The B Hive

This review is about a year late, but since I’ve become an avid Unilocaler, I thought I’d share about my last experience here. I’ve had the same stylist off and on for about six to eight years, maybe, and the primary reason I liked her was because I was in and out quick. I’m not too fond of sitting in a chair for several hours. My hair was in its natural state at the time and I wanted to do a little ombré, but nothing too intense. I still wanted a natural look.
Once my hair was washed and she (Sandy) started blow drying it, I could tell the color wasn’t what I expected. You could see it in the expression in my face. It looked like half my hair was dyed dark orange. When I said it didn’t look like it did last summer her response was «once you style it and part it, it will look better». She said once I got home if I didn’t like it she could tone it the next day. She was too rushed to get me out of there to fix it at that precise moment. If someone doesn’t seem too happy with how their hair looks then maybe you should try to rectify it at that moment. All in all I had to eat $ 75 once I told her I wouldn’t be coming back the next day. No apologies or attempts to fix it. I found another salon that day to fix it the next business day. I rather go somewhere else knowing someone would see the urgency to fix it right away.

This was my first experience with this salon after reading all the glowing reviews I decided to book an appointment since my stylist was booked for a month. First let me start by saying Sarah C. Is really nice, friendly, she requested I text pics so she could get an idea of what I was looking for so I walked in feeling confident and at ease with her. The salon itself is nice a little dated in décor and I know it’s not the Bay Area or Hairrion’s in Los Angeles but a pet peeve is seeing stylist in flip flops not cute sandals but flip flops I realize there on their feet a lot but still too casual plus don’t get me started on the stylist with the man bun. I was greeted offered beverages so because of her customer service I’m giving it 3 stars. As far as color I was not pleased I realize and told her I don’t expect the exact replica of my picture but just overall feel and colors after three hours and 155.00 I left there unhappy I didn’t even tip which I always do I could not speak I texted her after I got home apologized for leaving so abruptly and explained that I was unhappy to her credit she immediately texted me to please allow her to make it right and scheduled me to come back the following week. So back I went, no one greeted me or was at the front desk I needed water and the minute I got near the dispenser a gentlemen came running up and asked me if I knew what I was doing I said yes I’m pushing the water icon placing my cup under it and getting water which I would not have helped myself too if there was a receptionist at the front desk to greet me. Overall Sarah is a nice person has great customer service skills and wanted me to be happy so a big for her. she did add in contrasting colors so it did not look like it was just one red color, it still was not the color scheme I wanted or the placement of colors I wanted but I can live with it. Because of her great customer service I gave her three stars but I cannot give 5 stars overall because of the color fail. We just did not vibe I wish her well but I will not be returning to B Hive.

I had my stylist fir 8 years and after she moved i did my research on saloons and fell upon the B-​hive. I Went in to get highlights and cut with Jackie this past Saturday and I absolutely loved her! She’s very professional and knows what she’s doing. Very pleasant and personable. I told her what I wanted and she delivered exactly my request. I will be going to her from here on it.

My family and I have been going to Briana for years. She is meticulous, very professional, and very patient with my squirmy 4-​year old. I have a son with autism, who has grown from being terrified of haircuts to now sitting calmly in her chair. Briana knows our family and really cares about her clients. I think this is what sets her apart. She also listens carefully to what you want, and does a consistently fabulous job with cut and color. I also love how she styles hair– whether it’s curls, or straightening, or blow dry, she can do it all!

From the first time I had my hair done here, the staff has been so friendly– they even called to check up on me after my appointment. Chelsea has been doing my hair for a couple years now and she is amazing! I always love what she does, and she seems to know exactly what I want without me having to say very much. I’m a baby when it comes to trims too so she never cuts off more than she needs to. She’s pretty busy but she always makes sure to fit me in and remembers the things we talked about even 4 – 6 months later. I completely trust her with my hair because she always does a great job!
In terms of price, I usually get blonde highlights/​lowlights and they run ~$ 80. Last time I went it I had a balayage done and I think it was ~$ 100. I’ve gotten my eyebrows done here too and it’s $ 15 – 20.

Nelly is awesome! She fixed the bad dye job from the previous person who did my hair. My hair feels and looks great! Nelly is so friendly and makes you feel very welcomed. She listens to what you want and always delivers great reaults! I highly recommend her.

I had my second experience at the B Hive a couple of days ago. The first experience was great, but unfortunately when I called for my next appointment the hairstylist was no longer there. My appointment was then booked with Sarah Coronado. I was not disappointed. She was great! She listened and completely got it right! I love it! I liked the fact that she explained the whole process along the way. She was friendly and pleasant. One thing I’d like to point out though, is that when I walked in no one greeted or acknowledged me. Clearly there was no receptionist on duty and yes, the hairstylists that were there were working on clients but a quick «Hi who’s your appointment with?» would of sufficed. As I read in a previous review, it almost seemed like they avoided eye contact and didn’t want to bother. That being said, when Sarah was working on my hair, several people walked in and she greeted and acknowledged them with a smile so it’s clearly not impossible. I work in a similar setting and know that a smile and greeting goes a long way! So thanks Sarah for taking that extra step! Did I mention I loved the results?

So I came here and sat down and literally no one greets you at all! The person I’m waiting for I have no idea if she’s here and there is no one to ask. All the hair dressers are busy or seem to be avoiding eye contact with me so they don’t have to acknowledge me! Soooooo irritated right now. Of course that’s Stockton for ya!

Went in for a haircut. Whenever I had a haircut, blow dry is always included in the price but at beehive, just the haircut is around $ 40 and I was surprised that with blow dry and flat iron it would cost me $ 75. That haircut is not worth $ 75 and if I wanted to get an expensive haircut, I would have gone to the bay. In fact I get amazing hair cut from the Bay Area for just $ 35 with blow dry and flat iron included. When I walked out of beehive afer my haircut, I was covered with hair all over my body which was very annoying.

