UYE – Stockton’s FIRST! at Centrale and AVE

On the 23^rd of April an epic event occurred in Stockton’s food scene. Hosted by Alma R. and Maureen G., Stockton’s first ever UYE was a hit! The gathering of the Unilocal community in Stockton was impressive, organized, exciting, and an overall outstanding experience.
Situated in a back private room at Stockton’s Centrale on the Miracle Mile fellow Unilocalers unite to share in this momentous occasion. The venue was absolutely perfect with it’s modern layout-​somewhat reminiscent of what you would find in the city. The bar was fully stocked with a knowledgeable bartender, and they offered a great wine list. Service was on par, and the food was a great culinary showcase of what Centrale has to offer. From cerviche, seafood three ways, to risotto and scallops, to steak sandwiches-​everyone seemed to really enjoy the food.
The event was a great way of showcasing what Unilocal has done in building communities. I hope this UYE is the first of many UYEs Stockton will have. Kudos to Alma R. and Maureen G. for organizing this fantastic event!

Stockton Unilocalland, We made history tonight at Centrale! This was the site for our very first (firstie) Stockton’s UYE Event! Unilocal folks, ya better get out the Unilocal event tab inserter for your new up and coming Unilocal market cuz, Stockton is «coming up». Stocktonian’s, have you often thought of our beloved «mile» as our very own «mid-​town»? Well, so do a number of proprietor’s, and supporters, many native Stocktonian’s that are willing to invest their hard earned dollars in this area that is really beginning to sparkle! The whole gang was there; a veritable list of who’s who in Stockton Unilocalland! Let’s see there was Alma R., Bubba N., Dave «the Chief» he’s an elite! And Anne and Maddie-​who I just loved-​so cute, young and smart-​you girls will go far!!! Then Mary and Brice and Eric, Rhea and Madelline… all the way from Pacifica-​You go Elite Girl! I haven’t had so much fun in ages! Oh, I digress. I had a vegetarian selection; a big red pepper filled to overflowing with rice, corn, tofu, smokey with the taste of the grill… Bobby Flay, eat your heart out! Nick our soon-​to-​be Pacific Grad (looking for a communication’s specialist employers?) was sweet, charming and a real looker. If you need a special meeting place and are tired of the never ending «chains» out there, Centrales may well be your next favorite pic.

I was at the first Unofficial Unilocal Event in Stockton today. This event was very fun! I think Stockton has better watch out because I know Stockton Unilocalers are so AWESOME! We will write reviews!

Wow, our first UYE! Nicely done Alma, and Maureen. Great pick for the location. I’d not been to Centrale, but be assured, I’ll be back! We had excellent service, the different dishes ran the gamut from outstanding appetizers to a veggie dish enjoyed by Maureen that was totally eye-​pleasing. Oh, and a Burger to make my list!
Our group ran from the seasoned citizen side to College students and recent grads. Maureen G. and Alma R did and outstanding job of putting this together, and it was wonderful to meet other Unilocalers from our area.

Five stars for Alma R. and Maureen G. for their efforts on getting this first UYE off the ground.
First class all the way from the restaurant and food to the custom Unilocal tshirts and name badges. Then there was the awesome cake that Alma provided for dessert.
It was great to meet fellow local Unilocalers in person… people that, to this point, were only on the computer!
Looking forward to our next event with even more people attending!

Big thanks to Maureen G. and Bubba N. for being my co-​organizers and holding it down with me! We were able to bring out a great set of folks and enjoy ourselves, our classy environment, and our food!
Centrale, and our server, Nick, were all extremely accomodating, even granting us the back room for the more special occasions. Even though we had to explain to them what Unilocal was about, it was fun to share and take loads of pictures with the amazingly drunken skills of Michael, a random customer at the bar who struggled to take decent pictures. I remember having to stop a few times to compose myself from laughing at his clumsiness.
The AVE was just as amazing. We were able to meet Kevin, the friendly and extremely inspiring owner, mover, and shaker in the Miracle Mile! Definitely need to return to that place. So swanky!
Anyway, I hope to see more of these things in the future! And more Stocktonians/​Central Valley residents in attendance!
