i come here a lot with my best friend and we always order the same thing all the time. rice and beans and carne asada tacos. the prices are great for portions of food given! i’ve always had a decent experience coming here because seriously their tacos are sooooo bomb but lately they have been greedy with their meat so there’s that. their rice and beans still hit the spot though. those two orders are enough to get me full and it’s under $ 10. i love how lowkey this spot is. it’s not too loud. it’s chill and it feels comfortable giving off a «home» vibe. no judgment is made at this restaurant. the only thing that needs to be fixed is their soda machine thingy. i ordered soda once from there and never again because it tasted flat like cheap and watered down. it was disgusting i had to go next door to buy a coke. they need to upgrade their machine! other than that i love this place. 3⁄5 stars.

Free chips abd great salsa bar. The super size large drinks with free refills are a plus. The food was OK but im not a super huge fan of mexican food but my babies love it so I’ll give 4 stars for a hardy meal… And a clean bathroom!

Lots of seating. Friendly service. Variety of fountain drinks including sangria, horchata, guava, tamarind, and pina with free refills when dining in. Popsicles for 75-cents after your meal. Plentiful Salsa bar complete with radishes, cucumbers, and limes. First time eating here a couple days ago with family. We had so many leftovers due to such huge portions! So much to choose from: breakfast-all-day to fajitas to gringo and authentic tacos.

Amazing! The portion size is definitely worth the price. The food is great. They gave us free chips and salsa to take home. We’ll definitely be going there again.

I’ve only eaten chicken salads. Good Size portion. Very tasty and fresh. Shredded chicken fresh affordable. Cleaning is on point. Customer service fast. Decent hours. Bad area. But that does not affect the rating.

Was next door ordering food for a family function and slipped in for lunch. The chile colorado is bar none, the best I’ve had in town. In a bright red sauce, a nice side of rice beans salad and salad, more than I could eat! Nice packet of four hot tortillas finished a great lunch.

I ordered the supreme burrito and man was it SUPREME! Even though it was delicious, I wasn’t even able to finish half. The agua de horchata is very tasty also, and it’s free refills! Can’t complain about that! I really liked the chips and salsa as well. I will definitely be coming back. If you’re looking for good food at a really good price, this is definitely the place to visit!

Inexpensive but also very good. The portion sizes are generous and I almost always have left overs. Highly recommend#

Apparently Stockton only has rancid Mexican and fast food. Chimichanga was straight rice and carne asda that tasted like canned cat food. I left after 3 bites stopping myself from dumping it all over the floor. Taco Bell here I come, what a waste of 10 bucks. Beware: must eat while on toilet.

So this place is my go-to taqueria when I’m in Stockton and I’m craving good, inexpensive Mexican food. It’s a hangout for students and locals — including Stockton PD. I’m yet to try something that hasn’t been pretty good and really cheap. It’s crowded around lunch time; so, I time my visits during off-peak hours(preferably in the morning). You can get your food however you want it, but hopefully you want BIG portions(the wet burrito weighs in at 2.5 pounds – good enough for two meals). My favorite is the bacon breakfast burrito. It’s ginormous, and who doesn’t like bacon, eggs, potatoes and cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla? To avoid weighing in like an NFL defensive lineman, I limit my visits to once a week. It’s tough to do. A huge salsa bar with all kinds of treats, free chips when you eat in, and always great, quick, friendly service. I’m a fan of Taqueria Carolinas.

This has become one of my favorite Taquerias in Stockton. I would actually rate it a 3.5 star. I love their salsa bar. All of the salsas are top notch and are some of the best I have ever had. They also serve FREE warm tortilla chips which is not typical of a taqueria. The food is really good, authentic and inexpensive. My go to is their Quesadilla Suiza with either pastor or asada. Its big, good and only $ 5.00. I consider myself a taco truck/Mexican food connoisseur and this is up there. Also every time I come here there are several spanish speaking viejitos here too… That’s always a good sign for Mexican food. :) I haven’t tried a lot of dishes here but what I have ate, made it worth coming back. It’s kind of tucked away in the shopping center(March/Pershing in the In Shape City gym parking lot next to Davinci’s) so you may have not heard of it or seen it. Definitely worth checking out.

I love, love, love this place. I come here probably once or twice a month and have for years. The food is always tasty, there is a seriously awesome self-serve salsa bar and it’s always clean. It can get busy but the food is always consistently good and the prices can’t really be beat. UPDATE: The chips are still all-you-can-eat, but you do have to ask for them now. I usually get the flautas with chicken. My husband almost always gets the Carolina plate(shrimp, steak and chicken!) and recommends it highly.