So I came in here to get my hair done, and I figured if I spent $ 200 then it should be a lot better than what I came in with. Also, Chelsea had so many pictures of great reviews. I came in with really brassy hair, and I was so confident that this was going to do wonders.
My appointment was at 2 o’clock and i left around six. She begins by re bleaching and foiling my entire head. She also paints a darker color to give my hair the «balayage» effect. I leave the salon with the same color I came in with, hardly a difference. I had a bunch of uneven patches from her paint job. And I also had a bunch of bleach spots from splattered bleach throughout my hair that the next stylist fixed. My roots were dark but my baby hairs on my left hand side were somehow or bleached. And I also really choppy haircut. To make matters worse, after my 45 $ haircut, that comes with a style. She has an assistant style my hair, he had no idea how to 1. blowdry and 2. Flat iron hair. I literally left the salon wanting to cry.
I returned to the shop to bring her my cash tip, because I didn’t tip her on my card and also to express my concerns about my hair. To my disappointment she wasn’t there, so I texted her. I texted her and she responded to me by Giving me a long in-​depth explanation.
I don’t know about most people, but usually when a customer is concerned about her hair, the stylist usually wants to do what she can to fix it. But in this case, there was no action.
I also felt pretty rushed because she had 2 other loyal clients come in. I scheduled this appointment three weeks in advance, so I was hoping that I would be given as much time and attention. I was paying $ 50 an hour and had no problem with paying more for my satisfaction. Overall, I think Chelsea is a wonderful person, but I was not satisfied with her service.
I originally didn’t want to write a review because Chelsea was such a nice person, but I rather save people $ 200.
A few weeks later I ended up going to Salon Allure and Sonya did such an amazing job, she gave me wonderful gold locks, and when the first bleach job didn’t go exactly how I wanted, she spent an extra half an hour to fix it. She also told me that within the next two weeks if I wasn’t satisfied that she would fix it for free. Oh and she was also half the price what I paid here.

So while I had an amazing experience my first time around as stated in my previous review, when I had gone back for my touch up, I literally came out looking like Storm from XMen. My hair was so light it was almost white and not to mention the blue/​grey hue I had from the toner. My hair was so horrible I could barely get ready the next morning. The sad part is that I had to go just basically eat the $ 95 and go to target the next day and buy a $ 3 brown box to get rid of what she did! Oh and just a side note I’m not the first person to have my blonde hair color messed up at the BHive, my mother in laws hair turned out that way as well.

On August 1^st I had one of the worst haircuts I have ever had from Sarah C. She cut it so short and thinned it so much that even after 2 weeks it is still very difficult to make it look presentable.
I will never go to this salon again.

I read all of the reviews on Unilocal before calling to make an appointment. I decided to go with Chelsea & I was not disappointed! She is amazing and very nice! I absolutely love my hair!!! I wasn’t really sure how to describe what I wanted but I showed her a picture and we went from there. She gave me exactly what I wanted. I finally found someone I can trust to do my hair and it is the best feeling in the world! Lol.

I love Brady, Brady is the best hairdresser I have met in San Joaquin ! Brady is considerate to customers, asking me what I want done, what color, what haircut, hairstyle first, before he proceeds. Brady gets it right away as to how I want it done. He is full of hair expertise experience, I have know him since he was Bella Gente, doing some awesome hair artworks as great talent. Humble and caring Brady treats customers in his hair salon at Beehive with respect, they offer drinks as you start your service. I have heard he is caring also to his colleague hairdressers too in the shop .
Deydra being the hair salon manager, helps in bringing glory to the Bee Hive salon also, by being sweet, efficient to customers and to the salon hairdressers too. I have met Christina Mata as one of the hairdressers, real sweet lady, good with hair colors too .

Just got a cut with Dumitru and it turned out awesome! Great stylist who takes his time to insure that your hair comes out perfect and the way you want it to look. I would recommend him any day! I will definitely be going back to him in a few weeks!

Saw Sarah C here for a brazilian blowout and cut. She is awesome. Blowout came with full size shampoo and conditioner. FOR 150.00. Super afordable and well done. I am going back this week for a color service. Sarah is easy to talk to and friendly. Book an appointment… STAT. Your hair will thank you.

I love Chelsea she’s been doing my hair for a couple months now & I always leave happy. she’s also done my lashes and they are amazing!

I have always been paranoid about people touching my hair, I have very thick hair and tons of it (thank God!). In the past I haven’t had many good experiences with the outcome of my hair color, however I must say I was very happily surprised how much I loved my hair color after I had it colored by Sarah Coronado! She was great, made me feel at easy and explained to me in detail what she was doing. She’s great!!!

What can I say other than the services I have received here are always SUPERB!!! Ask for SARA CORONADO, she has the magic hands. My daughters and I have been going to her for a while now and every time she gets her hands on us we come out with smiles on our face and AMAZING HAIR!!!

Definitely the best experience I’ve had at a salon! Especially for me coming here the first time! Right when I came in, Sarah C. greeted me with a handshake & already knew my name! I had just got my hair done a few days ago & it didn’t come out the way I wanted. My hair was really dark with some streaks of Carmel brown & I was trying to achieve a blonde ombré that started really high. She really knew what she was doing & was asking me all the right questions about my hair. As she was working her magic, we started talking about food & with me being hungry at the time, she even fed me & gave me a sandwich! She’s so nice & sweet & it definitely wasn’t awkward sitting in the chair. On top of it all my hair came out perfectly blonde for a great price! My new favorite salon & stylist thanks to Sarah!
