Three words for Lanza plumbing and Tom Lanza: Dependable, Experienced, Service-​Oriented. Prior to the big cold snap last week, my water heater broke and I knew I needed to get it fixed before the big freeze. Tom responded within an hour of my call and took care of everything so that I had my new water heater up and running later that day. He also is easy to communicate with and has done work for other folks I know who also vouch for his ability and his customer service. I highly recommend him.

Mr. Lanza came to my condo today and unclogged my toilet. He noticed that the water level was low and made the necessary adjustments. He found some chunks of porcelain in the tank and we are going to keep an eye on it. Very Satisfied.

On short notice, Tom came out to our newly purchased (not new) condo to install a new water line to the fridge — it was challenging as there wasn’t a water source nearby, installed a new toilet and sink vanity in a very old bathroom.
He was friendly, knowledgable and gave great advice in terms of what would work best with our older infrastructure.
His quote for services was spot on, no surprises.

My grandmother hired Tom to fix a leak above her bedroom. While working on the plumbing he put a small hole in the ceiling of the next room, which he plastered, albeit poorly. What he did not fix however, was the 2 – 3 sq ft. hole in her bedroom ceiling because as he put it «it was not his job requirement». He charged her 5,400.00!!! My grandmothers insurance agent came to inspect the work and stated the job should not have cost more than 1,500. Only after my Uncle called to berate Tom for the shoddy workmanship did he agree to refund 1500 $. The paid amount is still double what the insurance company quoted. Tom took advantage of a 77 year old woman. I am revolted by his lack of morals and hope this review will convince others not to support this conman.

Tom helped us through a crisis when a major basement pipe corroded underground, involving excavation and replacement, a big job for which he charged a very fair price, doing all work as quickly as humanly possible. He’s also helped us with a variety of other plumbing/​appliance issues and each time has made our lives a lot easier. I highly recommend him.

Tom Lanza has helped us with a couple of big and small projects — looking at some spillage from our hot water heater chimney, bolting a sink to the wall that kept falling and replacing our hot water heater. He was extremely responsive, very fair in his pricing, punctual and did the jobs and efficiently and well. We will use Tom again and would definitely recommend him to friends.

Discovered the expansion tank from our boiler was leaking. No wonder the shower wouldn’t get very hot. He was very flexible. Showed up when I was able to be here (within hours) and worked so quickly it was amazing. Diagnosed the problem right away and had it fixed within and hour. Very personable. Will definitely use Tom again.

I have used Tom Lanza twice… two hot water heaters that both went out on holiday weekends. Within 4 hours of my calls, they were replaced no muss and no fuss. Tom knows plumbing, and Tom also knows customer service. I would have given him a 5th star if his rates were a little more in line with other vendors. He is on the high side of acceptable, but it is important to factor in that the work is done right and there will be no call-​backs for problems. I certainly recommend him.

I have hired Tom for multiple plumbing issues over the past 10+ years.
Two water heaters, 2 disposals, leaky/​broken faucet and one major sewer pipe break in a wall. Tom always shows up and does a great job. Honest, reliable, and does great work. Did I mention he shows up?
What more can you ask for. I highly recommend him.

Called, problem explained with minimum amount of plumbing lingo required, name, address and phone number taken, told someone would be by within the hour…4:19 — came by in 2 hours but it was worth the wait. Tom is awesome… not only did he come in with a smile, but a positive attitude toward the job AND a reasonable rate for an emergency (let me tell you, we’ve been ripped off before…) Tom smiled throughout the job, listened to us complain and smiled some more. He gave us some great advice for future jobs that we assured him we would call him on.
There are other plumbers in Stoneham, I know of 2 of them and both have done work for me, but they don’t hold a candle to Tom.
If this is how a plumber is supposed to be, then I ask «TOM where have you been all of our homeowning life???»

I would recommend Tom Lanza to anyone, and he’s the first person I call if I ever have a plumbing/​heating problem. He’s very knowledgeable and articulate; professional, and his workmanship is excellent. He has done various plumbing work for me, including replacing a water heater. He also troubleshooted and repaired a section of the heating system, where the pipe was leaking inside the ceiling.

I heartily recommend Tom for any residential plumbing needs. He makes a home owner’s most difficult chores look easy. He is honest, dependable, and above all, great to work with. We have used Tom for 3 separate jobs over the last two years in Boston (and he services a number of other units in our building, as well), and while I can’t say I look forward to plumbing issues, I know that should any arise, Tom will take care of them. He work is impeccable — he returned a pedestal sink which was not finished to his liking, inconveniencing himself — while still keeping our project on track. It is a relief to have Tom on our team!
