Sunny’s Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation

yesterday i was walking around and saw a sunny’s huge white bus waiting to pick up people. the driver sat there PICKING his NOSE for about 20 minutes then playing with what ever he picked. it was GROSS. feel bad for the people he was picking up.

A 3 hour limo ride cost over $ 1,300.
The driver was very nice and arrived before his scheduled time. He was very accommodating and after overhearing a dilemma that we had, he told me that he didn’t mind if we had to wait for the person who was running late. The only issue I had with the driver is he didn’t know how to get to my destination and neither did I. I told him to use his cell phone for navigation and he had no problem with doing that.
Basically I contacted Sunny’s to request a quote on services to chauffer my daughter and a few friends in a limo to and from a local theme park. I was quoted a total of $ 500 plus tolls, taxes, and any damages to the limo.
After going back and forth for 3 weeks, I finally received a contract (no prices included) for my limo ride. I would later find out that this would bite me in the butt.
Three days after my trip, I received an email with two invoices in the amount of $ 640 each. I was appalled. The charges included two (5) hour trips $ 900, $ 180 gratuity, $ 130 STC Fee, and $ 64 in gas. My contract did not include any of these fees and charges and when I spoke to the representatives at Sunny’s prior to my trip, they did not specify any of these charges.
I am in the process negotiating this invoice so hopefully we’ll come to a more reasonable resolution and if so, I’ll update my post.

We used Sunny’s as our getaway car for our wedding this past weekend, and we had a great experience. Our pick up was for 10:30 pm, and our driver was right on time, and you get a confirmation email with all of the car info when the driver is on the way. Our driver was so patient with us because we wanted to do our send off, take pictures getting in the car, and then come back to pick up some of our things at the reception venue. He was super nice about it and told us to take our time, and made very friendly conversation on our way to the hotel. We used their town car and the car was very clean and you get complimentary water bottles and newspaper. We highly recommend Sunny’s!

I had since contacted my travel company about this and subsequently Sunny’s sent to me, via the travel agency, an apology letter re my incident. Hopefully this was an isolated incident for Sunny’s as like I mentioned, the first leg of my journey went great. I was not expecting anything to come of this so the fact that Sunny’s reached out to me is worth noting and certainly worthy of a review update.

So, I have used Sunny’s twice to try and get people from my house to DC Union Station to catch a train, and both attempts have resulted in missed trains. Neither time has the driver arrived at my address on time, let alone 15 minutes early.
Attempt 1:
Reserve the sedan about 4 days in advance to pick me up and take me to the train station. At the time of the scheduled pick-​up, there is no sedan in front of my house. Long story short, I call the dispatcher to find out the driver was at a similar address in a different city about 2 hours away (despite the fact that my reservation lists the city). I have a new address (about 2 years old) which does not show up in an old GPS, but then if the drivers looked at maps or knew their way around the city, this wouldn’t be such an issue. I had to hop in my car and drive to the station to catch the next train.
Attempt 2:
Reserve the sedan about 3 days in advance to pick up my girlfriend and take her to the train station. I book the sedan so it *should* arrive about 20 minutes earlier than it would need to in order to catch the train. Given that Sunny’s claims that its sedans arrive 15 minutes ahead of time, this would theoretically give 35 minutes of cushion. This time I even called dispatch to ensure they had directions to my place, so that we could avoid a repeat of my last attempt.
30 minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time I receive a call that the driver may arrive 10 to 15 minutes late due to traffic (imagine that, traffic in DC!). I was concerned… Turns out that was optimistic, and the driver showed up 30 minutes late (45 minutes from when they are «supposed» to show up). Girlfriend misses the train, and has to buy a new ticket for a longer duration trip.
So, Sunny’s fundamentally fails in what should be its mission: get you where you need to be in a timely manner. Sure the sedan is nice, and the Diet Coke and the paper are nice touches… but, I hire a car to get me somewhere I need to go.

I am writing to comment on the professionalism and dedication of the owner of this company. I previously posted a less-​than-​satisfactory review of this company and the CEO called me directly to correct the issue I had experienced. In this day and age, that is certainly a rarity! I am very impressed and very pleased with this level of customer service. I will definitely give Sunny’s another try.

I thought $ 135.30 (inclusive of all fees) was a bargain for two hours of car service in a late model Lincoln Town Car on a Friday night. The driver arrived a few minutes before the scheduled pick up time from the hotel in a clean car and I received the e-​mail that other reviewers have mentioned to confirm the driver’s arrival. In addition to being very patient and polite, he was a very safe driver. I’ve already recommended Sunny’s to a friend who occasionally needs a car service in DC.

I use them on a regular basis to book for my VIP boss — she won’t take anyone else.
On the whole, they’re a very good option. I appreciate that they have a hybrid car for us eco-​minded individuals. They are very timely with their pick ups, and I love the alerts that I receive with their system — example: «Vehicle onsite.» Their customer service on the phone has always been very polite, though at times there has been a language barrier.
However, I had to dock stars for the mess that is their website and online booking. It has for the past 1 ½ years of my using it been an absolute pain in the neck. Accounts were deleted online, even with my VIP customer boss. They lost all of our past invoices once, so I couldn’t request any bills for Amex reconciliation. I am constantly having issues trying to log in to book a reservation. It has never run smoothly, and it always seems to be constantly changing. So that has been a headache for me. Though my boss, who is on the receiving end of their car service, is a happy person.
So, good product in the end; bad organization leading up to it.

OK, it was hard finding where to review this place, but this is as good of a place to put a review of Sunny’s.
I had a devil of a time deciding which limo company to use — they seem all the same, but then I found Sunny’s. A really friendly guy on the phone took my reservation, and the reservation was immediately e-​mailed to me, confirming my trip.
I always worry and am concerned about service-​oriented businesses delivering on their promises, and Sunny’s web site states that if the limo driver is even one minute late, your trip is free. Well, I thought, we’ll put that to the test. The sedan was scheduled to arrive at 6:15, and I received an e-​mail confirmation that the driver was at my location at 5:15. I loved it — not intrusive like a phone call, but just an e-​mail so I could check it if I wanted to. The e-​mail also had the car number and the driver cell phone number as well.
The car was great — a paper in the backseat along with a diet coke, water, and mints. After the car ride, I was almost immediately e-​mailed an e-​mail receipt. In an industry where companies seem almost exactly the same, I can’t believe I’ve hit the jackpot. I can’t recommend this place enough, and they’ll have a loyal customer for as long as I’m in the area.

I don’t understand! Where are the paparazzi?! Every time I get into one of Sunny’s sedans, I imagine being whisked off to someplace where I’ll need shades at night and there’s a red carpet waiting for me when I open the door. Alas (or maybe fortunately), this is never the case — all I see when I open my door is the entrance to the airport main terminal, not Lindsay Lohan or Matt Damon (le sigh).
But damn if the ride between my place and the airport isn’t kick-​ass! Sunny’s is always on time. They’re always waiting outside my place, at least five minutes earlier than when I reserve them. The driver is always well-​dressed in a suit, professional, and polite. I typically have a daily newspaper waiting for me in the seat-​back pocket in front of me, then there’s bottled water, a can of pop, and a stash of plastic-​wrapped mints in the armrest console.
Given, you’ll end up paying a premium for their superior service (my trip between Reston and National runs just under $ 100, whereas a standard cab fare would be about $ 60) but it’s totally reasonable if you have an expense account and you’re flying out on a shuttle at 0600 hours on a Monday morning (ugh)!
