I came in with what I thought was a broken pin in my tire. They quickly checked the tire out for me, and found nothing wrong. They changed it back and put my spare back in its place, no charge. Super nice, fast, and pleasant. Will definitely be back!

I took my car in to Curry’s Auto because my car was making a squealing noise. I have been to curry’s many times and they always do it right the first time and are very dependable! I highly recommend them!

Best automotive customer service I’ve experienced since beginning to drive more that 25 years ago. They explained everything and although the price ended up being much higher than I would have ever imagined, they prevented a more serious problem from presenting itself. I know mechanics and generally only bring my car in for things beyond my capability, so I don’t feel I was ripped off or lied to at all. They got me in last minute and took care of me.
Richard and James were both great! I’ll be back if I need anything in the future.

Curry’s is my go to auto service shop. The techs get it right the first time and they stand behind their work.

It seems many reviewers who visited Curry’s Auto Service in Sterling, VA like their service. But I have a different opinion. I have visited this auto service for basic oil change and state safety inspection since I have received a coupon from the auto service ($ 5 off for state inspection and $ 20 for oil change service). After the inspection, the manager told me that two light bulbs were out and two wiper blades were failed. They asked $ 80 for changing two light bulbs and $ 50 for two wiper blades. I asked them to change two light bulbs and told them that I would change the wiper blades. So total charge was $ 123.27 for VA inspection, regular oil change, and two light bulb change with $ 5 state inspection coupon and the $ 20 oil change coupon. They added «shop supply fee» for $ 12.71 and explained the fee was mandatory. I went to this auto service last year (July 2014) and I had to change two light bulbs as well for the state inspection. After I got the car with a failed inspection sticker I found that both wiper blades were a good condition. The manager showed me a torn wiper blade (less than 0.2 inches) on only one side and explained that if one side is failed I have to change both blades. I didn’t want to argue and just went to a local auto shop and replaced the wiper blades. Then, return the auto service and finally got the passed inspection sticker. I mostly go to local dealer shops for service but I think I made a big mistake to visit this place.

These guys saved me from buying a new turbo on my car. I already replaced it once a couple years prior, and had two different mechanics before this tell me that I needed a new turbo, again.
I took my car into the Sterling Curry’s since I heard they had the best European/​Diesel mechanic of all the Curry’s shops. The mechanic took a look and then did a little bit of research, and it turns out that the turbo was manufactured with a design flaw and that leaking a little bit of oil is natural for my type of car (’06 Jetta TDI).
I’ve taken my car in several times before and after and the staff has always done a good job.

Customers beware!!! This is now Mr. Tire and not Curry’s anymore. Curry sold to Mr. Tire a year ago. I just was gouged for $ 750 dollars to replace two power steering hoses and a flush. Compared it against two other shops and they both quoted $ 200 less. They warned against the huge mark ups Mr. Tire is known for. I was charged a $ 130 diagnostic charge which i was told would go toward the work if performed there. At the end of the day, i was charged 4.5 hours worth of labor which included the 1 hr diagnostic charge (other dealer took 10 minutes to find the two hoses that had leaks and checked my car for free). This was for my wife’s car and I brought my BMW there a few times because of the stores prior reputation for working on high perf cars.
They just lost a customer and will make sure all of my friends know the real deal about Mr. Tire

Wanted to run the diagnostics for something that I already knew, so I had to spend $ 65 before anything could be trouble shooted, would not go back, stay away

We have taken both our cars to this location for several years, both as Curry’s and ad Mr. Tire. The team here is always polite, explains what needs to be done, calls when they say they will call, etc. Richard is outstanding — he always gets our cars in, even when we show up almost at closing. I wish I knew the names of all the team there because we have only had positive experiences with them all. Highly recommend.

Shhh… I kinda don’t want to tell you that I am a fan… if you find a good mechanic… you don’t want everyone to know or it will be harder to get in… but I will share with you if you promise to keep it secret. Promise? Okay… good…
Curry’s was great price wise compared to visiting the dealer, However, on fixing one thing on my husband’s car the dealer did come in better. We told Curry’s that and they matched the price.
The customer service has been great.
So both of our cars are paid for… and both have decided to act up a ton right after they were both paid off totally. We have had AC repaired, water pump replaced, transmission issues (still under warranty for transmission thankfully), spark plug issues and new tires needed in the past couple of months. On Unilocal it is kinda fun to be the «duchess» of a particular store… but not when it comes to having car repairs. Although I am a fan I really hope I don’t have to go back anytime soon.

For something as simple as a state inspection on my stage 2 Subaru STI, I was extremely impressed by the outstanding customer service at this location.
Richard, their general manager, was very inviting and even took time to talk with us after the work was done.
He stands behind his work and I could tell. Awesome showmanship.
I have to mention Andy too. He was nice enough to run out to my car before I left because I had dropped my CC.
Customer service represents everything and I cannot praise this shop enough.

