In-Shape: Stockton West Lane

I just have to say I choose not to work out any longer at the West Ln club! The customer service I received from this girl named Ida was horrible! I will continue to go to the Quail Lakes gym. I hope other people will complain about her! West Ln Please train her in customer service cause it sucks!!! Your review helps others learn about great local businesses.

Great gym, the people are nice and respectful. The only negative thing about this place is their cardio room. Their ellipticals and treadmills are old and most have issues.

Enjoy having this gym close to my house! I can usually get in and out every time I go without an getting interrupted. If you ever have an issue go to Mike, the membership advisor, he helped me with and issue, I was having with my membership, and on top of that I referred my friend and she got a great deal. He got me a $ 25 gift card!

Love this gym and also downtown as well. U-​jam has been my favourite class for the past 3 years. Love Doris, Nikki, Holly, Chelsea and Omar! Would love if you could add a Thursday evening U-​jam class! It’s my only evening free and I don’t see any U-​jam classes on that night ;)

I don’t usually give comments but the instructors here are AWESOME! Is worth to try a class with Ruby (cycling), Doris (Budy Pump and Yoga instructor), Angela (Body pump and yoga instructor), and Antonio (cycling). These people are the reason why I don’t stop coming to their classes. These people are amazing instructors and classes are so fun!!! Love it! Also staff is pretty friendly.

It’s a nice gym if people weren’t disgusting leaving their used paper towels and gum on the machines. Like come on people be respectful. I bet at home, you aren’t as disgusting, but maybe I’m wrong. It’s like really hot musty. I don’t feel any air circulating upstairs in the cardio room.

In-​Shape West Lane is like a second home to me. I play racquetball at this club a lot but it has so much more to offer… Nine racquetball/​handball courts, a huge cardio and weight room plus a giant pool. Not to mention 14 tennis courts if not more and a staff of awesome people. The GM Joe Schillace is very nice, as well as Activities Director Ida Lopez and Front Desk Lead Denise Lupian. If you’ve never been here, it’s definitely worth the try. Enjoy!

The staff at the Westlane Inshape Facility is by far the best. They are continuously striving to become more aware of the members needs and wants. Questions are easily answered and any issues handled in a timely manor. I highly recommend this Facility to you and your family.

I had the worst experience with corporate office this morning I called them about my account they withdrawal $ 159.98 from my credit card without my authorizes when I question them about it they said it was late fees something that I didn’t have no idea that was going on with my account. They kept transferring me and putting me on hold when I asked to speak to a supervisor !! Then I spoke with Erin and she was being rude refuse to help me she was talking over me when I was asking to speak to a supervisor she hangs up on me when I was still talking !!! I called right back and this time they transfer me to a manager !! All I want it from them was a full refund of $ 159.98 that I didn’t authorize them to pull out from my credit card. I canceled my membership due to the manner that I had to deal with them today. And I still didn’t get a refund which I think its ridiculous !!!

Called for information about the memberships, since it’s not offered online. And spoke to «Blake.»
First of all, he didn’t even answer the call professionally. All he said was hello, as if he was the one calling me. I told him I wanted information. He didn’t tell me the types of memberships, he just said they had them. I don’t know why he’s answering phone calls if he can’t even carry a conversation. I wanted information and all he was worried about was «how did I hear about them.» Waste of my time. Put Blake in another department.

Nice set up. Spacious with many rooms for cardio, cycling and classes. Many of them you can use if no class is going on. Everything looks clean. I see people employees cleaning constantly. 2 racquet ball courts big ads pool and 20 person hot tub. Sauna and steam. I would say what really lacks is the free weight section. The only pec deck machine has been broken I’ve noticed for about a week. If it’s the only one in the gym I would think they’d want to get it fixed asap. Have to ask about that next time. Definatlet need 1 more cable pulleys for chest flys etc. There’s only one old one that you can’t even change the height, like wth? This is a new gym? Daycare is a plus at $ 12 for the month!

