Description

Specialties

The Make Space is your community workspace, local tool library, awesome hands-on classroom, and open studio available to everyone at no charge. It’s a not-for-profit environment tailored to people who enjoy creating things and sharing knowledge; be it coding, robotics, gardening, painting, cryptography, and everything in-between.

We also offer several free classes about various technologies, including how to use the on-site RepRap 3D printers, indoor gardening with LEDs and aquaponics, do-it-yourself RC drones, and much more. Classes are usually held as a result of an expressed interest, so if there is something that you would like to learn or teach, let people know! Folks here are pretty much always willing to share their skills.

History

Established in 2012.

Initially founded as the Innoblue Garage in 2011, ownership was handed off to the Make Space founders in 2012. They took the focus off of entrepreneurship, and made the space more of a «pure» hackerspace and community workshop.

Meet the Manager

Clinton J.

Manager

I’m a web developer living in State College, Pennsylvania. I’ve been programming my entire life, and a Rails developer for the last 5 years. I teach several classes at the hackerspace, and frequently lead the State College Ruby Group. I’m also partially responsible for several of the larger art installations in the window, to attract new faces to the hackerspace.