Since my first visit about 4 years ago, I haven’t been to any other repair shop in the area. I have never been pressured into extra work, and they’ve always been happy to install my parts or tires that I bought elsewhere. Whenever I’ve needed work outside of what I brought the car in for, they’ve always printed up a list for me to review when I leave.
Issues I had elsewhere in the area:
Merchants — installed my staggered tires on the wrong wheels
VA Tire — couldn’t open my hood (there’s a $ 2 tool that unlatches it)
Goodyear — spent 2 days trying to solve an electrical problem that the next shop fixed in 5 minutes
Their labor rate isn’t cheap, but they’re the only shop nearby that I trust.

I’m very choosey about the people I let work on my vehicles. And with good reason. I trust my vehicle to be reliable and safe, especially when I’m hauling kids around in the back seat.
I’m a big believer in you get what you pay for and Curry’s is a great example of that. I’ve been using the guys out at the Falls Church location for years but when I recently moved out to Great Falls I was pleasantly surprised to see they have another location near my new home.
I recently brought in my Toyota 4Runner to get a lift kit and some new wheels and tires installed. They gave me a good estimate of what the work would cost and I dropped it off with them for a couple of days while I was traveling for work.
They called me several times to give me updates and kept me informed of everything that was going on. When the job took longer than expected and there was an issue with wheel fitment, they took my calls late into the evening to make sure everything got straightened out. They even offered me use of their loaner car to help out until I got my car back.
When I did it back their work was impeccable, they explained everything they did and even brought me out to the garage to show off all the work.
The trust the guys at Curry’s because not only are they honest and dependable, but they’re also «car guys». They are passionate about what they do and they take a great deal of pride in their work. That’s why they’re the only guys around I trust to work on my vehicle.

I unfortunately bought two gift cards for this place thinking they’ll be good. Gave me difficulty with using the first one and said they will mail me the balance on their new branded card, which never arrived. The second one remains to be used. Went in for a pressure test of the cooling system. The tech who worked on my car left signs of being rough on my car all over the place. Broke radiator cover during removal/​reinstall process. Complained, got a new one. If you are an owner involved with maintaining your own car, I strongly suggest you take a good look at the work area to check if covers/​clips etc. were broken (and worse, unreported) during the repair.

Put simply this place lies, cheats, steals, and cons you in every way they can. BEWARE!!! Especially females! They know every trick in the book.
Today my wife took her car there for them to inspect a window that wasn’t properly working. This windowed was «repaired» by them already and was even still «under warranty». However, after examining the window they charged $ 60 for JUST THE INSPECTION and then had the audacity to claim that it was a different issue. The fact that they charged this inspection was just a ploy to try to get us to pay an additional $ 300-​$ 400 to fix the same window again.
Clearly they did not fix the window properly the first time, as it didn’t work properly except for a few times immediately after the initial fix. By this rate we would go broke fixing the window over and over and would pay approximately $ 100 per window operation.
They claim that it was now the switch and not the regulator that they previously «fixed». Keep in mind it only worked a few times after they «fixed» it! Clearly the switch was an issue then as well as now! This is the worst type of garage because they don’t only do incomplete jobs, but they also do damage to you vehicle. Then on top of that they will put on their best used car lot salesman vibe and come at you for an absurd amount of money for labor.
PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! There are some decent garages around the area and there is NO possible reason to take a vehicle here. Do not even trust them with an oil change. They have proven to have no integrity.
I’m absolutely disgusted with they way they treated my wife.

They’re the perfect Auto Service shop in theory. Motorsports enthusiast, knowledgeable in aftermarket installs, very professional, the perfect alternative to the dealer.
Unfortunately their labor rate is unjustifiably expensive. While their hours called in estimates match the high side of the market. I.E. Goodyear. But Goodyear’s labor rate is cheaper. The other complaint is that they’re not walk in friendly for oil changes nor inspections. Even if the place is dead empty, theres usually an excuse for a 1 – 2 hour wait.

Very pleased with experience getting a brake job on my first time here. Scratching noise turned out to be metal-​on-​metal, they replaced pads and rotors but nothing else was damaged. Great communications, nice people, nice waiting area, fast service while we waited. Would definitely go back!

I have to admit after Mike Dorsey moved to another Curry’s to manage I was nervous. But the team here at Curry’s Dulles seem to have taken the reins and moved on without skipping a beat. I brought my wife’s Jeep here after a very unfortunate engine issue that ultimately lead to it’s demise.
The professionals here at Curry’s gave me my options, explained them very clearly and didn’t rush me to make a decision.
I tell everyone I know, «Take your car to Curry’s, you’ll get an honest accurate diagnosis.» It’s refreshing when compared to other garages I’ve tried in the past.

Update: I was recently contacted by Curry’s regarding my review.
After playing phone tag for awhile, Sean (the Customer Service and Social Media Manager… I think) and I discussed the issue we recently had. He apologized, reasserted Curry’s commitment to having us as a customer and offered a considerable credit on our next service. I accepted and informed him I would update my review accordingly after the service had been completed.
I am going to leave at 3 stars for now, pending the outcome. If everything goes smoothly, I will gladly upgrade them to something higher.
