I received a $ 19.88 coupon from Sterling Plaza Safeway for an NTB (Merchants) oil change, tire rotation, and windshield wiper top-​off. I made an appointment with Greg who was very friendly. When I arrived, I was helped quickly by Kevin. He checked me in and told me it would take about 45 minutes. My vehicle was done in 45 minutes, perfect! Kevin told me to watch my right front wheel bearing, it had a little bit of play. The mechanic told me that he had filled my slightly underinflated tires. No pressure tactics, no drama, or BS from this place. I will return even without a coupon. Very pleased with the service and professionalism.

We continue to get work done here from oil changes to other repairs. Last time, we did new tires, and replace a leaky brake master cylinder (though it could have been recommended during the prior visit when we replaced the front brakes if it had been test driven, we think). They did do great job on this visit and ended up doing more work on the brakes at no extra charge, and according to manager, it was necessary for them to warranty the work. The brakes never felt better on our mini-​van, with the new tires also. They also fixed a problem with our sliding door at no extra cost (it must have been small issue like a fuse or something, but was major treat for us to have the door back) The total bill was good deal we thought and we’re very happy with end result. This place was so bad. I had to bring my car in several times to fix the same issue. I spent all day there on the 1^st day. Finally after them continually not fixing my breaking issue I decided to go elsewhere. I found out not only was my diagnosis of the issue wrong but they overcharged me severely. I never went back. The staff was very nice and polite but the work was crap and I felt ripped off when it was all said and done.

I feel like I can trust this place. I have been there a few times and I have always gotten great service and NO shady up-​selling!

Had my tires rotated earlier in the day at another shop. On the ride home noticed something was off. I check my lugs when I got home and the drivers side front tire had 3 out of 5 lugs loose! I brought it up to merchants and explained my situation to the guy at the front. He took my car right away… so they checked everything out and said that actually the lugs were loose on ALL FOUR WHEELS!!! Seriously??? They tightened the lugs for free and sent me on my way!!! Thank you so much guys! Now I’m waiting to hear back from from the other dealership…

Been to Merchants before to get oil changes but came in this time for my ignition switch issue. I’m giving 4 stars versus 5 only because I has to wait several hours before they finally came to tell me I needed a locksmith and that they wouldn’t have the right part for another 4 days but anyhow they were nice about it and helped me best they could. I try to make an appointment or at least have another form of transportation to take you home which I didn’t have at the time. This may not be the most useful review as they didn’t exactly fix anything but they were helpful and their techs were nice.

I imagine this will fluctuate up and down as I go back for my next oil change or any major work. But I do feel I should raise my original review (read it if you’re interested in my oil change experience) one star because my most recent experience was quite good.
I was getting ready to go out of town on a trip, and OF COURSE my car starts making a vibrating noise that morning. So I figured I should get it checked out before I got on the road. I was told it would be an hour before they could take my car back for a look, but they got it back there in only 20 minutes. About 40 minutes later, I was on my way. They had found a loose heat shield on my exhaust and tightened it down to eliminate the noise — and they did it at no charge.
The staff could still be friendlier and more personable, and the place is absolutely filthy inside (even in the waiting room), but I had a good experience and got my problem fixed for free just for being a previous oil-​change customer (I guess, they didn’t really explain why there was no charge, just kind of grunted and sent me on my way). Thankful it wasn’t something worse and that they were able to identify the issue so quickly so I could get on the road!

Merchants told me they would order a new tire for me and call me when it came in. They never called and when I stopped by I found out they had not ordered the tire. Over all I found the customer service to be lacking.

Don’t bother with this one… Go to the Ashburn location off of Junction Plaza and get the best customer service. It’s worth the drive.

The guys & ladies here are great. Everyone is friendly and respectful. They made me feel at ease about spending $ 2,000 on vehicle repairs. Normally I feel as if i’m sucked into repairing things that I don’t need. But the manager here explained what I needed and exactly why I needed it.
I will be continuing my oil changes and repairs at this Merchants in Sterling!
