Great supermarket, has been updated but still. eh. Big, spread out — nice departments but with the improvements, prices went up. The fish department is one of my favorites, they really offer some great options on the weekend. The deli that offers some fresh NY bread is also a plus. Not particularly fond of the layout of the store — too much sprawl — there are clothes put randomly here and there and i don’t see a place for that in a supermarket but, of course — that is my opinion. They have upped their game on some higher end items. They carry the Chameleon Cold Brew coffee that is $ 10 for what i think is 16 ounces, pricey but worth it. Nice array of organic dairy too. Always something on sale here, just not always what i need. The parking is a mess! i can never get in and not have to fight for a decent spot — good for them, not for me!

Mixed Review Here — Normally I do the shopping myself, and I am always aggravated by how many items are still not clearly priced — MONTHS after the renovation has been complete. Sale and basic items are often out of stock, which drives me nuts. Its a large store — which has a good selection, but it’s also a pain because if you forget something — you are like half a mile away from running back and grabbing it. Getting used to the layout, but the pricing issue is really aggravating since I try to shop budget consciously. This also wastes a lot more time, since it takes longer to try and find which items to buy. I do like the deli and fresh foods. Food usually seems to be good, seafood department is great, and I love that they added more brands of deli meat. The bakery could use improvement, not the best selection — just the basics, and they always seem to be out of loose rolls. As far as staff goes– you really get mixed experiences here. I have had experiences where employees were patient and went out of their way to help me, and experiences where employees we directly rude to me — so it just depends. Parking lot is still the same even after the renovation, but there are also doors on each side of the building, so you may want to consider using those also to get a better spot. –Overall in store rating would be 2 Stars because I have never left that store without being aggravated and having to make a special trip elsewhere to fill in what’s out of stock on my list. Updated — ONLINE Shopping: This week I tried the Shoprite from Home — and ordered my groceries online. AND I LOVEIT! It was great because you can easily search for products, and all the prices and unit prices are right there clearly shown. Staff I dealt with were super friendly and helpful, and my order was accurate– no mistakes. I was able to find promo code online for a discount off my first order so check online for that if ordering for the first time. The only issue I had was that I didn’t realize there was a 4 hour lead time, and so I missed the time slot I wanted and had to call to move it — which they did for me with no problem. So always reserve a time slot first, before shopping for items. They were also out of tissues I wanted — I know crazy rare items those Kleenex, that are on sale, but shopper was able to find me a similar replacement item. For the small fee, I hope to never have to do big shopping orders myself again. Definitely try it! –Rating for Shop from home experience would be a 4.5 — The staff was great, service was excellent, but the store was still out of some basics.

Very happy with the changes! I used to have to go to three markets to get what I needed. Smoothie station is my first stop. Chef Arturo is a good guy and fun to chat with about food. I would complain about parking… this is jersey there is never parking anywhere.

I was hopeful when they revamped this store, but all they really did was polish a turd. Same old disgruntled employees… lack of /incorrectly priced items on shelves. Slow to restock, especially sale items. The produce is the worst. The new deli does it’s best to not display prices and prices went up considerably as they now primarily offer Boar’s Head. The new design is like walking through a giant library. Dark, tall imposing cases. Not welcoming or inviting at all. The parking lot still resembles a minefield. Why couldn’t they have offered up cart corrals? People just leave them all over, making parking a PITA. And what’s up with the juice bar? Really? Do they think they’ll actually sell a lot of wheatgrass smoothies? This is my last ditch store.

If you haven’t been to this ShopRite in a while, you will be shocked at the new store. It has the theme of a corner market and has just about anything you may be looking for. There is a hot bar, sushi counter, sandwich counter, fresh juice bar, etc. I am always able to get in and out quickly. There are even new entrances on the sides of the building to help with the parking and check-out process. The employees are friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s the best grocery in my general area. I actually drive out of my way to come to this ShopRite.

I used to love this Shoprite and then they did the renovation. Now I hate it. The prices are much higher and the layout is terrible. I can’t find what I am looking for. The shelving makes it look like a warehouse and the lighting makes everything look unappetizing. I bought one onion today and it cost $ 1.40– doesn’t that seem like a lot for ONE onion? An item I wanted to purchase scanned at a higher price than the sign above it. The cashier called for help and I waited 10 minutes, literally, and then gave up and left without the item. Now I drive all the way to Wegmans in Bridewater for a delightful shopping experience. The ambience is great– everything looks fresh and appealing, there are people giving out samples and although it is big, it is easy to navigate. Shoprite, what did you do?

