Where do I start with Joe Deborba! From the moment I met him at the bridal fair at the Waterfront Hotel in Stockton he had this excitement for me and my future husband! You could tell that Joe loves what he does!
We met with a few other DJs, but no one really measured up to the type of service that Joe was offering so we decided to meet up and talk about our big day.
Joe explained EVERYTHING in great detail, answered all of our questions and even gave suggestions! He never pressured us into booking him and he gave us some time to think about. Long story short, we ended up booking him and it was the best decision ever!
From that day on, Joe was consistently communicating with us and even had an AWESOME website where we loaded all of our song choices and wedding day timeline which he was a HUGE help in assisting with.
Not going to lie, as a young African American couple, my husband was a little nervous that he wouldn’t play a lot of the newer hip hop and R&B that he likes. I assured him that Joe was great and would play music that we both love!
And boy was my husband surprised. Joe played allll the old school music up to the new current music! We had a mixed crowd from young-​old and Everyone at the wedding kept saying how GREAT of a job he was doing! Our guest stayed on the dance floor all night and didn’t want the music to end! My husband and I LOVED him.
Not only did he provide the music, but he provided the uplighting as well, and it transformed our room into a magical space! I couldn’t believe how gorgeous the reception space looked!
Joe was so patient with my crazy group of friends lol, he was not only an Emcee, but he made sure everyone stayed on time with our schedule and he also made sure that he coordinated with our photographers so that they got shots of all of our special moments.
I cannot say enough great things about Joe. So if you’re considering him for your wedding, please take my word for it. He’s amazing!

My husband and I would recommend Joe and DeBorba Events to anyone looking for an amazing event for any occasion. Joe was thoughtful, personable, timely, and extremely helpful with suggestions. He was not just our DJ, he was our MC for our wedding reception and helped it flow without a hitch, from keeping the buffet line moving, to moving into our cake cutting and first dance. Our guests, along with my husband and I, could not stay off the dance floor (we even asked Joe to DJ for another hour!) thanks to his great soundtrack! I can confidently say that you will not be disappointed by choosing Joe and DeBorba Events for your next occasion!

Joe is such a rockstar! I initially found him at a 4^th of July Country Club event. My-​then-​boyfriend and I loved the show and decided to take his card «in case we had an event to use him for» :-) Skip ahead 2 years and we found the card for our wedding reception.
From our initial meeting, Joe was thorough and professional, yet someone we already considered a friend because we were so comfortable with him. Even with my event planning background, he brought up some details to incorporate that I hadn’t thought of. Pure Genius! It was so important to me that I have a fun PARTY on the dancefloor. And that’s exactly what we had! 180 people ranging from our parent’s older friends to 20+ firefighters to our college friends all dancing the night away!
Anyone can play music… but a true dj and MC is hard to find. They truly make the party and Joe did not disappoint one bit!
Since our wedding we have used Joe for a few other small parties and even a golf tournament. He never disappoints!

Joe was the first vendor I booked and I was more than amazed with how awesome he was!!! He was in contact for months before and anytime we emailed him, he was so prompt to reply :) He truly made our wedding an amazing experience! He was organized, one time, awesome at blending music, kind, fun and just perfect!!! I’m so happy with our choice! Joe Deborba is the best Dj, lighting and just overall person! Thank you for making our day so perfect! He went above and beyond and I would recommend him any day of the week!!!

We hired Joe to DJ at our wedding at the River Mill. He did an awesome job!!! He was very easy to work with and very organized. If I had a question he got back to me in a timely manner which calmed my nerves. The day of the wedding went smoothly. Joe kept us in the loop with a timeline and made everything flow. Not only is he a good DJ but he is helpful with the planning. I had nothing to worry about and had an amazing time at our wedding. I could not recommend him more. Great mix of music for the whole wedding experience!

So I got Joe Debora to be my DJ at our wedding and I was stressing out becoming a Bridezilla and Joe who stayed calm totally helped us out. He organized the bridal party and was very friendly.
I am not sure what we would have done without him. I didn’t give him much to work with and he did an excellent job with what I gave him. He chose music that all ages could enjoy from young to old.
Thank you Joe for helping me having the wedding of my dreams. It was perfect. I wouldn’t change a thing. :)

Joe was awesome! Way more than simply a DJ. He pays attention to the details. Shortly after he arrived and set up, he noticed that the kegs were not tapped yet and that the taps were not the correct ones. He personally called and spoke to the manager of the retailer of the kegs, and asked them to deliver the correct taps. They were delivered and installed during the wedding ceremony and I was completely oblivious to all of it until after the reception. Someone noticed what he had done and informed me. Additionally, he did a wonderful job as the MC. Joe is a class act! I would totally use him again.

