Specialties
We offer a truly unique educational experience for children and families. We offer programs for preschool, PreKindergarten, developmental Kindergarten and schoolage children in the areas of reading, writing, and math. It is our belief that providing children with the proper tools and strategies, to accomplish difficult tasks will empower them to attempt more difficult tasks. This positive foundation will enable them to continue building upon their strengths and instills confidence in their own abilities as they move from one accomplishment into another.
History
Established in 2012.
Four certified teachers came together with a passion to reach out to children and families at an early age to teach them how they can be successful in school and in life! Our staff holds Master’s degrees in literacy and are State of Michigan endorsed Reading Specialists.
We believe it is vital to surround children at the earliest possible age with good quality literature and immerse them in language and the sounds of language as early as possible.
As children practice and play with language in all of it’s forms they gain confidence. Confidence is the key to successful readers, learners. We believe that education needs to be well-rounded and all units of studies are inter-related.
As certified teachers, our aim is to ensure that your child is equipped with ALL of the tools they need to be successful in school, in life!
Meet the Business Owner
Heather M.
Business Owner
Heather Matson recently completed her master’s degree in literacy and is a State endorsed Reading Specialist. For the past eight years Heather has energetically invested much of her time and energies into the field of Early Childhood Development.
As director of I Can! Educational Center, Ms. Matson teaches with a passion and dedication to her students and families that set her apart. Her most passionate beliefs are that every child can learn… and every child can «be successful!» It is her belief that the key to a child’s success is having strong mentor-figures who believe in the child’s own, special, personally-unique potential.
Ms. Matson attributes her success in the field of education to her late father, Paul Henderson (former Director of Special Education for Troy Schools, in Michigan). «I inherited my father’s passion for educating students and working with families. What I know regarding education, is a result of being raised by such an outstanding educator.»
