The stylist honest really do a good job but the lack of stars is due to their hours. It really is ridiculous that there only open 4 days a week, one of them closed on Sunday’s a day were the vast majority of people are off. They do not begin their week till Wednesday which they close at 5. (Most working people work 9 – 5) and they close at 7 on the other days which also barley gives you any time to get your hair done if you leave work at 5. Saturday’s it is nearly impossible to get an appointment. If you do happen to get an appointment many of the stylist do not act in a professional manner. They gossip amongst each other and the only topic they seem to talk about is drinking. The cash only thing is a bit outrages as well.

From when I sat down in the chair to when I walked out of the salon, everything was great ! Jess did my hair and it came out PERFECT ! She listened to what I was trying to achieve, explained everything to me, and delivered an amazing result ! I had a full head of highlights and low lights with a toner, cut and blowout. My stylist didn’t listen to what I wanted, and I ended up with a weird hair color that didn’t even closely resemble the multiple pictures I showed her. Yeah, it looked great curled, but when I washed it 2 days later my highlights were uneven and blotchy, and I didn’t even ask for highlights! Extremely disappointed, especially because it was so expensive. Got my hair fixed at a different salon and I love the outcome.

Melrose Place provides excellent customer service and topnotch beautification. They certainly saved the day when there was a problem with another salon the day of my bridal shower. Roseann was kind enough to squeeze me into an appointment with Jess for makeup and Julianne for hair. I usually get my makeup done by Christina, but Jess was just as amazing. It was the first time Julianne did my hair and I absolutely loved it. Everyone raved about my hair and makeup at the shower. A huge thank you to Roseann, Jess and Julianne for saving the day. I will certainly be booking them for my wedding.

I found this salon on Unilocal.They had good reviews and pictures of their works. Then I followed their Instagram account I liked what they are doing. Bianca did my hair — cut and balayage. I like the result. And like the service overall.

Went to this salon after following them on Instagram for some time now and I was definitely happy with my results. It was very hard for me to choose who I actually wanted to do my hair lol. Bianca was the one who did my hair and to be honest all the girls there are just amazing at what they do. After going to 4 different places in Brooklyn where they totally messed up my hair and didn’t do what I asked them to do. I had to go all the way to Staten Island to get what I wanted. And I couldn’t have been more happier with my decision. I am a very picky person and at the end I was super happy with how my hair ended up. Definitely recommend this salon and I am definitely coming back here again!

So I decided I wanted to try a new place to get my hair done and had listened to fellow Unilocalers say Christina is great. I had ombré that I wanted to lighten up and take out some of the gold and my previous salon was not able achieve this. As soon as I got there I had loved the color of her hair and told her that was the look I was going for. She is very honest and told me the option that worked
Best for me. She also mentioned for a little extra there was a product to put in the bleach that allows it to stay on longer and not damage the hair so I opted for this. She also had put a toner in my hair (this is something my previous salon did not do) I absolutely love the color and it’s exactly what I was looking for. I’m sure she does great work overall but if you want to be a blonde she is great! She does get very booked especially during the busy months so make sure you make an appointment in advance. She also mentioned to me if at any time I’m not happy with how the color looks I can come in and get a toner put in as often as I like with no appointment for 15 bucks. (This does not include blow out) that’s awesome! Will definitely be returning.

I showed Christina a picture and she put the picture to shame!!! I just left the Melrose Place in Staten Island and Christina is my new hair stylist!!! I am definitely not a person who writes a review on a site but, I need to rave about this place!!! A great atmosphere, clean, and the staff is very, very nice!!! Christina did exactly what I wanted and more and she was extremely friendly!!! Her mother and her are definitely a great team for building the Melrose Place!!! Bianca has been doing my hair for a little over a year now and I am ALWAYS happy with the results. She is very good at what she does and I would definitely recommend her service to anyone seeking a new hairdresser. The salon itself is nothing to brag about. The staff, though very friendly are also unprofessional. Most of the time they are hanging out waiting for a customer. It is only open 4 days a week and they have a new cash only policy which I was completely turned off by on my last visit. You never know how much your services will come out too and if it is going to be enforced they need to let their customers know when making the appointment.

