Central Shenandoah EMS Council specializes in education and training for Emergency Medical Services providers. Our educational programs consist of First Aid, AED and CPR training. Additionally, the Council offers accredited educational programs in both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) to training individuals to become Emergency Services providers. Our programs are accredited by the Virginia Department of Health’s Office of Emergency Medical Services.

History

Established in 1980.

Central Shenandoah EMS Council, Inc. is celebrating it’s 35^th Anniversary this year. For 35 years, CSEMS has proudly served as the regional coordinating body for EMS agencies in the Sixth Planning District of Virginia. During this time, there have been many changes in the world of prehospital care, but at the same time, the more things change, the more they stay the same. While looking back over the years, one thing is clear: the problems that plague EMS today are the same as those the industry faced in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