Updating yet again. Now that we’ve moved nearby and I’ve had a chance to REALLY shop here, I am totally sold. I wish I could play Supermarket Sweep at this place, run up and down the aisles just grabbing rotisserie chickens and boxes of Fruit Loops to an awesome soundtrack… Speaking of which, they had an awesome soundtrack on tonight. Florence and the Machine! And it was blasting from the outside speakers too, so as I was loading my groceries into my car, I was totally rocking out in the empty parking lot. This place did a total 180, and personally, I’m thrilled I live so close!

I have been very happy with the changes at Shoprite. The fruits and vegetables are always awesome. They are getting the rest of the place together rather quickly. But the main reason I wrote this was for my cashier Eitan, who made my check out experience very easy. Good customer experience is hard to find. Shoprite, you have a gem. Don’t lose him.

They are in the middle of renovations –everything is slow — it used to be quick –if you had under 12 items — not anymore they hardly have enough cashiers even though they have tons of new staff there aren’t enough quick cashiers to keep that line going smoothly — lady in front of me easier 5 minutes for them to bring $ singles for her change — guy shows up walking over slow as molasses– they need to train staff better to be quick to service«quick» lines. The lady behind me said it would be better if they had self-service checkout.

Used to be a good place to go food shopping, though not anymore. The redo is nice but after the first weekend prices just went up for the single serve portion selections which was a nice touch. Also, typical Village Supermarket redo/open where food from other stores is brought in that is clearly expired. We bought mustard that was expired by a month. Yuck. We had a similar experience at the Union store where the Shop Rite prepared meals were a number of days old. Not a good business practice for keeping customers when other options are out there.

We have all been waiting for the new expanded shoprite in our town. My first visit to the remodeled part which is produce, deli, bakery was confusing. I went back yesterday to buy fish. Prices are now higher, Today I went again for fresh coleslaw. It was horrible. Something wrong with it… bitter isn’t even the right word for it. I always used to by Thumans coleslaw, but they don’t carry it now, so I bought the store made coleslaw. I tossed it in the garbage can. The rolls in the bakery department were stale .I’m hoping things will improve.

I call this place Satan’s supermarket. Parking lot jammed up all the time, constant accidents happening in the small maze you have to drive in, lots of blue hairs, and aisles so narrow you will burst a blood vessel trying to grin and bear it because you know you swore off coming here fifty times already. Many times I’ve found shelved items past the expiration date, and some of the deli workers just look miserable. Blech, close up, clean up, or expand already and be done with it.

Overall I like shopping at Shop Rite because of the good prices. The store in Stirling have friendly employees but the products they carry are terrible. I often find expired food on the shelf and the produce bruised or wilted. I do like how their organic section is all in one area but often there is not much to choose from. I’m not sure why they don’t keep everything well stocked especially for people who work. If you want first dibs on anything new, you need to be there by 8am on Sunday. I will keep going to Shop Rite but maybe not here as much. I do hope they expand that store, since it’s now empty next door, maintain a good inventory and modernize the building. It would be nice too if the bathroom wasn’t so scary.

I have to admit I should have at least 40 check-ins or more. This is where I buy my groceries. I couldn’t find this place on my Unilocal until today. First let me start off by telling you what I do like. I like that this Shop-rite has a large variety of Gultenfree foods, and healthy grains & unusual rices and they devote an entire section to it. It’s always changing and developing with new and interesting products coming into the store every week. For a small store they carry a large variety of fresh baked breads including New Jersey’s own Calandras. They have a nice cheese section olive and roasted pepper bar. You just help yourself and its priced per pound. Next to the deli counter I watched a Japanese girl at her own little station making fresh sushi. I watched her using a mandolin(that is a tool that slices, dices, or juliannes, veggies.)to slice fresh cucumber for the sushi. It smelled great! Shoprite carries all types of veggies like broccoli rabe, kale, broccolini, white asparagus. The veggies are fresh and seasonal. The staff is alway friendly and helpful in finding and item. You can’t beat Shop-rite’s prices! Every week they have a flier with weekly specials which have great prices to good to pass up! The best way to describe this place is everything is packed in tight. What I find to be annoying is this store is the main grocery store for 3 – 4 towns so it gets very busy, sometimes it’s too busy! You might come in for a couple things and you’ll have to wait in line for 20 minutes or so. This store is not state of the art like Stop n Shop 10 minutes away in Berkeley Hts. There is no self check out. This store tends to get a much older crowd. The layout of this store is unique. There is no flow and isles get jammed. The craziest thing is their computer system tends to go on the fritz a lot. I noticed 4 different rows of people were all trying to use a credit card and for 10 minutes not one of the cards would be approved. It holds up the lines. This store goes through a large amount of inventory. I constantly have to get rain checks or ask if there are any more of an item especially in the dairy dept. I will definitely continue to shop here until something bigger or better comes along.

