Gerardi’s Farmer Market & Nursery

This place is awesome! Their options are sometimes limited as to what can be naturally grown locally from NJ. Their food is all natural and lasts a longer then other places I would normally go and get fruits/​veggies from. Their place across the street is great also! Beautiful trees & landscaping ideas from their sales guy there is a great help! Love shopping there everytime!

Gerardi’s is a special place. I’m not sure why: Maybe it’s that it is both an indoors and outdoors market so you have fresh air during your shopping expedition. It’s a friendly, unpretentious place, and it’s not cold and overwhelming as supermarkets tend to be. I like that they carry Twin Oaks spiced tofus, which you can slice right from the package and eat. In August the jersey tomatoes are top-​notch. The portobello mushrooms are priced well, as are the grapes, which I like to freeze in summer. While the plants look great I haven’t bought many. Mostly it’s cilantro, tomatoes, potatoes, mushrooms, zukes and cukes for my summer fare, and those are consistently excellent. Plantains, avocados, cherries and strawberries have also been excellent. The dairy case has just about all you need, from Greek yogurt, butter (Hotel butter too) sour cream, half and half, along with milk, of course.

I woukd give a 5 star rating if I had something to compare this place too in Staten Island so I won’t to be fair because I sure there is but I’m not sure. Anyway the fruit, vegetables and plants are always fresh every time I go there. We went there recently to get some ideas for the front landscape of our new house and came back with a better idea thanks to Eric who works there. He really knows his $hit! The prices were fair if not even better than the box stores. I am going back this week to buy a few trees, shrubs, and other plants. Thanks Eric!

It’s where you go to get your stuff. Trees shrubs flowers bushes, even produce and some food. All of it’s there, fresh, and knowledgeable staff too.

Fresh veggies from Gerardi’s own farm in Jersey, cheap milk, and quality dairy — all just a block away. Life is good with just that. But there’s also a good selection of garden supplies: shrubbery, flowers, herbs to keep your garden growing.
Also keep an eye in the daily $ 1 discount baskets.
They also get points for all they do for neighborhood beautification.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. First of all you can find vegetables here you will NOT find at your average grocery store i.e. African Eggplant! The prices and freshness can not be beat. We buy our milk, eggs, vegetables and more from here weekly! The atmosphere is quaint and semi outdoorsy, the staff is friendly which is rare for any Staten Island business, and they even have a garden center across the street for plants, flowers, etc. I eat a lot of veggies so this is the place to go if you do too!

This place is nice and across the street is front door and outdoor stuff for the house… The fruits looks super fresh so does the veggies… The milk is 2.99 a gallon which I think is awesome since milk everywhere is three something for even four something which I think is outrages… The place is outdoors but they keep the area really clean…

Gerardi’s is finally open for the season! Yay! They’re a great stop to pick up some milk, fruit, vegetables quick on the way home from work. They have a great selection of flowers and plants for every season and the staff is always very helpful. Gerardi’s makes me feel like I’m not on Staten Island while I’m there, but in a farm stand out in Long Island or upstate.

Great place to purchase fresh produce. They also seemed to have a great selection of plants for the garden along with decorations. I am planning on going back in the Spring to see. Easy to get to on your way to the ferry, not far from St. George ballpark.

we were here again as soon as power was restored in our area after Sandy’s disastrous visit. our usual haunts for food shopping were either flooded and crowded, so we opted to drive to the west side of Staten Island, where we’re assured we’ll have fresh food supplies. we’ve been here many times before but this time, the place looked more lovely and more appealing to us. we bought vegetables, plus milk, eggs. on previous occasions, we bought some decorative plants from the nursery that’s located right across the street — -you have to be careful in crossing as cars come from both directions. i know they close their operations during winter time (or maybe that’s what we think as we’ve never been here during winter time, but we can always verify that one way or another). it’s worth the visit as the owners and workers seem to know you personally.

Just purchased a dozen huge Emerald Greens and more and had them planted by the owner and his hard working crew. They did a great job placing the trees with over sized root balls and they have all the proper gear to do this. I highly recommend them for the quality of their plants and their workmanship.

This farmer’s market is by far the best in Staten Island. The staff is friendly and helpful and the prices are very reasonable! Not quite the same selection of the Union Square Farmer’s Market in Manhattan, but you can get what you need here. Too bad they are only seasonal, because they really do have good produce here.

Quality produce at a great price. It’s a little out-​of-​the-​way but that’s just the Staten Island way.
I’m glad they’re open again. One time I walked 25 min (round trip) to get some stuff over the winter and was not too happy when I found no one there… but that was my fault and they are open ¾ seasons.

WHAT?! $ 17 for 3 bags of fresh fruits and veggies. I will go out of my way to come back here! This place is family owned and it’s a real farmer’s market since they actually own a farm in Jersey. They also have a huge selection of beautiful flowers and plants. The staff is very helpful as well. Don’t miss out.
