United Artists Staten Island 16 & RPX

Well SInce someone claimed that the Other United Artist was closed I was forced to write another review about the same place.
not impressed since people don’t clean after themselves, people talk during the movies, people smoking weed so not a fan. This place was great when it first opened and I know cuz I once worked there. Shame

Crazy people here! Seriously can’t people have a good time? Came out of the movie theater to discover around 7 cars with slashed tires!!! In the row we parked all tires were slashed and people complaining. Thank god our car tires were not slashed, but I feel bad for other people that got their tires slashed. I will never come here again.

Movie was great but every time I go there are two people behind concessions stand and a long line. For some reason the popcorn always taste stale.

I’ve been coming to this movie theaters for years and its just a regular movie theaters. Since its the biggest one in Staten Island, this is where you go when you have nothing else to do. I must say the chair are getting more comfortable.

Rpx prices are silly expensive for something that seems like just a louder version of a regular seat so I skip out on those ripoff seats. The amount it costs to pay for those particular tickets You can buy IMAX tickets in New Jersey for the money and really there is no comparison between RPX and IMAX.
The staff here is pretty hood (has been for a while) and barely have enough neurons firing upstairs to get you popcorn and soda. Pretty poor attitudes behind the counter, and I get it that’s not a dream job but don’t take that out on customers, your happiness is not their responsibility.
The filthiness of the theatre is a big detractor for me honestly, the main reason why I gave this place 3 stars (and that’s being generous considering the slim options on Staten Island). Clean the damn seats and make this place smell nice, it’s not really that difficult. The ratchet staff needs cleansing as well. Can’t stress that enough! Other than that it’s not a bad place to visit in the daytime to avoid the kids and chaos. One person who reviewed this theatre complained about the long lines, well they have a machine inside that I always use to buy the tickets and skip that outside line!
Popcorn is decent, butter is a bit gross use it sparingly. Popcorn and butter at the Dine in AMC is without a doubt is higher quality. It gets the job done when you want to be lazy and stay local for a flick.

I gave it two stars since they are actually going to show a film in this pigsty of a theatre.

Theater is nice but expensive, spent $ 40 for a movie for me and my wife, with pop corn and drinks,

I came here to watch Jurassic World.
First, upon arrival, we were told the wrong theater. We had to go ask someone else.
When we went to the correct theater, the theater was hot and humid. Chairs were dirty. There are trays in the middle of each row, and most of them were wet and sticky. I’m not sure if it’s always like this, but this will be the first and only time for me. It’s so gross. And the popcorn doesn’t taste fresh even though it looks like it’s freshly popped. Mehhhhh.

Screen was small. 16×9 aspect ratio instead of anamorphic. Sound was annoyingly loud but not particularly immersive. Expensive for a suburban theater in a middle class neighborhood.
Families wouldn’t keep their kids quiet. You know adults go to Pixar movies too?
Most egregiously, absolutely no legal pedestrian access. No crosswalks. The sidewalk on the side of the theater abruptly ends. Literally the only way to get in or out without jaywalking is to take a bus. I had to run across a moderately busy road to get here. The theater ought to invest a few bucks in their community and get pedestrians access.
Only mitigating factor is the comfortable seats.

It’s pretty close to home. The theatre isn’t the greatest. But I enjoy coming here to watch a movie when I have some downtime. The food service isn’t the best. Takes a while to get a burger or chicken food. Popcorns are always ready. So are the drinks. The staff are ordinary. So your experience will go nothing more then average. Enjoy the visit!