Taqueria Carolina on Perishing Ave in Stockton, California. Unilocal Challenge 03⁄100 Tip: All you can eat chips and salsa, just grab them and don’t be shy :) Pro tip: All you can drink Horchata, it’s hella good por favor believe it. Major league tip: All you can drink soda and they have a little water station. G tip: «Gucci» stands for good or hella good. So my primo Javier invited me out to one of his spots for a early Birthday dinner. I’ve been here like once way back in the dizay. So I couldn’t remember what’s what. We rolled up like Pancho Villa & Emiliano Zapata. There was a bit of line, but we wasn’t tripping, I was grooving to the ranchera music over the loudspeaker. So I was feeling it and checking out Telemundo on one of their TVs. It was some type of game show, I was just stuck like Chuck because there was a bunch of girls dancing in their bikinis. I was like what the heck? I got the music, I got hynas dancing on TV and I’m about to get some nachos yep yep. So my cousin ordered a chicken burrito with shrimp and I ordered nachos with grilled chicken. We also ordered two drinks. We were given a number and then was told to help ourselves with his many chips and salsa as we want it. We then proceeded to the salsa cart grabbed a bunch of salsa and headed towards our table. We chopped it up about this and that and before we knew it, our food came. The front counter girl who took our order also served us our food. What was awesome was that she gave service with a smile. I took one look at the nachos and I was like«WOW, I’m about to get my chubby on». My cousins burrito was pretty massive too and it looked off the hook. I’ll say this! *The nachos are certified Gucci*. After I killed it like a savage, I felt like I was in a comatose state where I couldn’t leave my seat. Believe me I didn’t want to start the new years off like this. Loco tip: Gordo means fat :) My cousins burrito was so gordo he could only eat half of it. So we posted up for a bit to regain consciousness. I had a wonderful time here with my cousin. It was cool to do something a little different before my birthday party really began. I’m glad we didn’t order any cerveza our else it would’ve been a wrap. So hell yeah I’m going to be back very very soon. Vincent D aka VD aka Vebola aka Vincent Vega. When I was in high school, I would always walk by this place when going to Burger King or to the Dollar Tree, and I always wonder what it’s like. Being poor, I don’t get to just eat anywhere. Taquerias have always been my favorites, but they’re unfortunately out of my price range, as I usually just can’t justify spending 7 dollars on a meal. So, during my freshman year of college, financial aid gave me the ability to eat out more, so I decided to try out this place and let me tell you, I’m very glad I did. For seven bucks, you get a huge freaking burrito. I’m talking HUGE. I eat a lot of super burritos and christ, this thing is massive. Packed full of meat, rice, beans, guac, sour cream, onions, cilantro, and cheese. omfg paradise. It had that nice taqueria taste, which I think is a lot more refined and«proper» when compared to the rugged taste of a taco truck burrito. The tomatoes are a little unusual for me, most taquerias I visit don’t normally put them in. I love tomatoes, so it’s a welcome addition! If you’re a student and you have a student ID(Stagg students, this means you! I think UoP gives them to you but you have to buy them at Delta) then you’ll get a free drink when you spend five quid. If you drink a lot of soda, I think this is the best value, because the truck across the street doesn’t serve soda, so you’ll have to get a bottled one across the street at 7 – 11. It’ll still come to around seven bucks, but here, I can just get both at the same time. Plus this place takes cards, which is even nicer. The people who work there are also really friendly and understanding. I accidentally ripped my cup open(it was made of Styrofoam and I wasn’t sure if the lid was on tight enough…) and made a huge mess, and I was bummed out because I had to walk home with no drink, but the lady who took my order gave me another cup. :) I was very happy about that. In short, if I want something awesome for a good price, this is my first stop.

My husband and I enjoy coming here when we need a fast, cheap, filling lunch. We’ve probably been here close to ten times now. It’s not the most gourmet food in the world, but it is satisfying! As has been mentioned in other reviews, the portions are huge, and the prices are really inexpensive. So it’s great for a large meal at a low price. I love the beef enchiladas. As a plus, college students get an additional discount.

Decent place for Mexican food cravings. Food: size are huge. I mean giant burritos and large portion everything. Taste, is good enough, not authentic Spanish/Mexican flavors due to western touch on most of the items. The salsa bar is a thumbs up, you can get much salsa or jalapeños, like literally a salsa buffet. Place: very clean and well maintained. Place has been around for a long time but still neat and kept clean. Service: good, extra smile will be really nice. Overall, I would go back to this place every now and then. But still can’t beat some taco and burrito trucks.

Carolina’s is my favorite taqueria in town! The service is super fast — by the time I fill up my soda, check out the delicious salsa bar, and sit down and enjoy a couple chips(free chips, nonetheless, with the free salsa bar!), they are already bringing out a piping hot plate of deliciousness. Usually I get a wet burrito that my boyfriends refers to as «the pillow» because it’s so large. Seriously, it’s probably two meals. Recently I branched out and tried their chicken enchiladas and was very happy with what I got. The rice and beans were perfect, and the enchiladas weren’t overstuffed. Plus, it was a lunch special… so for only $ 6.99(I think, don’t quote me on that — if not that exact price it’s somewhere in that inexpensive ballpark) I received chips and a multitude of salsas, pico, and guac, plus a two enchiladas with rice and beans that is equivalent to a regular dinner plate, and a soda! Great place!

I came in for a lunch break with my coworker Katie after hearing her talk about how much she absolutely loves it. The woman at the front greeted us with a smile and got our orders quickly. I got the super burrito with beef and extra cilantro because I love cilantro, and this thing is HUGE! The burrito was actually bigger than my head! I loved that they had free tortilla chips and a salsa bar, I do wish they had some spicier salsas though. I tried most of them and even drizzled some on my burrito for some extra flavor. With the tortilla chips and giant burrito I was full before I even got halfway through the burrito. Yay leftovers! The price was comparable to chipotle and was much bigger tasted great. You should check them out and I’ll be back to try more of their menu!

3÷24÷14 — First time and last time here. Ordered a super burrito but it did not hit it off with me. No taste, and I bit into a big chunk of meat, that probably would have choked me. I could not finish it, so I know I better grab some dessert somewhere. Then to top it off, some of the staff were eating and there were tables that needed to be cleaned. For some one like myself, that speaks volumes because the place is not that big.(17 tables)
