Place blows. Produce is cheap because it’s old! The slob of a manager is rude and inappropriate with the teenage girls who work the register. Someone call Chris Hansen!

I use the top tomato on bay Street and have never had an issue. This one is dirty and sells expired food. I was running late for work so figured I’d run inband grab a wrap quick for lunch since I didn’t have time to make it at home. 5.99 for a small simple wrap is kind of pricey but I had to pay for my laziness so I bought it. I didn’t even take a bite. The bottom of the wrap was so slimy, I open the wrap to see very gray roast beef, mushy tomatoes and hardened Swiss cheese that has turned a yellow color. I look at the sell by date, and it was yesterday. Who knows when it was even prepared since that date was included. Now I’m out 6 bucks, have no lunch and can’t stop gagging from memories of the smell of the wrap. Buyer beware, premade foods not fresh.

I started going to top tomato after many years of forgetting it is there. The side street sucks people park right past the corner to make it impossible to turn on and also parking lot sucks people just park like a free for all! Clientele are south shore people who aren’t worried other people exist in the world. But anyway fish dept in the front is fair with prices and quality stuff. The veggies have good taste and the deli counter proletariat are good just need a better system of helping people. People order and just stand around and don’t let you see inside the glass cases. Other than the people who shop there I have no complaints.

The only reason I go to this place is for is the fish in front of the store. The fruits and veggies are ok, I bought a bag of cherries once that had nice ones on top of the bag and a bunch of weirdly deformed ones at the bottom. The check out girls are a hit or miss. Sometimes they’re nice, sometimes they are nasty.

I went in today I did not hear, I’m assuming it was the manager his name was Ceaser, tell me to go to another register cause he was closing it and he was rude and said very loudly that I was deaf my head was down and was not paying attention. The rudest person I have ever met now I know why they always have new people working there. This store has changed a lot in 20 years I will never go there again.

this top tomatoe is the worst i have ever been too. the workers in the deli area are not courteous at all they seem bothered when you ask them for the prepared food or the cold cuts. the prepared food is so dry will never buy again/or waste my time to go there again. the catering is horrible when they deliver the trays look horrible all crushed there’s oil dripping all over the place that when they dropped it off on my counter the oil was so thick that even if you try to clean it, it doesn’t wipe off its discusting! the store is very diry and small and the produce is not great either you have to eat it with in that day because your already buying it rotten. i gave it one star too bad it doesn’t have negative stars!

I’ve gotten fruit from this location many times to press fresh squeezed juices. The shelf life is a day at best when you bring it home. Good for juicing when using it that day but doesn’t last at all. Produce rots and molds very fast because they freeze it. I’ve returned multiple items and to be honest I’m tired of taking bread, shallots, veggies back. I’ll shop elsewhere and pay more for better quality.

I have to say I really like this place everything is fresh and clean. The only problem I have is that they use the same machines to cut cheese and meats with out cleaning. But I guess u can’t have everyrhing. Love the fact that they price match the produce really saves time.

I used to go to Top Tomato for everything. The prices have gotten outrageous and just today i got a pickle which used to be 99 cents, today they gave half of a pickle for a dollar seventy five. The management here is rude and abrupt and I don’t appreciate getting such little food for the prices that they have been charging. Going to go to somewhere where they don’t charge a fortune for barely any product.

Great prices and fresh food it was a pleasure shopping my here. There was lots of parking and and enough employees inside to make sure all customers found what they were looking for and it was very clean

I used to really love shopping here. It is close to my home and their selection of meat and produce is very good. However, there were a few little issues that has now made me decide to not return to this store. 1. Sour milk that I just purchased(which in all fairness can happen any where) 2. The produce is under attack of fruit flies and other types of insects. Gross! 3. Price discrepancy at the check out. The cashier was very rude to me and said, «This is the price. Do you want it or not?» Customer service takes a back seat in this place! I definitely agree with an earlier post that this place has a thug atmosphere. It’s a shame because I really enjoyed shopping here. Well, it’s SI… There are plenty of other places to get meat, produce and cold cuts.

The prices can’t be beat as far as produce. The deli counter is reasonable, and their homemade deli meats can rival Boars Head. The aisles are insanely small, but I’m always in and out fairly quickly. Fresh breads are also delicious there. Super soft with a crispy crust.

Tried nicely to speak with Management — No gloves used — EVER! Bread was handled WITHOUT gloves — HYGIENE. Could care less. Rude and obnoxious answer we got after asking. Beware of Bread… Was rude to our beloved SENIORS.

I wouldn’t really advise going to this place. There are plenty of good Italian markets, there’s no reason to go to this place unless you like sub-par food, bad prices, and a nasty thug-like atmosphere.

Deli section is quite good and very popular. Nice ambiance in the store. The Italian section has some great store made selections like focaccia, chicken parm, mozzerella, and seafood salad. has a fish market too with sales sometimes. The sausage is good too. Parking sometimes can be a hassle.

Their meats are always good & I like their deli section. The fish is hit or miss. I don’t really care for their produce and the actual aisles are pretty small. The parking lot is pretty tight also. The prices are fair, but definitely try their patties and marinated meats-you won’t be disappointed! The deli has a great selection of salads and foccacias, so it’s always a good place to pick up something quick.
