Put simply, our specialty is service. Unlike other repair shops that employ professional sales people as «service writers,» our front desk is staffed completely by ASE Certified Master Automobile Technicians. When you ask about a problem or concern you have with your car, you’re speaking to a qualified technician, not a salesperson. You will receive relevant, honest advice, and you wont be pressured into purchasing services you don’t need. We provide a practical, to-​the-​point approach to automotive repair. History

Established in 1988.

Lonnie grew up working in his father’s shop, Unique Automotive in Muskogee. After working his way through OSU’s History Program as a mechanic at local auto repair shops, Lonnie took a job with the local Lincoln/​Mercury dealership. He spent several years as the Shop Foreman there before taking a position with the local Honda dealership. In 1988 Lonnie realized his dream of opening his own auto repair shop. Stillwater Automotive began as a 3 bay shop with 1 employee. Word of Lonnie’s straight-​forward, no-​nonsense attitude toward car repair quickly spread throughout Stillwater and the surrounding area. It wasn’t long before he had to expand the building to keep up with customer demand. Robbie, Lonnie’s oldest son, started work at SA as a child, picking up greasy rags off the floor for a nickel each. He spent summers working at the shop through Jr. High and High School, and came back to Stillwater Automotive full time in January 2011.

Lonnie started his career in auto repair while working at his father’s shop, Unique Automotive in Muskogee. By 16, Lonnie was a skilled and fully qualified mechanic. He moved to Stillwater to pursue a History degree at Oklahoma State University. Going to school during the day, and spending his evenings turning wrenches at local repair shops, Lonnie earned his Bachelor’s degree and graduated in 1981. Still unsure of what he wanted to do with his life, Lonnie took a job at the local Lincoln/​Mercury dealership. He worked his way up to shop foreman, and spent several years in the position before taking a job with the local Honda dealership. In 1988 Lonnie built Stillwater Automotive in the empty lot next to his home. Over the next 24 years, Lonnie watched his little business grow from a one man show with a jack and toolbox, to a fully equipped repair facility complete with top-​notch technicians and the latest technology.
