Specialties
An intimate bistro-style restaurant. We specialize in un-pretentious, hand-crafted cuisine — served in a friendly, casual, yet professional atmosphere. We offer a relaxed, informal ambiance, and we take our business seriously. We’re going strong: 13 years and running!
History
Established in 1999.
We are the second set of owners of Once Upon A Table, and we’ve always strived to maintain the combination of high standards of execution of both food and service that made the original restaurant such a success!
Meet the Business Owner
Alan O.
Business Owner
I am a native of suburban Boston who started my restaurant «career» in Portsmouth, N H while attending UNH. I then migrated west to California and immensely enjoyed 17 years of the San Fransico area. I primarily tended bar. My last job was at a venerated watering hole in San Francisco’s Cow Hollow neighborhood –The Brazen Head, under the tutelage of Ralph Maher, a well-known saloon-keeper, and Eddie Savino — one of the legendary bartenders to ever grace the plank! My long time friend and running mate — Billy «Fritz» Frisbie and I then took the plunge and bought a run-down neighborhood café and turned it into The Connecticut Yankee — still running strong under Fritz to this day (23 years and counting). I was fortunate enough to meet the woman who became my wife — Teresa Penna — of Pittsfield Mass, and voila! — it was back to the Berkshires for us! Now we’re raising two boys and running «The Table» in the bucolic backwater of Stockbridge, Mass and livin the good life! So there!
