One of my favorite places for kabob. Actually that’s a lie, it is my favorite. Get the half salad half rice option with your choice of protein, you get the best of both worlds. If you want kabob, go to Moby Dicks

Portion size and flavor are great! Cost is a little high though(that is why I deducted 1 star)! I still go once a week!

I used to love the food. But I give them serve chance this will be my last time going there. I ask for three order and I repeat myself. We only got two order. Then I order one more. While my sons were sharing he found long hair inside of his food.

A fast, fresh, and delicious lunch place. We ordered the Baghaala Polo one with chicken and one with lamb. The lamb was slightly under seasoned but the chicken was perfect. The basmati rice with fava beans and dill weed was tasty and filling. Great for a fast lunch and for a change of pace!

Had the lamb combo, and surprisingly it didn’t meet expectations. The rice was ok, but very little flavor. I’ll pass on this place next time. Kind of disappointed. I thought it would have been better. Employees were pleasant.

Very poor service. We got there at 9:10 when the store hours on the front say they close at 9:30. All of the chairs were already put up. At the register there was a girl and three workers in the kitchen. She was closing the cash register and counting the cash when we walked up. The first words out of her mouth were«we don’t have rice or spicy chicken». We said that’s ok and proceeded to order. She then asked to pay with a card as she could not accept cash. After we ordered she asked if we were taking it to go. We said no that we were going to eat there. Once the food was ready(which was before9:30), she packed all of the food as a to-go order, despite after telling her we would eat there. Right after 9:30 she shouted loudly for everyone to clock out. We have been customers of Moby Dick for years and because of her poor customer service, we will definitely never go back to this location.

I had my doubts but this place was decent. Ordered the chicken/pita lunch sandwich and it was pretty good. The chicken was moist and I liked the seasoning. Not a bad lunch option. I recommend calling ahead and picking up your order.

I am literally sitting in the booth as I write this review as I didn’t think this could wait. My friend and I both ordered sandwiches which on the menu states come with yogurt sauce. To our dismay, when we received our ordered, we didn’t get any yogurt sauce. Instead, the cashier handed use green hot sauce. After setting out food down on our table, I went back to the counter and asked for yogurt sauce. The cashier told me that he would have to charge me for it. I then pointed out that the menu states all sandwiches come with yogurt sauce and e proceeds to tell me that because he gave us the green hot sauce, he cannot give is the yogurt sauce. After we were nearly done eating we notice an older gentleman sit down with his sandwich that actually came with the offer sauce. Apparently, at this location, only specific demographics get yogurt sauce. Seems like such a small thing but try eating Mediterranean food with no cold yogurt sauce!

Very tasty first visit to Moby Dick’s. Ordered the chicken kabob plate with half rice, half salad, flat bread, and green sauce. Delicious! I’ll be back.

Try Moby Dick Kabob if you want an authentic Persian kababi experience the same way you would try an NYC hot dog stand hot dog if you wanted to taste authenthic Bavarian cuisine. Greasy, overpriced, inauthentic chuck. The McDonald’s of Persian cuisine.

I was a little bit disappointed by this place since it lacked the cleanliness of the other locations of this restaurant chain. Otherwise good kebab and good service.

Amazingly surprise on how good this was. Since visiting, I have tried to find similar food in Georgia, but nothing comes close yet.

