Specialties
Tahoe Douglas Christian Preschool was established to serve a need in our community: to provide Early Childhood Education to children in a Christian environment. It is our goal to meet the needs of each child in attendance. The areas of development include: spiritual, emotional, social, physical and mental (or cognitive). Each of these is taught in a warm, pleasant, loving and nurturing way that allows the child to develop to his/her fullest capabilities and potential.
History
Established in 1983.
This Preschool was a part-time only preschool, at first. There was a need in the community for a quality, full-time preschool. In 1989 Tahoe Douglas Christian Preschool became a full-time program, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. We have three separate classrooms: age 2/3s (Woolies), age ¾s (Lambs) and age 4/5s (Sheep). Each class is based on a low teacher/student ratio: 2 teachers to 12 – 14 students, which is lower than the state allows.
