Henry Ford Medical Center – Sterling Heights

I was SHOCKED to see what was written on here by another person about Cindy L. at the lab! I have been a patient at this center for more than 20 years and have interacted with this person for close to all of that time. I now go into the lab at least 4 times a month due to a medication I take. I have never witnessed anything like the behavior described from anyone working at the lab. I have on the other hand witnessed many patients get angry and upset with the check in girls and have only seen them handle it with patience and grace. I have seen several situations where Cindy L. was the first to speak up and help someone (one instance was a ER patient crying and she went right over to help). I do know they are asked insurance questions a lot and are not allowed to answer or advise on Insurance, since they are a medical facility. I can only assume this person was overwhelmed with the situation of their sick friend and frustrated that she wasn’t able to answer them with information they wanted.

Went here 2 days ago since I had a severe allergic reaction! The doctor was not knowledgable at all, unfortunately I do not know his name.
I explained to him that I have been taking steroid pills and Benadryl along with putting on steroid cream since I had gone to my family doctor the day before and she prescribed me the above. So I asked him if he had anything stronger such as giving me a shot of steroids based on how I felt. He wanted to keep me on pills although my whole body was covered with hives and I was afraid that it would get to my throat also. The doctor could not decide what to give me. I finally told him I want a shot now. They gave me the lowest dose that did not do anything!!!
Here is the worse experience. When the nurse came to give me the shot, he looked like he was half asleep, very grumpy and not talkative to make the patient feel comfortable. He gave me the shot on my arm and walked away, as I looked down my arm started to bleed. So then i asked if I could get a band aid, then he comes back and tells me «your arm is bleeding cause u didn’t put pressure on it». Lol really mr nurse. You did not tell Me to put pressure on it, you didn’t even put anything on it. If you care about your health at all please do not go here.
P.S next day I had to go to Beaumont since the allergies got to my throat and they took care of me right away and I feel so much better!!!

I just got home from taking a 92-​year old terminally-​ill woman here for lab work. «CINDY L.» (who works at the desk taking in patient’s insurance information) is a rude robot who has no business working with the ill, the elderly or people in general. She was very rude, loud and repetitive when I tried asking an insurance question on behalf of the elderly woman and then laughed about the way she treated me with her co-​worker sitting at the desk next to her.

Very clean area. Doctor, nurse & front desk representative are very friendly. I like this place as a medical treatment.

Got blood taken and was told if something was wrong that they would call and if everything was ok they would mail the results in 2 – 3 days. After a week past, i went to pick up the results my self, to see that there were 4 things off on my lab results. But the DR didnt have time to call me to discuss them, so i had to call. Dr wasnt responsible enough for me, couldnt even do the follow up call for the blood work. Wont be back.

Iv never had to wait very long (accept once) my doctor is good and getting blood work is pretty fast and simple.

Henry Ford Health System has been the go to place for all my medical problems. The medical center located on 15 mile rd between Ryan and Dequindre is very convenient for me in terms of location and is a one stop shop where I can see my primary care physician, pick up prescriptions and get lab work done. I do miss having Optim Eyes at this located but the the extended hours at their new location on John R Rd in the Oakland Mall premises.
The staff at this location are friendly and the wait times are minimal (obviously there are exceptions to this rule). I am very satisfied with their service and the quality of the physicians and other support staff and would recommend this medical center to anyone.
cons: very boring choice of magazines in the lounge. (if your an employee at this location please let someone know that we do not want to read about diabetes and home furnishing all the time)
