ADDapt Michigan provides counseling and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, families and adults. We specialize in ADD, ADHD, child and adolescent psychology. Our experienced and highly skilled professionals help individuals and families overcome challenges associated with ADD/​ADHD and related conditions like Asperger’s Disorder, other learning disabilities, depression, Bipolar Disorder, and anxiety disorders. We also evaluate and treat individuals suffering from eating disorders ranging from morbid obesity to anorexia and bulimia.

The ADDapt program is committed to providing individuals and families with a comprehensive understanding of how and why a loved one is struggling with apparent ADHD and ADHD-​related problems and the impact this is having on interpersonal and family relationships, and academic, vocational, and social functioning.

We offer a wide range of practical, effective and affordable services that can replace or greatly increase the effectiveness of more traditional treatments such as medication management and psychotherapy. Business Owner

Melhim W. Restum received hi Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Oakland University in 1974 and a PhD in Developmental Psychology from Wayne State University in 1982. Dr. Restum was on staff at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital and had a long-​standing affiliation with the Detroit Medical Center and WSU’s Department of Psychiatry. His research experience includes teacher-​student interactions, social skills training, and psychotherapy effectiveness. Dr. Restum regularly participates in training programs on various childhood psychiatric conditions. His clinical practice includes adults and couples as well as children. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, Michigan Psychological Association, and was a longtime supporter of the Michigan Association for Emotionally Disturbed Children.
