Restaurant, deli, and bar. Full menu includes burgers, pizza, sandwiches, fish and chips, appetizers, plus many other items. We also have daily specials. We have a full bar and nightly events such as karaōke, open mic, poker, free pool, occasional live music. There is a banquet room for parties. Just an all around great place for everyone to come and relax with friends and family.

Overall crappy. Relatively inexpensive beer but generally terrible service and even worse food. I recommend skipping altogether and find another dive bar to hit. And when I say dive I mean it, freakin nasty in the restrooms and really all around.
1.5 stars is the verdict.

Good place to go to during the day time. My family and I have been coming here for the last 3 years and get medium to good service. The view is great and the outdoor seating is where we prefer to sit. We changed it up a bit and decided to go to open mic night on a Sunday. Totally different crowd. What seemed to be a group of regulars, (I only say this because they had prompt service throughout the evening while everyone else had to stand in a long line) thought that our try at open mic was awful, couldn’t keep their opinions to themselves, and continued to bully us outside on a different matter. They were loud, belligerent, obnoxious bullies and its a shame people like that can pollute a nice place like Steilacoom Pub. We’re not coming back for open mic, but we may occasionally stop for a beer & appetizer during the day.

This is the perfect place to go to if you want to have a drink, and enjoy a good time. The staff is friendly and fun to interact with. There are pool tables and no shortage of people to play with.
The food is the typical bar food. Nothing fancy, but it hits the spot. If you are looking to chill out and enjoy a drink, this is the place.

They have the best beers on tap, and their almost all local! The food is a notch above average for bar food. Wifey and I have been there many times and have always had EXCELLENT service. Pool tables are competitive and rarely crowded. What else can I say, besides, «you should check this place out».

Ordered a pint and a bacon cheese burger. My beer had what looked like little pine needles (¼ long) in the head. Burger came and no bacon. When I asked about the bacon they sent over the woman I ordered with. She told me I only ordered a cheese burger and, here’s the kicker, that she asked me three (three!) times if I wanted only a plain cheese burger. As this was definitely not my recollection of events I just went back to my sticky table as we were clearly not operating in the same reality. Or perhaps she mistook me for someone else? In any case I don’t know if I was charged for bacon or not and felt foolish for paying up front. Note, this is the first time I’ve been compelled to write a bad review.

I live around in Steilacoom, this could become my favorite spot if the workers would change their attitudes. Only one person was truly nice and seemed genuine about their service to me, and it was a girl who was new working there.

University Place, WA
I drive past this place everyday and there’s always people there. My husband and I finally decided it was time to try it. We walked in and the entry is packed with people ordering ice cream. We took a seat and checked out the menu. You have to order at the cashier, get a number and wait for the food to come to you. Typical bar/​pub food, burgers and fried stuff… we got the fish and chips. I was unimpressed. The fish was beer battered and golden brown but it was somewhat rubbery. The coleslaw was plain and the fries were cold shoe string fries. I wouldn’t order it again.
I think the only reason this place stays busy is because of its highly visible corner location, simple menu, and lack of completion in the small seaside town. But I can’t recommend it.

Went here on Easter with my dog and enjoyed our lunch on the patio! Everyone who worked there was sweet, helpful, and made sure I was constantly checked on. I got the chicken strip basket with fries and it was delicious. Huge portion of food too! They even brought out a tub of water for my dog to drink out of. The prices are reasonable and the view is killer! It’s small and seems like a lot of locals go here! I’d check it out! Definitely an enjoyable hangout spot with great food and service.

The Bloody Mary is a must one of the best I’ve ever had… this is my first time there I will definitely go back we had breakfast portions are so huge two people can easily eat one meal. The staff was very attentive and friendly

First time visit today. Thanks to school delays, we arrived right at breakfast/​lunch switch but they were very gracious to still let us order breakfast. Much appreciated and wow, breakfast did not disappoint. We had the Vera Cruz omelette. Presentation was perfect and it tasted super! Hot and fresh. Staff were very sweet and welcoming — even the chef checked in with us. Reasonable price and a definite new breakfast favorite.

Good burgers, sandwiches and ice cream, typical dive bar style pub so it’s nothing fancy. Decent beer selection and good prices, terrible karaōke and a relaxed crowd. Service isn’t the best but it’s never bad.

I pass by this place all the time on my commute, but I’ve only ever been able to visit once. My husband and I missed the ferry to AI and were delighted to find this bar at the top of the hill. What a great way to pass the time until the next ferry. We had some sandwiches, which were just ok. We also had some delicious bloody Marys and played some most excellent pinball on my very favorite machine that I can never find anywhere! It was a busy summer Sat afternoon and we had a great time, everything just took forever. The bartender wasn’t an actual bartender and we walked her through how to make a bloody mary. The food took forever since everyone who missed the ferry had the same idea! It was alright in the end. The next time we visit family on the island, we’ll have to miss the ferry on purpose!

I have always loved this place! We used to go almost every weekend and enjoy karaōke and a few drinks. The food kind if takes a long time (at night, I don’t know about normal meal times) but it was always delicious! The same 2 bartenders were there Everytime I went so they knew us pretty well and made awesome drinks. I’m sad we moved so far away because this was my favorite hang out spot.

This place might be cool… If you’re a regular. I was really excited to check this place out in this neat, small town on the sound. I sat in the bar area for 12 minutes and watched three waitresses check in with some of the surrounding patrons never stopping and asking if I would like to be served (that’s why I was there, right?). Finally got a seat at the bar proper and waited probably 3 – 4 more minutes to get offended a drink. There are six or seven bar stools and only two others were occupied as I waited. The whole pub was moderately busy, but by no means swamped. Don’t waste your time. One star for atmosphere, one for medium beer selection. How can you be the only game in town and blow it on the service?

The ambience is super chill. Not a fancy place but it’s a great place to just relax at the bar. My friend & I were doing Patron shots. Can’t go wrong w chilled Patrom shots on a Thursday night.

As soon as u walk in, there’s a counter… And an ice cream fridge… With no ice cream in it. Hahahaha. U can either order at the front there or in the back (where the bar is).

Workers weren’t exactly unpleasant but not friendly either. Adult food was ok, frozen burgers and extremely greasy but toppings on mine were really good mushrooms & onions. Kids Macaroni and cheese was a total let down! At $ 5.50 I expected actual macaroni and cheese not Kraft with a sprinkle of shredded cheese on top. I don’t foresee us venturing back for the quality of food versus the price.
We were also unsure if we were supposed to clear the table ourselves or leave everything so we cleaned up and staff seemed bothered that we would inquire about what to do. So we left our dishes on the counter.

To update my last review for accuracy: There is another restroom in the pub for a total of two and it is handicap accessible.
Food update: A second visit had me ordering a burger and fries with fried oyster strips for an appetizer. The oyster strips were great and those fries just can’t be beat! The burger was delicious but my bleu cheese and onion burger had too much bleu cheese and onions. I know that sounds funny, but for me it was too much; both were falling out of the burger and all into the basket. I can’t get over how good the typical pub food is here and at a great price too. A great hangout spot if you’re in this historic village on the water.
