History

Established in 2011.

Bin 5 opened its doors on June 23, 2011. Formerly Aesop’s Tables, this 3 time Michelin-reccomended restaurant specializes in true craft cocktail and cuisine. Executive Chef Steven D. Smith specializes in Italian cuisine with an American spin. The cocktails and wine selections are always handled with care. We hope you enjoy a vibrant, comfortable and upscale experience with the Bin 5 family.

Meet the Manager

Danny I.

Manager

Danny had originally gone to school for music education at NYU, specializing in jazz studies. As a natural byproduct of being a New York City musician, he always found it necessary to bartend and to wait tables to make ends meet. Shortly after Bin’s grand opening, Danny was asked to manage the tiny 40-seater. With his degree in his pocket, he realized a growing passion for the restaurant industry and went on to manage Bin for three years. In June of 2014, Danny took a year off from Bin to work in various other New York City locations, specifically, a four month stint at the Michelin-starred, Lincoln Ristorante in Lincoln Center. After working with some of the city’s best bartenders and managers, ferociously reading any wine and cocktail book that he could obtain, and being exposed to many different styles of New York City restaurant service, Danny knew that he was ready to return to Bin 5 to bring a new kind of dining experience to Staten Islanders.
