Apple-Butter Bakery & Custom Cake Shoppe

Just found this place by accident. It is deceiving because it is unassuming outside but pretty inside. The cupcakes are the star of the place. I had the cookies and cream. Then the pineapple upside down. Both delicious!!! I will be back. I also got the cookies and brownies but I feel full right now. Saving it for later.

Love this place! It’s a little out of the way but I tell as many people as I can about it Bc it’s great. Try the key lime cupcake! You won’t be disappointed.

I had Apple-​Butter Bakery make a custom cupcake set to use for my proposal, and I could not have been happier.
For quite some time, I have spent much time searching for bakeries to carry out the task of making the best proposal cupcake set deserving of my fiancée. After an extensive search, I decided on the local Apple-​Butter Bakery run by a wonderful family.
Shellane worked with me extensively for an hour to figure out the details, suggest ideas, and help with the budget. I chose two flavors: Omnomnom (Apple $ 2.75 for each) and Red Declicious Cupcake (Red velvet $ 2.75 for each) that would spell out the words «Would you marry me?» For an whole hour, Shellane genuinely listened to all my ideas and concerns. In the end, we agreed upon a design, and she was almost as excited for me for the idea.
On the day of the proposal, everything work great in part thanks to Apple-​Butter Bakery. The other kicker was that this whole set of 6 custom cupcakes only costed me $ 25.13. I was at least expecting to spend $ 100 or more, but Apple-​Butter Bakery did an awesome job with less than half of the cost.
As for the taste, my fiancée and our families can attest to how delicious they were. Each bite of the cupcake was consistent with just the right level of sweetness and moisture. My favorite was the Omnomnom.
All in all, Apple-​Butter Bakery does an amazing job in taste, service, and price. Most importantly, the entire family team is passionate at what they do and genuinely care for their customers. You guys can already tell that they will be serving our wedding as well.

This was my first visit. I stopped by to grab a dozen cupcakes for a 4^th of July cookout. I got red velvet, key-​lime, cookies and crème, and carrot cake. The cost was $ 31+
The staff was nice. The place appeared to be clean, however, it smelled like old mop bucket water.
The cupcakes were not a hit. Carrot cake is my all-​time favorite cake flavor. The carrot cupcake tasted more like a bran muffin with carrots, icing and nuts. The nuts on the top of the cupcake did not taste fresh. It also tasted as if the cupcake may have previously been refrigerated for a couple of days.
I tasted the key-​lime cupcake and it was MUCH better than the carrot. My eight year old niece loved the cookies and crème cupcake. My mom and a guest both said the red-​velvet cupcakes were «OK.»
I really wanted to like this place because it’s closer to my home than any of the other cupcake places I love like CamiCakes, Piece of Cake, and Nothing Bundt Cakes. But needless to say, I’ll continue to travel for consistently good quality cupcakes.

Oh my gosh!!! The chocolate chip cookies have a buttery goodness that are melt in your mouth and the German chocolate cupcake was moist and the frosting was dreamy! Don’t hesitate to go here!!! Really really awesome!!!

This place is awesome. I walked in and was able to purchase 2 dozen cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday. Each flavor was yummy and delish in its own right. My favorite was the carrot cake. I wish I could support this place more but that would be too damaging my waistline. The customer service is always great.

I ordered a dozen cupcakes for the bridal shower I was hosting. Not only were they baked fresh that morning, but they were so cute and packaged adorably! Our favorites are the key lime, turtle, red velvet, and double chocolate! Everyone was raving about them! Highly highly recommend this place!

So I went in last saturday to try them out. I was greeted by the sweetest person working. Their customer service and reward policy was above average. As for the cupcakes I bought red velvet and vanilla cream. I loved the red velvet it was moist and not too sweet. The vanilla one was not moist and the frosting wasn’t to my liking so I didnt eat that one. I would love to try the chocolate flavors!

