Boxcart Moving & Storage

Boxcart has the distinct honor of being the worst moving company I have ever used – and I move a lot! Leon pitched us a very small-​company story and stressed that they use only employees and not contractors. When the trucks showed up on moving day, we were shocked to see «Interstate Movers» all over the paperwork, trucks and uniforms. That was the first time we had even heard the name and I thought there was some sort of mistake. When our stuff finally arrived at the destination (7 days later), we were shocked at what we saw. Our belongings had been carelessly tossed in the back of the truck and many of the boxes were badly damaged. We had several furniture items completely destroyed. There was a club chair with a leg completely broken off, a bookshelf with a hole punched through the back, a lamp with a shattered shade, lost brackets to all of the furniture they disassembled (making it all useless), a bike with a bent frame… I could go on and on. We then found out that all of the movers except the foreman were contractors that didn’t even work for Boxcart or Interstate. Then, after damaging our stuff, they pressured me hard for a tip! (even though it’s against Interstate policy for them to accept a tip). The worst of it was that no one at Boxcart really seemed to care about any of it. Avoid this company!

Leon gives you the impression that this is a small company with their own employees and that you will receive very special treatment and be in contact with Leon throughout the move. That is the main reason I went with Boxcart after interviewing 4 other companies. This is not the case. In fact, it’s not Boxcart that moved us, it was Interstate (I believe bought Boxcart) and Leon doesn’t not contact you at all, or even reply to a text the day of moving. Once he has your $ he’s done with you. The 5 guys on the team were good, but they didn’t even know much about Boxcart. They had never seen their forms before and most of the guys on the crew didn’t know each other at all. There was some bickering among the crew. I complained about the yard being torn up on my form and the overall experience and they don’t care. Do not use or believe Leon’s spiel.
