The Gift of Speech offers a wide range of clinical speech and language services for both pediatric and adult populations. The Gift of Speech believes communication occurs in a variety of abilities and is vital to success in life. Services include consultation, evaluation, and intervention in the following areas:

Services are funded privately as well as through some medical insurances. Contracting with both public and charter schools enables The Gift of Speech to support local schools in meeting the state and federal requirements for their students.

History

Established in 2005.

After gaining experience within a variety of settings (school, hospital and skilled nursing facilities), Tracey and Kara met while working in the public school sector. They established The Gift of Speech with the vision of providing skilled and professional services to both pediatric and adult populations.

Our pathologists have worked in a variety of settings including schools, skilled nursing facilities and hospitals. They specialize in the evaluation and treatment of speech and language disorders in both the pediatric and adult population.

Tracey McDonnell, M.A., CCC-​SLP

Tracey McDonnell is a graduate of California State University, Fresno and received a Master of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders with an emphasis in Speech Pathology from University of the Pacific in 1993.

Kara Ulricksen, M.S., CCC-​SLP

CA License# 14 416

Kara Ulricksen is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento and received a Master of Science degree in Speech Pathology from University of the Pacific in 2003.