Well I’m going to be this gyms first 5 star review! I’ve been going to this gym almost everyday for 3 – 4 years! So I’ve seen the good, bad, and ugly! It’s a good location, they have added parking and a patrol guy (BRAULIO) so I think break ins are minimal… He’s always out there keeping an eye on things! Great job! It’s a very clean gym. And it’s the only one of Inshape’s gyms that has family showers so that’s a few pluses! The staff is great usually a few bad ones come and go, I think they have only healed on to one bad one hopefully she weeded out soon LOL… Huge pool, sauna lots of equipment but as the newer gyms keep updating this one seems to be lacking. I hope they start updating stuff soon to keep up… I will add to my review as I see more updates or progress :-)

I always come to this gym before I got a 24 hour one but its a good gym. Great environment.

I had a membership with this gym from for years and am now reminded as to why opted not to extend my membership. The location is too sketchy for my taste. Also, trying to dodge cars as I enter the gym is a pre-​workout already. Please be careful when in the parking lot. The layout is pretty organized with machines upstairs and weights downstairs.
The staff overall are pretty friendly with their hellos. The pool is pretty fun for afternoons but avoid coming on weekends if you don’t like kids. I really don’t like getting my towel wet because an idiot kids sits on it.
Only home for the weekend so thought I’d try their Free 7 day pass.

They lay out is a bit odd but its the closest to home. The mornings are very empty and the evenings are very packed. Standard equiptment and classes avalible.

The customer service is as bad as it gets! Mangers are unwilling to even talk to you over the phone. They refer you a membership center where they don’t answer the phone. Machine are always broken. They charge a premium, then I should expect a premium gym right! This place has the potential to be a great gym, but it is being Manage wrong. Wish them the best but I can’t see my self coming here much longer with this bad service!

WTFdid I walk into? Some sort of maze?! Don’t fall down the rabbit hole while looking for the weight room! It’s such a weird gym, I am not quite sure what it was before it was a gym but it certainly couldn’t have been built this way. If you like large open spaces don’t come here! They don’t have tons of equipment so don’t come here when its busy otherwise you may find yourself waiting to use something which could mess up your timing doing a circuit. Employees weren’t too nice, they weren’t rude but they didn’t really seem to like their job. Bottom line, they need to upgrade or build a new gym on this side of town until then I would recommend other places.

In-​Shape… how I have a love/​hate relationship with you…
THE GOOD:
I LOVE the staff here, they are so friendly (that may have to do with the fact that I pay for a membership, training, and tanning)…
And the Kids Gym here is phenomenal. all of the workers seem to genuinely love working with kids and they are all very attentive. They also have daily crafts that they do with the kids (painting, jewelry making, etc.)
You are limited to a 2 hour window per day to have your children at the Kids Gym.
I LOVE my personal trainer, her name is Kelsey and she is the best! She helps me with food choices, tracks my weight loss and measurements, and formulates great weekly workouts that are PERFECT for me :)
The pool here is HUGE, always kept clean… and they even have a cute kiddie pool (it goes from 1foot-​3feet)
There are always an abundance of cardio machines, and people are usually good about wiping them down after use so the machines stay fairly clean.
THE BAD:
-*BEWARE*-: EVERYTHING at In-​Shape comes with a contract… The membership itself is generally a one year contract which you will NOT be able to get out of (trust me, I’ve heard horror stories)… Tanning also comes with a contract… and Personal Training, this also comes with a contract (usually an 8 month contract which you will NOT be able to get out of since the actual personal training is billed through an out sourced company not even located in California)…
The stretching/​ab area upstairs is always a sad place… Mismatched weights, random people hanging out on the mats texting or talking on their cell phones (basically taking up space), and the balance balls are always severely deflated…
Very limited classes offered here, and the class room size is kinda small for the amount of people that attend.
THE UGLY:
The tanning rooms are horrible, you have to clean the beds yourself, and most people do not clean them after use… and the actual rooms are extremely shabby. The rooms are located right next to the weight room and right below the stretching area and class area so it is soooo noisy. For a 3 month CONTRACT to tan, I pay $ 30 a month. I wish I would have opted for an actual tanning salon.
If you are a woman… PREPARE to be hit on by some scary characters… Anytime after 5pm, it is seriously like a meat market and men are sizing you up and most will say inappropriate comments to you.
Location… it is reallly in the HOOD!