I’ve been coming to this Shop Rite for 15 years. I grew up grocery shopping with my parents at this store. Relatives of mine have had jobs here too, so as a kid I got to know the workers. Shop Rite is like family to me. «Always fresh, always for less. Shop Rite,» is their motto, and it totally works. The food is always fresh and there are always great deals, on top of a great selection. A fun tidbit about this Shop Rite is that it has won the award for«Greatest music selection playing while shopping ever.» Just kidding, there is no award for this, but there is always amazing music playing over the radio. I love Shop Rite!

going here is a painful experience, to say the least. parking over by the post office end of the building is the safest move, indeed. if not, parking head in is a definate no-no. while the haitian cashiers are pretty nice, this place resembles some supermarket in new york city. every movement is a nightmarish, painful ordeal. for some reason, it also seems to be overly-communal. customers and staff members always seem to be engaged in deep conversations with each other, as if the most important thing about this place is not about buying what you need at inexpensive prices and getting the heck out of there asap! the fruit seems pretty good, though, and if you want to save money, this is what you’re going to have to go through. make sure you have a good, stiff drink or a couple of klonopins afterwards to recover, though!

the place is a real dump. Unclean and just plain ugly. Supermarkets first priority is to keep a clean shop. This place is always dirty. The slope of the parking lot is a danger to your car with carts always left to be there to whack your door. Prices are about the lowest around and part of that may be because the«Use By» dates are very often close at hand-so it is old stuff you are buying. Add to this that Long Hill Tswp has the most aggressive speed trap [except to Peapack/Gladstone] and you take you put your car insurance cost at risk if you are even 2 miles over the limit.

I have actually never reviewed a supermarket, but here we go. I am only reviewing this particular Shop Rite, as this is our«primary» grocery store. My wife and I like Shop Rite, because I feel like they have the best prices of any supermarket around and the others around us aren’t much better. The parking lot is not big enough — plain and simple. It can become incredibly hectic. Upon entering, it isn’t a huge supermarket but it gets the job done. I actually feel like the deli is this supermarket’s strength. There are usually plenty of people working and they also have started something new by slicing meats and cheeses and putting them out front. This way, you don’t have to wait in line if you don’t want to. I also think they have a decent produce selection. The rest of the supermarket can become quite the challenge. The biggest problem here is that the place isn’t big enough and the aisles aren’t wide enough so there can be some major traffic jams in the aisles. They usually have a decent selection, but like I said earlier, navigating the rest of the supermarket can be very hectic. Quite possibly my favorite part about this Shop Rite is that they always have plenty of checkout lines open — something other supermarkets fail miserably at. Overall, this place is OK, at best. Doing groceries is a chore that my wife and I absolutely dread but it has to get done. This supermarket is far from the best, but it is serviceable and has the best prices in the area.

I was expecting something better in terms of cleanliness and prices. I was disappointed. Place is hectic, not clean and their prices aren’t all that great. It’s just surprising in the area it’s located they can’t get it rite(get it… ha). I am one and done with this place. Go to NP to the new A&P or even Stop&Shop for a cleaner, friendlier environment. Oh and their produce, bakery and deli lack freshness…

Dirty is the best and most obvious adjective to describe this place. Please with all of the supermarkets within a 5 minute drive of here, including kinds, AP, stop and shop, pathmark… just go elsewhere. This place is just gross, we went in here to get milk and other items and got nothing as i was completely disgusted by the appearance of the place.