YOUPROBABLYWANTTOKNOWWHYAM I WRITINGINCAPS!!! BECAUSEYOUSHOULDBEREADINGMYREVIEW, WHY? BECAUSE I’M A 100% PERSIANMANWHOKNOWSHISKABOBS!!! THISPLACEDESERVES5STARSBASEDONQUALITYOFFOODANDPRICE. I WOULDKNOW, I’M PERSIANAND I’VEBEENEATINGPERSIANKABOBSMYENTIRELIFE! ALLYOUPEOPLEWHOGIVETHISPLACELESSTHAN4STARS, YOUDON’T KNOWWHATYOU’RETALKINGABOUT! I’m done yelling. You can’t go to a Chinese restaurant and want Pad Thai or expect Thai tasting food and you can’t go to a Thai restaurant and expect General Tschos and get mad when they don’t or don’t have Chinese tasting food. Moby Dick does great tasting PERSIAN kabobs, if you don’t like it, don’t knock it, just don’t come back again. Now are they better than my mama’s? NO! Are they good enough for me to try to go there as much as I can? YES! To the knoobs, PLEASE don’t put hot sauce on your rice or kabobs, it just makes a Persian man cringe. It’s like you watching someone put ketchup in their cereal, wtf?! You’re not supposed to do that! Moby Dick is always consistent in their food. I also like some of their specials. I like their Tuesday special with kabob koobideh, but frankly, you can substitute it with any kabob if you don’t eat lamb shank. Bottom line, they’re doing their job right, if you don’t like it, it’s not because it’s bad, it’s because you don’t know. If you like spicy kabobs and chick peas, go to a Pakistani joint, you want curry tasting foods, go to an Indian joint. Do I have other favorite Persian kabob places who know what they’re doing, absolutely. Look at my other reviews. Moby Dick is making their kabobs the right way, their kabobs are not supposed to be any other way, take it from a Kabob/Rice Expert and ignore the other reviews as they don’t know what they’re talking about, I do. Also, if you can, please try to eat in, kabobs are truly meant to be ate right off the fire/skewers, plus they’ll make your car smell, I warned ya. Moby, I love you and thank you for being you and making me happy every time I visit!

The staff was very friendly, the service was good, the kabobs were cooked perfectly, and it was just an excellent experience. I would even say this location edges the Ashburn Village location.

Very good food and friendly service. I lived in Germany for a few years so I have high expectations for my kabobs. The food is fresh and very good. Portions are huge and enough to share or save for another meal. Price is right, I paid less than 14 bucks for my kabob, hummus appetizer, and drink. I pay about that much for a smaller kabob and drink at the mall. The bread for the hummus was very good and plentiful. I am not a big hummus person, but really liked there’s. The only thing I would change is I like my meat in smaller pieces and distributed more instead of big chunks. No big deal they have knifes! I highly recommend and will be back often.

I’ve been here several times. Same unwelcoming popped collar guy behind the counter gawking at women. These Kabob places take a long time to make your food. So the last time I finally remembered to order ahead! It’ll be ready in 20 minutes? Great! I get there 30 minutes later to pick up my food only to be told that they wont make it until I get there. Wait, what??? What is the point of ordering ahead if you wont make it ahead of time? I can get three chunks of chicken and rice somewhere else.

I’ve only been to this place twice now and both times I ordered the chicken kabobs over rice. The saffron rice is really good and the bread, mmm. The first time the chicken was a bit towards the dry side but the second time it was nice and moist. I’m not sure if I would come to this place for lunch since it takes a little time for them to prepare your food, but still a good kabob option for dinner.

I can’t bring myself to give Moby Dick 4 stars, but it’s a solid 3, good Persian style kabobs and other dishes, and we go there pretty routinely when that mood hits. I first tried Moby Dick at least 10 years ago, and promptly dismissed it as vastly inferior to other kabob places I frequented. I gave it a second try, and that was it for a decade. I have since been enlightened to the differences between Afghan/Pakistani and Persian cooking styles, and now see Moby Dick’s place in the culinary food chain. Afghan/Pakistani kabobs tend to be moist, flavorful, and spicy, with doughy and moist fluffy naan bread more like Indian naan, served steaming hot. At Moby Dick, the Persian style seems to be drier, less flavorful, less spicy, and the bread is thin and dry. They even go out of their way to perforate the bread, enhancing crispness and dryness, and hang it up allowing it to become cold. But, the sauces are still flavorful and inspiring, and the tastes turn out to be subtle and comforting, once you adjust your expectations. So, we go here all the time. Love it for what it is. I just wish they made better bread, hard to say anything good about that. So, go to Moby Dick for Persian kabobs. Don’t compare to Afghan/Pakistani kabobs, it’s just different. (Hint: check out Rawal Kabob in Chantilly, or Charcoal Kabob in Herndon, and many others for spicy, flavorful kabobs, chickpeas, and rice…)
