The food is good but seriously wonder about cleanliness. Lady working on cash register with long blue nails took my order, went directly to deli, no hand washing, no gloves, just grabbed bread, veggies, etc., i couldn’t take the sub, i am in food service and if someone does that as if it’s ok, yuk! Very poor hygiene! I told the young man that was gross, and he just looked blank, didnt care, no apology, no offer to remake it, didnt care.

Unfortunately, the food has only gotten worse in my view. We have gotten take out four times since Christmas, and it has been the same every time. We order pretty much the same thing so we can tell. The Deli should seriously take note of this. This is a great to bad situation, saved only by the convenience of getting some quick Chinese food.

Great place for sandwiches and wraps! Wine selection is also exceptional for a «quickie-mart» setup. All the locals come here for a lunch on the go. Calling ahead and ordering really speeds up the process. Candace, the owner, is very nice as is the rest of the staff.

My family dropped in on this place for a quick bite(deli sandwiches) after visiting Davis Farm in Sterling MA. I never would have noticed it on my own(from the outside, it just looks like a little convenience store). I asked one of the farm staff where to go for good sandwiches and she recommended visiting he deli. From outside, I was unimpressed– like I said, it looks like the kind of place you would drop into for a bag of chips and soda, but it was quite nice inside with a European-deli type feel including wine and some gourmet foods. As an added bonus, they were selling Red Sox themed wines! I ordered a turkey sandwich(made to order) and my wife got a basil and cheese wrap and both were fresh and excellent. Both made with quality ingredients. each sandwich was around $ 6.00 As far as I can tell, Sterling Deli has no website. There is no seating, so expect to take your sandwiches to go. Other items they stock: Pickles, Boars Head deli items, sodas, candy, lottery. I’m happy we went and wouldn’t hesitate to return when I’m in the area again.
