Insomnia Cookies

Awful delivery via OrderUp. Placed the order at 10:30, waited around for an hour and a half before calling it quits and going to bed. Was then awoken by my roommate at 12:30 am saying the order had come. At that point I wasn’t even in the mood for them, and just went back to sleep. I’m upset I left a tip at the time of payment. Get your delivery issues worked out.

It is an interesting concept in a college town. Got crowded very quickly. Cookies were good, but nothing special. They reminded me a lot of the cookies from the places in the malls that used to be in every food court. They were expensive per cookie and had a wide variety of ordering options.
Good to try, but perhaps for the younger crowd.

I love that this place is open very late, as it should be with a college town. The cookies are good, but ‘nothing to write home about’. Expensive per cookie, but they deliver and it’s easy to order. I’ve had deliveries in the past, and I stopped in one time as well.
Sometimes the cookies are a little underdone in the middle (especially the peanut butter cookies), but perhaps some people like that? To me, I’d rather my cookies have a chewy and crispy consistency than fat and doughy. For example, I’d prefer cookies from the Wegman’s bakery ten fold over Insomnia Cookies.
But I digress, because I appreciate this place being here in town, and do enjoy grabbing something from here once every few months. My favorite is the Snicker-​doodle.

It should be illegal for cookies to be so delicious. I ordered delivery and… omg. The chocolate chunk cookies (at 1 am mind you) were freshly baked, warm and so so good. They deliver milk if you so choose to order some. The ice cream is great. The cookies just look, smell and taste like freshly home baked goods. Prices are a bit high, but if you really want mediocre cookies for a cheap price, go to the grocery store. If you want heaven in your mouth, go to Insomnia.

I’ve been getting Insomnia a whole lot since I’ve been going to PSU, but tonight kind of destroyed all of my love for this place. It took the delivery guy an hour to get here. I called to see if he was coming after about 45 mins of waiting and I was put on hold for 10 mins before hanging up. Then when the driver finally showed up the cookies were cold and he forgot our milk. He said he’d run back and get our milk, but 20 mins later and he’s still not back. I’m so annoyed. I’ve never had such a terrible situation with delivery food.

This is my favorite place in the world. I’m glad I decided to visit Penn State and get some cookies. I ordered the peanut butter cookie and S’mores cookies. They were freshly baked and soft in the center… Just how a cookie should be.

Cookies are just awesome. Everyone likes them. For me, Insomnia Cookies is a perfect light gift idea, too. I always order extra one or two cookies for me.

Cookies and milk delievered right to your door, and at a great price cannot go wrong! You can also order online or by phone with pick up also being an option. Not In the mood for a big box delivery? Walk in available with different cookie options. You can make it a Sundae, ice cream is available as well if you wanted to step it up to a milk shake. If you’re in the mood for a cheap, but absolute fresh quality, go here. Being open very late (especially during finals week) is also a huge plus.

A sweet tooth must have. I ordered a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. It was warm and gooey.

I’ve ordered from them twice.
The first time, I ordered late (maybe around 1:30), and expected to get my food late. However, when the time crept closer to closing time, I started to get worried. Then, I get a call saying that their driver’s car broke down, so there’s no way they can deliver the final deliveries of the night.
This puzzled me, as I was on the phone with a human being, who theoretically owned a car. Or who worked with someone who owned a car. I just figured that if they really wanted to finish up their deliveries, they would’ve found a way. But whatever. It’s their business model. So, I agreed to get my food first thing the next afternoon, and the food was fine.
As the food was fine, I decided to give this business another chance. I placed another order. This one was for a cookie and a quart of ice cream. Delivery was within a reasonable time, the cookie was great. But the ice cream… The ice cream was AWFUL. Some of it tasted fine, but some of it tasted, like it was freezer burned. To top it off, there were these huge chunks of ice all throughout the ice cream. So, I can only assume I got a batch of their oldest, least mixed ice cream.
All in all, this place is not worth the price or the hassle. If I want ice cream and cookies, from now on I’ll just go to Weis instead of blowing my money on this mess. Two thumbs down.

A perfect solution to send loved ones a gift when they are away at college! Great selection and the fact that they deliver according to the squirrelly schedules of college students is brilliant! We ordered 5 large cookie cakes and they wrote on each one a part of the birthday greeting! We added 3 quarts of ice cream and it was like a small party delivered at any time up til 4am! Huge huge epic success, will nourish my son and his roommates until at least the weekend… maybe! Great customer service!

