Michael’s Pizza is an independently owned carry-​out/​dine-​in pizza shop located in downtown Statham, Georgia on Jefferson Street. Michael’s Pizza hopes to become your favorite place to go for great tasting pizza; offering thin and crispy as well as traditional American style pizzas, oven baked sandwiches, salads, wings, strombolis, calzones and bread sticks. We also offer gluten free options.

Our dough is made fresh in-​house and aged for 72 hours to allow the yeast to impart character and flavor in to the finished crust.

Our red sauce is made fresh in house and allowed to sit overnight before we use it, allowing all the herbs & spices to blend together adequately.

Our Italian sausage and ground beef are made fresh in house.

We use fresh 100% whole milk mozzarella cheese — no fillers, no preservatives… just real good cheese.

All of our veggie toppings are prepared fresh in house and never frozen.

We top our pizzas with a generous portion of fresh veggies and savory meats, something you wont see at many other pizzerias!

We strive to produce a quality, great tasting product that you and your family can enjoy time and time again. Come give us a try, if you are not 100% satisfied, we will do whatever it takes to make it right!

History

Established in 2013.

Michaels Pizza opened May 30th, 2013 and has been a staple in the Statham community since its opening. The shop is owned and operated by Brian Cowart, a native Georgian currently living in Statham.

Fresh ingredients make for a divine pizza. My family moved into the Winder area and discovered this local pizza shop nestled in downtown Statham. We are official groupies. We eat here at least once a week, sometimes more! If any friends come to visit from out of town, you can bet that we’re having pizza from this shop. Handmade dough, handmade red sauce, and fresh cut veggies are the staple to their success. Their «Usual Suspects» and «Magnum Pi» are my favorites. Not only do their pizzas obliterate every franchise pie, they could run the business on their hot wings. MASSIVE wings with tons of flavor. It doesn’t end there! For dessert, the homemade cannoli will make a true Italian miss their mother’s cooking. This place is hitting on all cylinders and is highly recommended from this repeat customer!

We’re new to the area and were so glad to see a downtown pizza place! Our family had calzones, a meatball sandwich and the pizza. Everything was fresh, hot, and very tasty! Customer service was great — we’ll definitely be regulars!

They aren’t closed, ate their last night. Freaking awesome. Two chains just opened shop in Statham, and I’m ashamed to admit that I was previously getting pizza delivered from one of them.
No more, it’ll be Michaels from here on out, awesome pizza guys, probably the best in the Athens area.

They closed for good 8÷29÷2014 so sad to hear this, we were driving there and called to place an order. Now where do we get great pizza and the most fantastic wings we have eaten. They said the owner was offered a job he could not pass up. :(Good luck Kathy and Mike!!!

Ordered a pizza for pickup the other night. We called on the way home and were there relatively quickly, so had to wait a few minutes (our fault– not theirs!). It was clear the lady running the place new her customer service. And I don’t use that lightly — as a previous service industry worker I have high expectations. She definitely exceeded them. She had each customer take a look at the good before leaving. She made sure as soon as ours came out we had it, no waiting around. The pizza was excellent! We had a pepperoni and half bacon. I am a bacon snob. I do not want a bunch of fatty bacon (I’m talking to you Pizza Hut). Michaels did not disappoint. The bacon was perfectly crispy, the crust was fantastic– crunchy on the outside soft and chewy inside. The sauce has more of a tang than papa johns– it’s not sweet, but a good sauce shouldn’t be. You can tell the ingredients truly are fresh and top quality. We will for sure order again!