So there are a few theaters on staten island but I only go to this one.
PROS
Several arcade games for kids while waiting for the movies [this can also be a con for parents who want to save, sorry lol!]
The seats recline and are not straight back so if you are sitting in the back your view is not blocked by those in front of you due to the seating positions
Rarely have I ever experienced any problem here
There is a huge parking lot
Convenient location right near the highway and there are several buses that can take you if you do not drive
Cheaper than the city theaters
Good customer service
CONS
The lines can get extremely long and there are never more than 2 windows open
The lines on the inside for concession is the same way [there is only one floor unlike those theaters in the city where you can go to another floor to get stuff]
Although the lot is big, if there is no parking then you are screwed because there is no street parking in this area
Coke slushy never works!!! This drives me crazy but this is not the only location that does this
I come here all the time if I am not at battery regal park

Best movie theater in Staten Island! This place is always clean, the screens are big, the seats are spacious and the staff is pleasant. The tickets are a few dollars more than the atrium but I usually buy my movie tickets in bulk at Costco it comes out to $ 8 a person!

I don’t have anything great to say, don’t have anything negative to say about it. I do have to warn you movie goers about RPX. $ 5.50 extra for RPX is a rip off. it didn’t really do anything for me so it was a waste of $ 5.50. I’d rather go to the theaters in Menlo Park bc they have comfier seats, but if I don’t want to travel all the way to Menlo Park, this theater will do just fine

This is the best theater on SI, which isn’t really saying much at all. I do not recommend seeing a movie here during peak times as this place gets crazy busy. The concession stand line moves painfully slow. The entire theater could be cleaner. The seats are comfortable enough. If you want to see a movie locally than this is your best option. If you’re willing to travel, I suggest heading over to Jersey for a dine in theater– cleaner and way more comfortable.

Good place to love to watch my movies on rpx so I come here the seats are awesome some nights can get a little loud with ghetto kids but over all good to go.

Prob. the best theatre on the Island for sure.
They need to clean up the place a bit more though, the concession stand especially, how are you purchasing food there and theres a mess around and things thrown all over.
Can get really crowded so I would not go on a busy night or when the movie just came out cause its a line to get in that place and then another for snacks and another to get in your theatre!
Theres games to play in there like a small arcade area.
I come here if I don’t feel like traveling far but I always choose the dine-​in theaters every time its so worth it!

Only get three stars because compared to the atrium on staten island this is extravagant. It’s an okay theatre, usually clean. I just have seen better. Unfortunately this is the best one on Staten Island. The workers have attitudes and barely want to serve you your popcorn. My cap fell off my drink and she rolled her eyes to give me a new one. Not my fault you didn’t properly put it on. Become a regal member, it’s free. You get many coupons usually every time you go. Eventually you will receive a free movie ticket.

As far as Staten Island movie theaters go, this is by far the best one. Easy to get to, easy to park, and theater itself is big, modern and clean.
This new RPX install, it got upgraded to whole new level — bigger screen, better sound system, new projectors and new leather seats with headrests.
I always go for morning shows — less people, no line, and you get to sit wherever you want. Perfect!

LOcated mid island is this supposedly great movie theater. Let’s do the good, bad and ugly.
The good: the nicest and biggest of the only 3 theaters on the island. They have security and police to keep some order. But is that a good thing if you need them at a movie theater?
The bad: this place is super ghetto on the weekends, hence security and police presence. The place is always crowded and you have to buy tickets outside, wtf? They have only 2 ticket kiosks which are located inside. The security will search you like your a perpetrator and confiscate and food you bring.
The ugly: located in a not so nice area, the staff are slow and rude, especially at the concession stand. The bathrooms are filthy as well as the individual screening rooms. There is always sticky floors and popcorn all over. I have never seen anyone clean inside. The prices are the highest on the island.
I would only go here if i was in the area and really bored.

This is a great theater, just as good as all other UA/​Regals throughout NY.
There’s not much else to say that I haven’t already mentioned in the several other reviews I’ve written of other Regals: great, comfortable seats, good stadium seating, and the best popcorn of all of the chains (and free refills of course is key).
That’s the strength of this chain: consistency and quality. I’m always happy to go to a Regal because I know pretty much exactly what I’m getting, and it’s almost always a great experience.
