Sensei Tibon teaches a variety of fighting arts. GOJU means hard soft style of Karate. We use the hard style of Okinawan Japanese straight line fighting and the Soft style of Chinese Kempo and that which is angular or circular movements. Goju Ryu therefore has the best of both fighting traditions of Okinawan and Chinese.

History

Established in 1981.

Sensei Gene Tibon, a 6^th Degree International certified black belt under Goju Ryu Uchiage Kai, member of the Japan Karate Federation is also a 4^th generation martial artist. His great grandfather was a world class martial artist in the Filipino Martial Arts of Escrima. Sensei Tibon followed in his father’s footsteps and started training in Goju Ryu Japanese Karate. He opened this Karate School, the headquarters for all of his satellite karate schools almost 30 years ago, and now owns the building. Our teaching has produced 60 athletes selected to Team USA, and over 215 National, 162 International, and 50 Pan-​Am champions. Our real talent is producing champions in life skill applications.