I have become addicted to the delicious cupcakes from this wonderful family run bakery. I tend to end my work week in this part of Stone Mountain and have made it a habit to bring home an assortment of unique exceptionally delicious cupcakes to enjoy over the weekend. This week it was a towering «Smore «cupcake which was almost too beautiful to eat! I found a way no doubt. Last week the «Tall Dark and Handsome» the chocolate Ganache frosting was like eating a great french chocolate truffle topped cupcake. The key Lime and Red Velvet are absolute favorites. If you want to bring something to a party, Shower or if your getting married and want to impress, treats and custom cakes from this bake shop will have everyone talking! Its definitely worth going out of your way for.

I could not be more proud to be a repeat customer of Shellane and team for our wedding this past August. Apple Butter Bakery more than outdid themselevs on our wedding day. We originally used them back in 09 for our custom design baby shower cake. So with planning a wedding from out of state it was so easy to trust her with everything I imagined for my wedding cake. Not only was it BEAUTIFUL, it was to die for; purple velvet (red velvet colored purple) never tasted so good! Not And I cake forget to mention the mini purple velvet cupcakes made to accent the cake. Oh the cheesecakes we my absolute favorite. I can say that for my guests too, they devoured them in 60 secs! My only regret with booking Apple Butter for my big day is that I didnt order more cheesecakes; four months later and my guests still rave about them! They delivered on time without an hiccup, I didnt even know she had been to the venue, as I was looking to at least thank all my vendors in person that day. I just happend to walk past my cake table prior to the ceremony starting and literally burst into tears; it was so perfect. She bought my cake vision to life! Book them then tell a freind!!!

Red Velvet cupcake was purchased as a birthday sweet for a friend. I tasted it and it’s all that and more! Very moist and tasty. The owners are super friendly and you can tell they care. I’m going back next week.

Cannot say enough good things about this place! I was tasked with planning an anniversary party for the company that I worked for and while we usually do cupcakes for get togethers for our anniversary I felt that we needed more of an attention getting piece. So after speaking to several different bakeries around Atlanta and sampling enough cupcakes and slices (I literally think icing was coming out of my eyeballs at one point) I settled on Apple Butter and I am so so glad that I did. Their store is so cute and charming. Their cupcakes are $ 2.75 and so very delicious. Super moist but not overly sweet like a Gigi’s. (Red Velvet and Key Lime are my favs!) After sampling one or eventually four of their cupcakes I decided to order a 3D cake of our company Logo (A bright pink mustache) not the easiest thing in the world to create at least that what other local bakers told me :/​In the end Apple butter created an amazing vanilla hot pink frosted fuzzy mustache cake that looked like the real thing at any given moment and was almost too pretty to eat! Almost! Shellane and company have a gem on their hands and I cannot wait to work with them again or just stop in for a cupcake and a Blackberry Izzy from time to time.

Mmmmm Delicious! The key lime and chocolate cream cupcake were heavenly. Both were moist and delicately sweet. My wife was so excited about discovering this place that she also got 2 chocolate chip cookies as well. The staff was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Everyone smiled and proved to be very engaging. The owners have raised the bar, it’s obvious to see their all about excellence.

I’ve been twice now and both times I’ve had great service and even better goodies. I’ve tried the vanilla bean and key lime cupcakes. I can’t say which is my favorite because they are both sooooo delicious. The vanilla bean is kind of like pound cake and super moist and not too sweet. The key like from the frosting to the cake was very moist and flavorful. The lime was tart and simply perfect.
Get there for some delicious sweets. You won’t be disappointed.

Holy cow — their cupcakes look amazing! All I could do was stare at them — red velvet, butter cream frosting — served in a cute brown box with a fork! I just got coffee because I am trying to stay away from sweets — and guess what they serve Octane coffee and do pour overs. This is great news and finally I have an awesome place to stop in what was a coffee desert between decatur and loganville! Sweet ladies who were working. They used to be in the Inman Park area. Their wedding cakes look amazing. Décor inside in fabulously shabby chic. I will definitely be coming back!

Can love be edible? Oh yes it can! Their desserts are so moist and full of flavor. It is like going back in time when grandma was baking! Also, none of their desserts have any junk in them. The owners do not use any preservatives or any other questionable ingredients. In fact they try to help their community by buying their ingredients locally. Unfortunately, they do not do gluten free. Pssst when you go in get their German chocolate cupcake, red velvet cupcake, and chocolate chip cookie. It’s so worth it!
