Ron Shirley Buick GMC

After purchasing my truck here… I picked it up in winter in an Internet sales. after I returned home my trucks ac didn’t work after I used it for the first time. my salesman said sorry that’s ur problem u didn’t but the warrenty. after a carfax that they have me was clean I had bondo pop off my fender so now I have a wrecked truck that when I talked to Ron shirley gmc thay said. well we would have liked another 500 dollars out of the sale… worthless people. and I bet they go to church telling everyone how great they are… imo

Great people and service! These folks have always been great people. I purchased a Pontiac Vibe here and they worked with me to get the best deal. They also have a great service department that’s always helped me when I needed help with my vehicle.

I took my 2014 GMC 2500 truck to the shop to have it serviced, headlight changed, and the dome light fixed. I told the gentleman at the desk «Scott» to do anything and everything to the truck needed. I expressed that if It needed done do it, giving him full reign to anything the truck might need to get fixed! They come out and say the air filter needs changed and the wipers. I said get it done. 2 ½ hours later my truck is complete. (supposedly!) We are going over the bill, I asked the young lady questions to make sure everything got done. To my surprise there was no headlight bulb billed out! I said is everything okay, she looks «the sheet has a green checkmark saying everything is good!» I said «all the lights inside work?» She replied with «Yes, green check mark.» I said «hold on, let me go look.» Of course the headlight was out and the dome light is out. I returned and said «If those two things were checked off as good…» She said «we will get you in right away and get it taken care of!» 15 minutes later they pull the truck back around complete. Charge me another hundred dollars for the services that had supposedly already been done and checked complete!!! I understand the fact that mistakes happen and they were in a hurry. How can anybody’s word be credible if you say you did it and did not get done on two things that I can see, what about the other 20 things he checked off that I cannot see?

I am needing a tire mounted and balanced, so naturally, I call all the car places in town to see where I can get the best price. Who wants to overpay, right?
I called Firestone here in town and they tell me they will do it for $ 12 per tire to be mounted and balanced.
I was told the price here at Ron Shirley Buick GMC was $ 15/​tire.
I have been to Ron Shirley several times in the past and would have liked to continue to do business with them, as I felt comfortable and confident that I was being taken care of here.
I call the dealership and ask for the Service Department. I’m soon speaking with Dennis, who seems a nice-​enough guy; I can understand him clearly and he even helped me locate a tire they didn’t have in stock at a different dealership.
After having located the tire, I told him I have enjoyed my experience on the sales floor at Ron Shirley and would like them to be my primary car care provider, but not if it meant I had to overpay for service. I politely expressed my thoughts which are summarized below:
–I’ve liked my previous experiences with Bryon on the sales floor
–I feel comfortable with the Ron Shirley name
–I want the Ron Shirley Service Department to balance and mount these new tires I need
–Firestone charges $ 12/​tire
–Ron Shirley charges $ 15/​tire for the same job
It makes sense that businesses would want to be competitive in order to earn lifelong customers, especially in a field like automotive. A car is the second most expensive thing a person will ever buy (second to a house, usually). The absolute last thing you (as a buyer) want to feel when you’re purchasing a car or having one repaired is ripped off.
I asked Dennis if he would honor the Firestone price of $ 12/​tire. In doing so, he would have earned a family of die-​hard Buick buyers that would ask for him specifically when coming to get their cars repaired. Instead, when I asked if he’d do it for $ 12/​tire, I received a stronger message than he could imagine. Without hesitation, he replied, «No! I told you our price is $ 15 a tire!» in a stern and condescending tone. Feeling my confidence in Ron Shirley slipping away, I said, «Okay. Thank you for the information, Dennis.» And as Ron Shirley Buick GMC’s last words to this customer, Dennis replied, «Bye.» and immediately hung up.

Honestly the best dealership around. I was a little skeptical of the place because of the older appearance but the service is great. My car needed many things done to it and they helped me so much by showing me actual proof of what needed done. I didn’t feel like I was getting ripped off at all. And the best part was it wasn’t too expensive AND they sent me the sweetest thank you note for my business afterwards in the mail. I recommend it 100%. Even if you don’t own a GMC.
