldn’t look the same the next day when I didn’t have a professional stylist, but the more time that goes by the more I like it and think it’s exactly what I want. Will be going back. :)

What can I say about this salon. I walked in before they even opened their doors and asked when they were opening and I’ve been with them since. I’ve been a gal without a salon for a long, long time.
Sam is great! So glad I found this place.

I have been searching high and low for a salon nearby (in Woburn) after my previous salon became so big that the only appointment left for me was a Tuesday night squeezed in between clients… with a stylist that would actually listen to what I want regarding my grey coverage! and bring my hair back to it’s glory days without a hard sell on the products.
I am a high maintenance complete PITA client — by that I mean I call at the last minute expecting an appointment, I hate double book– don’t double book me and expect me to come back, and I am a 40+ woman who doesn’t want to look 40+ but doesn’t want to look like a 30something either. Some days I love to chat, some days I need silence. I don’t want to sit for 4 hours in your chair yet I have color plus foils plus long hair to be styled after and I don’t want to be rushed. How fun am I?
Anyway, tried Erica out on a slushy snowy evening before thanksgiving — Besides the fact that I was warmly greeted, situated nicely, consulted with, amazed by the hair washing and scalp massage, everything completed in a very timely manner — I LOVED MY LOOK IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED!!! and I booked my next appointment for New Year’s Eve (did I mention that even though I need my hair touched up every 4 weeks I won’t come back before 7 weeks? see the PITA above…). So yea, New Year’s Eve day I walked back in not expecting to be 100% satisfied again (because seriously, no one can possibly nail it twice in a row), but Erica proved me wrong again by completely nailing it a second time. My 3^rd appointment was to be in the middle of a Feb 2015 blizzard (which those who live here know this Feb 2015 has been brutal) so I called to reschedule and first of all, Erica already knew me by voice — AND had a number of times to offer me. I can’t WAIT to get back in her chair.
Erica is a true professional who listens to what her client wants, asks intelligent questions about the hairstyle and nails it. For real professional.

For the past 5+ years Erica has been cutting my hair. I wouldn’t go to anyone else. Always friendly service and great products. High praise for her and her team. Book an appointment. You’ll be happy you did. And you hair will look a-​ma-​zing!

Not at all happy with my «haircut» from Sam. Let me start off with saying this was my first (also my last) When I arrived I felt less like a welcomed paying customer, and more of a bother. There was no greeting, no friendly light conversation back and forth, although I tried my best.
The services were super rushed and it showed. I also had my brows done as well. When I got home I was none to happy to see a huge long section of hair that was left completely uncut. And I had to fix my brows too. If I had know the results would have been this bad I would have saved my money and cut my own hair and shaped my own brows… which I ended up having to do. Thankfully I had my shears from my hair school kit to fix the mistake as best as I could. I even came in with pictures and it was cut way shorter and nothing even remotely like the photo. I mean I know it’s not going to look exactly the same, but wtf was the long strip of uncut hair all about.
Lesson learned! I’ll gladly shell out the extra money at my regular salon where the haircuts are complete, the staff is welcoming, friendly, and gracious.

The biggest mistake Erica Kelly could have made was open her own Salon. Operating your own business is not easy for some people & even harder for people who are unfriendly, unprofessional & rude. Long story short, I set up an appointment for a wedding consult with Erica — the first thing the receptionist (& I use that term loosely) should have done, was make sure that ‘said stylist’ was available on the date of my wedding. Walking into my appointment, I made sure that Erica was aware of my wedding date. She immediately said she wasn’t available. I stood there awkwardly… she rudely stood there as she was writing something down. Little did I know, she was scheming up a way to get me to write this review. She was adding up some numbers. Then, she held up her phone (her calculator), & advises «If you want me to do your wedding on that Sunday, this is what it would cost you». The phone reads ‘$ 1750′ (for 7 girls, this should cost $ 875 per the salons brochure + a travel fee. let’s just say, at the most, it would be $ 950). I asked why — she replied that there is a travel+holiday fee (which she advised she was charging me twice for). **BRIDES** if ANY VENDOR is charging you an added $ 800 for travel & ‘holiday fee’, walk OUT: this is insane, unheard of, & quite honestly, insulting. Be smart about booking a stylist-​there will be someone out there who is friendly, reasonable and will WANT your business… this salon lost 3 customers today.

Lux Lounge is the best! Erica has been my hairdresser for over 10 years and she is fabulous and amazing. I used to go to her when she worked for Paul Kenneth Salon in Woburn, but now she opened her own place and it is awesome. It is super cute inside, it has a warm, cozy feel to it. Her prices are reasonable and she cares and loves what she does. I have never had anyone else be able to highlight or cut my hair as well as she does. She also does a great blow dry. I think Melissa and Sam the other stylists are great too, Melissa also used to work for Paul Kenneth. I would check it out! I highly recommend :)

This place is the best! Owner & Head Stylist Erika really knows her stuff! Amazingly relaxed atomosphere, yet very posh interior, make for a fabulous experience! Definitely stop into LUX LOUNGE if you enjoy looking your best :)

I am a former client of PK where Melissa was my stylists. She left PK and I could not find her. I finally found her at Lux Lounge. I finally have a great cut again. Lux Lounge is beautiful and very welcoming. I had such a great time during my cut and color that I didnt want to leave. My hair looks so fabulous and with all the compliments, I feel great.
