We offer many types of braces and treatment options. Patients can choose from traditional braces, clear braces, lingual braces, and in Invisalign. At our office we focus heavily on non-​extraction, space gaining/​growth oriented treatment.

We make high-​quality orthodontic care affordable with a variety of payment options to meet your needs, including no-​interest payment plans and we accept re-​imbursement from most insurance carriers reducing your fee.

History

Established in 1945.

Dr. Nicholas Ippolito started practicing Orthodontics after graduating Columbia University in downtown Brooklyn in the Willaimsburg Savings Bank building. Dr. Robert Seminara joined him as an associate following his graduation from New York University. Dr Seminara added a satellite office in New Dorp, Staten Island in the early 1970’s. While at his general practice residency in Staten Island, Dr Michael Donato met Dr. Seminara, and was invited to join him in Staten Island and Brooklyn as an associate. Following graduation from his orthodontic program, Dr. Donato was made full partner in Robert Seminara PC. Six years later they moved the Staten Island office to its current location in Richmondtown, incorporated as Orthodontic Specialist PC, added a Metuchen New Jersey location in 2006, and still continue to practice in the same building in downtown Brooklyn that Dr. Ippolito began in over 75 years ago! We are proud of our long tradition of providing quality orthodontic treatment.

Business Owner

Dr. Michael Donato Jr. was born in Brooklyn was raised in Staten Island. After finishing high school he entered Saint Peters University in Jersey City, NJ and graduated with a B.S. in Biology.

Dr. Donato attended Dental School at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark obtaining a Doctorate in Dental Medicine while graduating in the top ten percent of his class with honors. He returned to Staten Island to do a general practice residency, followed by a three year post-​graduate program in Orthodontics back in New Jersey at UMDNJ.

Dr. Donato remains very active in Organized Dentistry, Hospital Dentistry, and the NY and NJ communities. He is a Diplomate in the Amer. Bd. of Orthodontics, fellow of the American College and International College of Dentists. He is also the section chief of orthodontics at NY Methodist Hospital teaching new dentists the art of orthodontics.
