Steak ‘n Shake

This place is a fucking joke lol. Me and my buddies decided to get some food late at night from this joint. Oh man did it suck. We ordered the food online so it would be ready once we got there. We go in and the staff looks lazy as fuck! We tell them we ordered food online and the kid didnt even know you can do that lmao. Than they realized they didnt make even half our food because they checked one order we placed but not others… I had chilly cheese fries and they told me they ran out of chilli lmao. They suggested they just make cheese fries which I didnt care and agreed cause I was already annoyed. After I left I remembered that I payed for the order with my credit card online before hand so they gave me a cheeper item as a substitute and didnt even offer to give me something for all the inconvenience. (I dont care about a dollar or two refund but they should of gave us something more than a bad attitude for making them make our food lol.) All in all food was good but the service and the staff is one of the worst ones Ive seen in a while. Lazy, rude, unprofessional, and slow just few words to describe them.

Every time we come here we remember why we said we won’t be back-​slow service and unpleasant servers. We will take our business elsewhere. The server we had had her underwear sticking out along with a wonderful view of her stretch marks along the side of her stomach. A couple that had came in after us recieved thier food before us… Basically, it sucked.

Whenever we decide to come here, it’s a very quick recollection of why it’s 4 – 6 months between visits. I just wish that I’d remember why we don’t come here before we get in the parking lot — this place is a total and complete sh! t show. The service, although fairly nice, is slow as molasses. If they remember everything correctly, it’s a miracle. I’m not sure if that’s the server or the kitchen, which always sounds like it’s on the verge of chaos. We were about to walk out when the waitress finally showed up — after 10 or 15 minutes. No apology for the wait. We saw this play out multiple times on this visit.
The food was OK. The fries were cold, like they’d been sitting, waiting for the burgers. It took a long time to get refills and we went up to the window twice for stuff. It was not worth the wait.
This place needs serious help. Now if I could just remember to not go back…

Can’t understand simple orders and won’t honor their own coupons. Joke of a store. Lost my family’s business.

Horrible service! I drove through the drive thru at around 10pm last night and no one said a word. I pulled up to the window and was ignored for 5 minutes. A young man finally paid attention to me and apologized for not having his headset on. He did not know how to use a computer, charged me for 2 meals when all I wanted was two burgers and one small fry. My order came to $ 14 which was absurd considering I didn’t not receive 2 sets of fries and 2 soft drinks.
Burgers were good, not enough seasoning on those bland fries, and horrible horrible horrible service!

Awful service waited about 5 minutes in the drive thru for someone to say anything. I had to be the first one to say the first word. My boyfriend and I said the order more then once then we got to the window and they had no idea what we ordered. Apparently the guy didn’t know how to work the computer. The food was bland the fries suck and there was hardly any snickers in my shake! Awful choice do not go to this location!

Just awful. My husband and I came here for a quick bite before a movie, and we stood by the front door (next to the «please wait to be seated» sign) for a solid 15 minutes before walking out… No one ever even acknowledged us. There were quite a few people dining there, but there were also an equal amount of open tables. There were employees standing around the back work station talking, and others just standing around looking bored so needless to say, I find it rather frustrating that no one could have bothered to say hi to us.

Ordered through the drive thru. Took what seemed an inordinate amount of time for a simple burger order. You would think after 10pm during a slow period food would be prepared faster. Nope.

I went here with my friends at night. The place was hardly busy, there were people who showed up after us who were served before us. Two of my friends didnt recieve placemats or silverware. My food was ok however my friend became immediately ill after eating here.
The staff hardly gave a fuck about providing good service, it was also seen that the grill was being cleaned with the spatula that was cooking our food rather than actually cleaning it with the proper tools like its supposed to.
The bathroom. I cannot begin to find the words to describe how disgusting it was. First off there was piss on the floor and on top of the urinal. Secondly paper towl was literally falling out of the garbage because no one could take the time to go through it out. The worst part is I’m not talking about just a little paper towel like it was a small mound of used paper towels there just sitting there which I’m sure is some sort of health code violation just like not cleaning the grill properly.
After we got out bill my one friend wanted a milkshake to go it took us 20 minutes to recieved the milkshake which I assume was just forgotten about until another table must have ordered one and sparked our waitresses memory. Never eat here I’m sure not anymore

Really was looking forward to eating at Steak and Shake for the first time! the moment I walked in the door the first thing I saw was a filthy dirty restaurant where 90% of the tables were dirty and not bust! when my grandson and I were SAT the waitress tried to sit us at unclean table that needed to be wiped and I said no! I will sit over at this one, obviously out of somebody’s section, the waitress took forever to bring us our menus and water! my grandson needed to use the restroom and the restrooms were absolutely filthy! disgusting to the level that they were worse than a common gas station bathroom! I’ve seen gas station bathrooms much cleaner than this which really terrified me because I would never have guests into my home without cleaning my bathroom first! my grandson ordered the chicken strip dinner and I was very skeptical at that point wanting to leave! I ordered the double burger with the French fries a side of baked beans and the chocolate shake, the food was cold but my grandson seem to enjoy his chicken strips! I would not recommend going to this restaurant unless you had all of your shots!