I don’t make a lot of reviews on Unilocal but wanted to leave a great review for Joe Deborba. We just had our wedding on 5÷2÷15 at the Strawberry Lodge near Tahoe and Joe did an amazing job. He was very polite, respectful, friendly and professional. Joe was very interested in how we wanted to do our wedding. He was also so much more than a DJ. He was a great host and worked very well with our family and friends. He took our music requests, played them and also added his own artistic touch to add to the rest of the night. I would also highly recommend using his up lighting as they added so much to our banquet and dance room. If your looking for an easy going DJ who is interested in doing the event how you want to do it then I highly recommend Deborba Events!!!

Joe Deborba with Deborba events is awesome! Incredibly professional. Deborba events made my wedding run very smoothly. Joe worked with the venue and all the other vendors to make sure that the time line we created was followed and adjusted as needed and at my request. They have a great website that’s easy to use to help you plan your event and hear the music you want. He is VERY responsive to any and all correspondence. Can’t say enough good things!

Joe DJed our sons wedding and we could have not been happier! Our friends and family said it was one of the best wedding receptions ever! His music selection and his response to requests was fantastic! Our guests danced from the first song to the last! Joe created such a great vibe and our guests had a blast! Deborba Events was one of the many many many DJs I contacted for my wedding which was this last September 2014. I was actually really stressing about not finding the perfect Dj. Music of corse is a big thing, but also we were really looking for someone that had the «It factor» for us. Someone that had a personality and could guide the guest throughout the evening and not be corny, obnoxious or trying to steel the spotlight. Along with these requirements we were looking for someone that could play a large variety of music from county, hip hop, oldies all the way to Portuguese music. Well after calling probably 15 different company’s all around the bay area and officially starting to really stress, I got a hold of Joe. Owner of Deborba Events. Before calling I checked out his website. I loved it! You can tell A LOT about a business on how they present their web page and seeing the details they have put into it. This coming from someone that runs their own successful business and pays attention to the little things. Deborba Events website had a very elegant look to it. My style! Well once talking to Joe we were able to set a date to meet. He met us mid way being that we weren’t from his area and we were able to meet at a Starbucks. When we met, he presented himself with a well groomed appearance and guess what a personality that we actually clicked with!!! Some weight had finally been lifted off my shoulder! As we began to talk, the whole wedding planning felt completely real and sunk in that we were actually getting married. Joe had an amazing packet filled with questions from music to timeline layouts and along side was explanations of what was what and what was traditional vs not. Things I would have never even thought about. And trust me I had my wedding binder/​books. So not only was he going to be there to DJ, he had the knowledge and was willing to help coordinate the timeline of our special day with all our vendors.
So leading up to the day, Joe had got us set up with an online account on his site which was where we could log in and out of as we pleased to jot down songs that came to mind. This was also a place we could put info as far as timeline and names of other vendors so he could be in contact If needed. It was a great way to help us all stay on the same page without playing telephone tag with our busy schedules.
The day of the wedding Joe made it a point to come in where I was getting ready to see if anyone needed anything or help with anything. I thought that was pretty sweet of him. He also was able to round up our Photographer, videographer, officiant, venue owner, photo booth company and confirm everyone was on the same page and aware of the timeline. Which by the way he had emailed the previous day to each one of our vendors on his own time. Lets just say our wedding was perfect. If it wasn’t for Joe helping as much as he did it wouldn’t have laid out so perfectly. The crowed loved him and he guided the guests without steeling the show or being obnoxious. O and I can’t forget how it started to rain while everyone was out on the dance floor (outdoor venue). So instead of shutting down, he whipped out a pop up tent to cover his equipment and kept the party going without missing a beat. Meanwhile everyone else just danced in the rain. So fun!. I am so glad We found him. Thank you So so so much Deborba events. I promise you as a busy hairdresser in silicone valley, I will always mention Deborba Events to the brides in my chair that are beginning the wedding planning. The price is right and the service was beyond amazing!!! Thank you again for sharing our amazing day with us Joe.

