The Inn at Stockbridge

FANTASTIC inn. Wonderful amenities and friendly innkeepers. Main Inn, Barn and Cottage rooms. The Rockwell Suite in the Barn was an exceptional room! Extremely clean, balcony, thermostat controlled gas fireplace, whirlpool tub. INCREDIBLE breakfast!!! Wine and cheese in the late afternoon!

My husband and I have been married for almost 11 years. We have 14 month old twins and were lucky enough to have a weekend getaway when the grandparents offered to watch the boys for 3 nights!!! What to do?!
We opted to visit family and friends in NYC on Saturday and Sunday, but Sunday night through Tuesday, we had no idea what to do! When you go from having no time to yourselves to 2 whole nights alone, the possibilities seem endless! Needless to say, there’s a lot of pressure to pick the PERFECT thing to do because after those two nights are over, it’s back into full-​time twin parenting which is a LOT of work!
We live in eastern MA, very close to Boston and had never stayed, or even visited the Berkshires. We went into planning by googling things to do in the Berkshires. Well, there’s not a whole lot to do in the Winter (we’re not skiers). There are however, museums and the Norman Rockwell Museum stood out (such a lovely little museum!). We choose the area to stay based on wanting to be close to that museum. We looked at about 5 places to stay in the area, but there was something about the Inn at Stockbridge that really stood out to us and we booked!

coupons which the innkeepers took without a problem. They are tech savvy and know how to use and apply online vouchers, like the B&
coupons. There’s also free wifi all over the Inn. It’s composed of 3 sections, the Main Inn, the Barn and the Cottage. We stayed in the Rockwell Suite in the Barn. It was LOVELY. The room was decked out in Norman Rockwell prints. The bed was super comfortable, there’s a little mini-​fridge/​cooler and TV. The best was a thermostat controlled gas fireplace and the whirlpool tub (that comfortably fits two adults). It has a little balcony for warmer weather with a table and two chairs. My husband also surprised me with chocolate covered strawberries that Jeff had placed in the room. They were delicious! Such a nice little extra.
Jeff & Lisa are the best part about the Inn. They are knowledgeable about the area and didn’t give us one bad recommendation for a meal or something to do. The breakfasts that Lisa makes FROM SCRATCH are unbelievable. They are included in your stay, but are easily a $ 20-​$ 30 breakfast at any other restaurant. She checked in with us the first night to ask about breakfast she was thinking about making the next morning! She was thinking pancakes and we thought that sounded great. Well they weren’t just pancakes… they were pumpkin pancakes with a cream cheese sauce and homefry potatoes. She also makes her own granola we had both mornings. In addition, there are a nice selection of teas and coffee. They have coffee brewed specifically for them each week from a wonderful coffee shop in town.
In the early evening they have wine and cheese which is enjoyed by the fireplace in the main inn with lovely jazz playing in the background. Such a nice relaxing break in the day.
The Main Inn is being worked on to bring it up to par with the Barn and Cottage suites, but there’s no doubt in my mind that when Jeff and Lisa are done, it will be perfect.
We will definitely be back in warmer months when there’s more to do and of course colder months when we want to just relax in our room. Great place!

This stay was amazing! By far our best B&B experience in the Berkshires — and we’ve patronized perhaps half a dozen in the area over the years.
1. Every room in the inn is thoughtfully and efficiently designed
2. The Shakespeare room in the barn had a large bathtub, great toiletries, gas fireplace, fridge, large comfy bed, high quality sheets, VERY quiet (no rooms above or below)
3. Inn keepers Jeff & Lisa were kind, polite, and informative. They welcome casual conversation, especially a daily cheese and wine gathering, or will leave you in peace if you prefer. The cheeses were from local providers and top notch (cheddar, chevre, and brie yesterday)
4. Several town centers within a 10 minute drive (e.g., Stockbridge, Lenox)
5. Site is near the highway but you can’t hear it in any room; so this is not a detractor
6. Every room is immaculate (clean)
7. Breakfast — this is beyond a B&B «included» affair: there are servers, plates cooked to order, and pastries made daily delivered to each table. A la carte, a stand-​alone restaurant could charge $ 20 per person easily
8. Strong wifi throughout property

My brother visiting from England and I met here midway between Syracuse and Maine. Tired after the drive we decided to lunch here before the drive to NY. Excellent. Best Crab cakes ever. Homemade remoulade was also some of the best I’ve had. Friendly service and an excellent wine list. Not cheap but who gives a crap with quality like this !

We stayed at the Inn at Stockbridge for the weekend which was a wonderful birthday gift for me. Jeff and Lisa, the Owners were wonderful and room was warm and inviting. We had a fantastic king room with a jacuzzi and cozy fireplace in the cottage behind the main house — we loved the privacy and ambience. The Inn itself was fantastic with elegant yet comfortable furnishings. If we were not going to the Shakespeare Festival in Lenox for the weekend, we could definitely see ourselves relaxing by their hearth. Lisa is a fabulous cook and her breakfasts were to die for with homemade scones, fresh squeezed orange juice, apple and yogurt parfaits, mouth watering pancakes with a cream cheese frosting and omelettes with fresh asparagus and mushroom and of course local bacon and sausage. Although the season we visited was late November we can only imagine how spectacular the grounds would be in the spring and summer lounging around the heated outdoor pool. The location was great to visit all the quaint towns in the area and check out the local craftsmanship. We were pampered and so will you be, when you go there too!

Nice place. Easy to find. Friendly staff. Delicious breakfast. Close to Mass Pike, so you can hear the cars… keep this in mind if you are looking for tranquility.

The Inn was ok but did not match the picture shown on their brochure. The petite rooms are just that, enough room for the bed and two feet of walking space on either side, with outdated décor and painted wires along the baseboards. My husband and I were led up to our room by the owner who did not say two words to us, no welcome, no discussion of amenities, very unwelcoming. The only saving grace was the delicious breakfast and the rest of the staff. With many other Inns to chose from, this Inn, currently under construction on the outside, would not be one we’d chose again.