Ordered 2 milkshakes and they both tasted like chemicals. So disgusting, and the kitchen looks absolutely filthy from the drive-​thru

I have been her countless times, Me and my fiancé tend to work later and we get out of work and a lot of places are going to be closing in an hour. But steak n shake stays open 24 hours and we love it. We go there with coupons all the time, they don’t mind how many you use in one transaction. They are so nice there because even if you finish your meal they will clear your table and you can hang out there for a while longer, we stayed and bible studied there for at least an hour after we left.
ps. if the place would have been busy we would not have done that, since it was late about 75% of the place is empty at the time.

We have waited over 50 minutes for our food, took the waitress 15 mins to get our water and order not many people were in the restaurant either. Not coming here again ever

Service sucks. Slow and they don’t check back to see if you want more drinks or anything. I took my daughter one day and it took 20+ mins for milk shake bc they were busy and had 1 person making them for the whole restaurant

I wasn’t going to write a review of this establishment, but after reading a couple of similar reviews; I felt compelled to expose this sad excuse for a restaurant. The first time was to try their shakes so I went the «take-​out route» and to my surprise, it took these incompetent employees 40 minutes to finally get my order. The only redeeming aspect of this visit was that my son loved their shakes.
I vowed never to visit this dump again, but my son liked their shakes. Since he loves milkshakes, and after a movie a MJR-​Partridge Creek we decided; against my better judgement to give this Steak-​N-​Shake another chance.
Even though the restaurant was barely 50% full, it took 30 minutes to finally get seated and after we finally were seated, it took 30 minutes to order two burgers and two shakes. So, after a little more than an hour, we finally got our simple order placed. How simple can that really be?
Finally after another 30 minutes, I asked to talk to the Manager, who took another 10 minutes to get to my table because he was having a conversation with a cute waitperson. After hearing my complaints, he assured me that my order was the «next up» and then returned to talk to his female employee.
To my surprise, after another 15 minutes our order was not yet ready! I was just going to walk out when my order finally arrived. They apparently decided to «rush» our order, but interestingly the burger was cold and the fries wilted. I should have just left, but by now; my son would have ate anything that looked like food since he was famished. The only thing that was decent was their shakes again but the quality of their burger and their service was unprofessional, inept, and just plain rude.
I normally give an establishment the benefit of a doubt, but in this case; if I could give someone «ZERO STARS», and in that case I would still be kind. I can understand service being not the best if they were super busy, but this has no excuse because they are just incompetent and rude!
BTW, I gave then a second chance, there will not be a third chance. My Momma didn’t raise a dummy and I hope others will speak up about this sad excuse for a restaurant!

Apparently this place doesn’t teach their night shift about customer service. My gf and I walk into to order a carry out apparently we made the mistake and not knowing what we wanted right away because we spent the next 15 minutes being completely ignored by the whole staff. Once we were ready we stand at the register ready to order. The server she has time to seat others get them started chit chat with her manager. There were two people in before us. She comes to the counter gives them their milk shakes looks right at me and walks away before I could place my order. Needless to the say after that I decided it was time to go. So we left and went somewhere else where customer service was a priority. I sure do hope the manager reads this and does something to rectify the situation and or go on knowing her server lost them a customer.

Thought I should try Steak & Shake burger once in my life. Now I have. About every 8 years or so I torment myself with a burger from a fast food place that reminds me why I don’t eat burgers from fast food places. The fries were the most bland, unseasoned ones I’ve ever had.
I should’ve skipped the meal and went with a shake?

Love their hamburgers! And of course the milkshakes are so thick, you cannot use a straw at first. They have many kinds of shakes, there’s 1 for every age!
We went at 4pm and our bill was HALF OFF! I believe from 4 – 6 is happy hour, so that’s why it was half off.
Our waitress was SUPER FRIENDLY and I wish I remember her name.
Not sure about all the not-​so-​good reviews but we had a great experience!

There’s not too many diners or late night restaurants to eat at nearby. My boyfriend and I drove 30 minutes just to have dinner at 10pm.
Service was atrocious. Place was dead and all the workers were eating at the bar stools so we stood by the door for nearly 5 minutes nearing walking out. Someone’s ears must have perked up when my boyfriend mentioned walking out because two people got up to seat us.
We ordered immediately because we already knew what we wanted.
Service took awhile to get drinks and food. We were handed our bill before our food even arrived. Nothing like feeling rushed.
Our burgers were wrong but neither one of us cared to send them back. Fries were crispy and not soggy from the chili and cheese.
We wanted to order milk shakes to go and we were treated like it was the biggest deal in the world.
Milk shakes were wrong. Boyfriend wanted vanilla milkshake with hot fudge. No hot fudge. I ordered Oreo cookies and cream milkshake. It was just vanilla ice cream topped with a few crumbles of cookie. I could have made that at home for cheaper. Picture showed everything all blended.
It’s not my favorite place to eat and not really worth the drive but when there’s not many places to eat late at night it becomes an option. Nothing to write home about.

Beautiful day to have a peanut butter shake with whipped cream and a cherry.
That was as good as it got.
The order taker was so disconnected…as she took my order it seemed like a huge effort
And when she handed the order out the window. she did NOT even make eye contact or look my way blindly handing the bag out the window…