Joe with DeBorba Events was the first wedding vendor we talked to and he gave us so many tips during the planning of our wedding. We had Joe DJ our wedding reception and WOW! We had so many complements on the music throughout the entire reception. Not only did he nail the music, but he also did all of the lighting for our reception, and it totally set the mood! We weren’t sure exactly how it would turn out, but when we saw the room for the first time, we were blown away! There were amber leaves on the ceiling and warm uplighting all around the room. He really made it feel like a warm fall evening!
*Note: They also brought in a fog machine and covered the entire dance floor for our Frozen themed first dance. Really fun touch!

A month before my wedding, my previous dj went cold turkey. Didn’t respond to my text, voice mails, & calls. I was freaken out because he was a family friend’s suggestion & I had no one to run to make my wedding day that much more memorable.
Luckily, my friend Van D. saw Joe from an event a few months prior to my wedding & I saw the review she wrote from him. Since Van goes to many events, I took her advice and contacted Joe right away because I was in desperate need too. To my surprise he was available on my wedding date (thank goodness it was on a Sunday!) & he offered me a deal too! He took me in with open arms & met up with me within two days after we spoke to give me documents that helped me plan my special day. He has the perfect website to help organize everything from first dance to garter toss, even a library of songs to choose from. I loved, loved, loved how he was so on top of planning our songs and having the site to organize our vision because without it, I don’t think I would’ve done it. It was nice to have an extra person to be on our planning since we didn’t have a wedding planner.
Well, with me & my bridal party being active party people, I asked Joe to make a mix for us to do a last minute choreographed dance at our reception. He was able to send me 3 – 4 versions to best fit our expectations. Without a doubt the mix & choreographed dance was a hit. Made our wedding reception so much fun & got our party started! He was there for the entire 6 hours as my party was over until the allotted time for the venue.
About a week before my wedding, Joe met up with my husband & I to make final touches to our special day. He was a true trooper because I asked him to Emcee some complicated names to introduce.
My reception went well from beginning to end. With Joe communicating with my venue and him being flexible, things went so smoothly. I’m so glad I was able to work with Joe. I would definitely recommend him to anyone, but book fast because he wasn’t able to dj for my brother’s wedding :(

Holy wow, what an incredible DJ. Joe was amazing from the first time that I spoke with him on the phone. He made my husband and I so comfortable from the very beginning. We had two meetings and a couple phone calls before our big day, and I knew that I had absolutely nothing at all to worry about. Joe was a ton of fun, our guests and wedding party loved him, and most important of all, he was so organized, attentive and experienced. We had so many people compliment his work. I would recommend DeBorba Events to all of my family and friends. Such a great company to host your event =)

Currently serving as a photo booth vendor for a sweet 16 party at the university plaza hotel, and after all the events we do, I must say that this music and entertainment stands out. The most important thing is finding the right mix of songs for the audience, properly guiding the party’s program, and keeping the crowd entertained. Joe did a great job on all of this, and for once, I was able to clearly hear all of the speeches! The up lighting, dance lights, and speaker system were all on point. Kudos, Joe! Just wanted to give a thumbs up to Mr. Deborba for helping make my birthday celebration one to remember. In such short notice when I thought… no way was this event going to turn out, Joe came through. His creativity and ability to get everyone up and moving coupled with his outstanding light show was second to none. Took a ok venue and make it look like we were in Vegas. Played the music we all wanted and was interactive with everyone. Thank you Joe and you will always be my top choice for future events! Keep up the great work! If you or anyone is looking to put on an event this is where it stops. Joe is more than just a Dj, he’s like an event coordinator that djs better than everyone. Lol

I’m at an age where I find myself going to a lot of friends weddings. One thing always stands out, the entertainment at the reception. Typically you get some guy who calls himself a DJ with his name airbrushed on his hat who talks over the music and tells jokes that just aren’t funny OR you get some Adam Sandler wannabe doing his version of The Wedding Singer.
I recently attended the wedding of some friends and expected the same lackluster entertainment I’ve grown accustomed too but was pleasantly surprised. They hired DeBorba events and their DJ was really professional. He played a great selection of music and kept the party going without being obnoxious about it. I was really impressed by Mr. DeBorba and would hire him myself if I were ready to walk down the plank.
