Palmercare Chiropractic

When I first started going to Palmercare, I couldn’t even sit up on my own. My back was so bad that I had never ending back pain that all but debilitated me from doing the basic things that most people can do — Such as sitting up or sleeping comfortably.
Though at first sessions seemed to not be working for me, I stuck it out for a full three months, and as time went by I stared to see and feel results. What started out with visits of me needing help to sit up on the «table» shifted to me sitting up on my own — Slowly at first of course. As more time progressed, I found myself going days without back issues, and then towards the end of my sessions not having pain at all.
Since my last visit (which was admittedly over a year ago), I have had days where slight back pain returns, but it is far from as debilitating as it used to be, and it subsides with a session of the stretching exercises that Palmercare taught me.
With that said, I would be lying if there were days during my treatments with Palmercare that I didn’t feel like they were being a little too rough with me. Especially considering my level of pain. I particularly felt this way when under the care of Dr. Vivian Kim Malnikof. I always dreaded when I found out she was working on me for the day. I felt like I was being beat up under her care, and not treated. Sometimes I even left more sore than when I came in.
I guess in the long run though the results speak for themselves. I honestly never thought I would see a day where I didn’t have chronic back pain. So to that regard, Palmercare definitely worked for me.

Dr. Mees and his team are very caring and comforting. The technology their office uses is incredible and helps to explain the issues to us lay people. They offer a free initial exam and can put together a full treatment plan for you too so you know what to expect. Top notch service.

I had a disappointing experience at Palmercare Chiropractic. I was referred by someone whom I trust, but this practice was not a good fit for me. It was a bit like going to a gym to inquire about a membership and being sold on a bunch of unwanted products and services. I do not feel comfortable when I’m being «sold» as if I don’t know what I want when I walk in the door.
In my opinion, seeking any kind of care is voluntary, but this practice has a policy regarding dropping patients who are unable to maintain the visit schedule «prescribed,» as well as a mandatory new patient orientation, which is for educational purposes, but nonetheless unnecessary for some. The policy is that you MUST (in all caps) attend one of the next two orientation sessions offered immediately after you sign on as a patient, or pay $ 150 for a private orientation, which seems like a lot for what was described to me as a casual get together that would take 20 – 30 minutes… Certainly not worth getting a Dr’s note for work or school in order to attend.
A big part of this practice’s philosophy is educating their patients, however, being someone who has had regular chiropractic care, with above average body awareness and years spent researching health and wellness (including chiropractic care principals, practices, methods, etc.), my intelligence and knowledge were not only unrecognized but completely dismissed as if I was expected to just sit and listen to them talk without being able to speak. In fact, I was interrupted more times than I could count.
Overall, despite the adjustments being good, I did not feel heard or respected, and for that reason I will be seeking care elsewhere.

I have never been to a chiropractor let a lone doctors office that is as friendly and caring as Palmercare. When I come in I’m greeted with a smile and by name. This is not just by one receptionist but all of the staff. The doctors really listen to you and genuinely care. I have never waited more than 5 minutes for Dr Eric to see me. The office is always decorative and fun. I look forward to my visits at this office. Overall great experience!!!

Best chiropractic experience ever. I love that they want you to tell them if you have a doc that you prefer over others. Very thorough initial examinations. I have been there for over a year and love it.

I’m going to be completely honest here, this place is the reason I created a Unilocal account. Never before have I had an experience so bad that I felt the need to review a business. This place is an absolute scam.
I did not actually have any adjustments done; to be completely honest I wouldn’t let this guy adjust the height of my grass. I went in for a «consultation» where he basically just stammered through a few questions that easily could have been on a form instead. He wanted to do adjustments right then, but was unwilling /​unable to see what my insurance would cover. I was required to make a donation to their favorite charity for this «consultation» appointment. If I would have had to actually pay them for the appointment I would have been furious.
What put me off the most was when I asked about possible precautions with chiropractic care, he simply laughed and said there’s absolutely no risk. Even though I know the risk is minimal, he really gave me the feeling in all of his responses that he didn’t actually care about the business.
Before I left they scheduled a return appointment with me to «discuss the findings» of the first appointment. I canceled this appointment due to my lack of confidence in the competency of the doctor.
To me, it seems like the chiropractor and CFO were at a fraternity party one night and said «hey, let’s uh… start a chiropractor business.»
tl;dr unprofessional /​unknowledgable, so I stopped the process before any adjustments

I am from out of town and go to a chiropractor on a monthly basis at home. I was in desperate need for a chiro since I’ve been gone now 5 weeks. I found Palmercare on Unilocal.I am from Davenport IA the HOME of Palmer College of Chiropractic. I was very happy to find a practice that uses techniques from Palmer: techniques I am familiar with.
I went to Palmercare today, Monday, without an appointment. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely pleasant and assured me that I could get an adjustment without filling out new patient paperwork etc.
Dr. Eric Doyle was also extremely pleasant and thorough. He did some preliminary tests to get a baseline. He explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. He adjusted me from my neck to my ankles. I am thankful to have located Palmercare and feel much better today because of Dr Eric.
My charge for the visit was $ 60.

I went to see Dr. Vivian on referral and from the moment I entered their office, I felt right at home! The receptionist staff are so upbeat and friendly, they play great music, and it’s very kid-​friendly (I brought my newborn, and they gladly watched her at the front while I got x-rays…there are also tons of toys in the waiting room for older kids). My initial exam was very thorough and she explained everything as she went. Turns out I have serious neck and back issues, and have for the past 10 – 15 years. I certainly wish I would have seen a chiropractor sooner and not just dealt with the lower back pain I’ve had forever. I look forward to each appointment I have (and honestly, wish I could get adjusted every single day!).
The orientation is very insightful — I’m glad they put it on for new patients, definitely an extra perk they don’t have to do. I’m so thankful I found this practice and have already recommended it to many of my friends.

Dr. Corey and Vivian Malnikof run the most amazing chiropractic office I know. They make you feel taken care of, offer multiple solutions to whatever may be bothering you and truly care about your wellness as a whole. They’ve created the ultimate family atmosphere with a well-​trained staff who is always cheerful and ready to help and they stay on schedule throughout the day so you’re able to get in and out quickly. Above all, they like to have FUN! They’re always decorating their offices for the holidays, creating contests and playing music to keep people upbeat and full of positive energy.
But the most important reason I highly recommend this practice is because of the commitment they have to your overall well being. They are not just there to crack your back. They offer holistic solutions that range from massage, to acupuncture to sound healing, herbs, meditation… you name it. You can have as little or as much exposure as you’d like to these modalities, but its really nice having all your needs taken care of under one roof.