I honestly don’t know what the person who wrote the bad review was talking about. The staff is extremely friendly and talented. You don’t have to be old to be talented? A bit dramatic of a review. Everyone there has been nothing but nice and accommodating (and no I was not friends with these stylists before trying it out for the first time) I’ve been going here since they opened and I could not be more pleased with my hair. I’ve literally had strangers stop and compliment me/​ask where I get my hair done. Not only do I notice how much my hair has changed for the better, but the transformations I see in other people are mind blowing. Give this salon a try and I promise you will not be disappointed. I’ve also recommended it to friends who now swear by it and have left their salons of many years. It’s also conveniently located right by the great kills train so I can go there straight from work :)

I had been following this salon on Instagram for the past few months and finally got a chance to go in. As soon as I met with Christina, she made me feel extremely comfortable. She gave me a great cut and an awesome color, I left feeling like a new woman. I will definitely be back and I will also be bringing my daughter there for cuts as well. I’m even looking at them to book for my wedding :)

My favorite salon on Staten Island. Bianca is amazing! Absolute best at color, blowouts, and cuts! Young and fresh not dull and stuffy like other salons! LOVE LOVE LOVE

Worst hair salon ever. the girls are so rude and chatty. This one girl who did my hair her name starts with a V i don’t want to give her name away because she was just so god darn awful. She needs to go back to hair school !

Christina has been doing my hair and make up for weddings, parties, and fundraiser since they opened. I found melrose place bc my husbands business is around the corner. She is extremely professional and very polite to speak with while she is making me look my best. My step daughter goes to her for all the above and also for haircuts and dye jobs. My stepdaughter has thick curly dark hair and wanted to go blonde. Not an easy task. Christina set realistic expectations and got her hair much lighter with no breakage. Christina is someone I recommend to all of my friends and their teenage girls. I have another appointment with her in a few weeks and I’m very excited.

Best salon I have ever been to! I was so impressed with my stylist Christina! I got a full head of highlights and my sister got an ombré by Julianne. The best I have ever seen and received! Perhaps the most unprofessional salon, and I’ve been to plenty of places on SI, I have ever walked into. I pretty much get the same cut all the time, it’s only my color that can get screwed up, so I decided to be super cheap and bought a groupon for this place. I just didn’t feel like spending $ 130+ at my usual salon. I figured I might even find a place closer to home that I like. The stylists are literally out of high school. I’m going to bet most probably just graduated beauty school and had I known this beforehand I would have never went to this place. I’m in my 30s, and besides the receptionist, was the oldest person in there. I didn’t get offered a drink, water or even asked if I wanted my jacket to be hung up until the receptionist saw me walking to the chair with my jacket and took it from me to throw on a seat in the back. Really? They can’t afford more coat hooks? The girl Julianne, while nice and she did give me a nice hair cut, was about as professional as a 12 year old on wall street, along with the other teeny boppers in there. Most were dressed like either they rolled out of bed or just got home from Djais. I sat for 2 hours while her and the other stylists joked and gossiped over my head, I heard about who was going to get wasted the next night and literally I wanted to smash my head into the wall. When she went to go mix my color, she had to check what to do with another stylist, so I knew then that all the grouponers got sent to the stylists with no experience. What really put the icing on the cake was when another client didn’t «tip her enough» and she took the tip money after the client walked out and threw it at her chair yelling like a child «Are you kidding me.» I just kept thinking in my head this place can’t be serious. I know it used to be under a different name, so I have no clue who owns it now, where the hell these supposed «stylists» came from and what type of clients they are trying to attract. It seemed like all the other people in there had groupons too or were friends of the stylists. Gee, wonder why lol? Cut was great, color wasn’t what I asked for and there atmosphere is –1. It really is true you get what you pay got. I would never go back to this place.

Booked this salon for a trial 2 WEEKS before my wedding (after another trial went haywire). SO accomodating and sooo talented. Ended up bringing my mom, MOH, and 4 bridesmaids to do their hair and makeup there. Prices were awesome and I’m not really sure which girl was the best since they all did awesome jobs. Noelle did my hair (curls and pullback) and the curls lasted until the next day. Definitely making the switch to this salon for all my party needs… especially after getting the royal treatment (and price) for my wedding