Absolutely terrible service! I ordered cookies (delivery) at 10:22 P.M. and at 12:22 they still didn’t arrive. I called to cancel my order. Two hours and no cookies. That is unacceptable. According to the online order service, the wait was 45 – 60 minutes. And, the online tracker said my cookies were «baking» for 2 hours. I’ve had their cookies before. They are certainly better than store bought, processed cookies, but they are definitely NOT worth a 2+ hour wait.

S’mores cookie is TA DIE FOR. Freshly baked for that winning combo of hot/​soft cookies coupled with cold ice cream. Lots of flavors to satisfy that moment’s cravings. Who can argue with their hours and delivery option? All involved w insomnia cookies, vendor and customer alike, are winning

If you have a sweet tooth or are in love with cookies, then you have certainly come to the right spot. Insomnia Cookies seems to be near every large college campus, and Penn State is definitely not overlooked in this process. This cookie spot is located on the east side of campus, near the Starbucks and Uncle Chen. Don’t worry too much about parking because there’s plenty of spots in the shopping center. If you get lazy, don’t fret, they also deliver via LionMenus.
As far as the cookies go, they are baked fresh throughout the day. Once you order your cookie for $ 1.25, the guy literally pulls it out of the over and hands it to you. It comes out with your crispy cookie edge, but soft and chewy center. With the chocolate chip cookies, the chocolate is literally melting as you eat. Ok, so if chocolate chip is not your cookie of choice, then they also have everything from oatmeal raisin to a simple sugar cookie. On top of all the cookies, they also serve drinks like milk, as well as some ice cream. This is seriously a place where you can put some serious punishment to your stomach.
Make sure to eat at your own risk. If you don’t watch out, pretty soon you’ll jump from a size 30 waist to a 40, and will sweat chocolate while you walk. This place is open late, so for all that need a desert at 2am, you’re in luck.

Whoever came up with the idea for Insomnia Cookies is a genius. I remember seeing a special on Food Network about them before I moved to State College, and was ecstatic when I heard that there was one just down the street from my apartment. The cookies are delicious and the delivery doesn’t seem to take too long — usually around 30 to 45 minutes. I love that there is a wide selection of sweets to choose from: cookies of all varieties, brownies that can be customized (you can add pretty much anything from cookie dough to rainbow sprinkles), pints or quarts of ice cream, brownies and cookies a la Mode, cookie cakes, and the very necessary pints and quarts of milk.
My ordering experiences haven’t been the greatest, hence the 4-​star review. Even though there are three ways to order (

and 1−877−63-COOKIE), something always goes wrong. For some reason, I can never submit orders via the main website. And sadly, there is no option to use a gift card on
. Tonight I had to order by calling the hotline. The woman I spoke to had no idea what she was doing. I had to repeat my order multiple times because she kept refreshing the page and had to enter my information over and over again. However, she was very nice and apologized for the inconvenience. Of course, my order arrived after a short time and all was right with the world. =]

So you ask yourself why come here?
Plain and simple… there is nothing better than a warm cookie straight out of the oven. Whether it is during limited hours during the summer, or a 1AM craving for chocolate chunk, sugar, or oatmeal, they always have cookies in their warmer.
Service is about what you can expect at a cookie place in a college town, but generally there isn’t a line and you can get in and out quickly.
You even can get ice cream if you want… though I am generally just picking up a few cookies.

There’s nothing better than eating a cookie that’s pulled right out of the oven at 1am.
Yes, as the name implies this is the place to go during the wee-​early-​morning hours.
I love the S’mores cookies which is a little more expensive than the general chocolate chip cookie.
You can even buy two cookies with ice cream and make an ice cream sandwich.
If you go during 4p-​6p (?) the cookies are buy one get one free!

There really isnt anything «special» about these cookies. They are your average yummy (probably could be picked up right off the pillsburry self) cookies, and that is not a complaint, just a fact. But here is the amazing part– They are delivered to your door, fresh and hot to trot at all hours. I’ve heard rumor that you can also find Insomnia is the library, but I’m not actually in college, or even attend PENN so I have no idea. I was just visiting for a weekend and found this gem— a gem I wish someone would put in DC. hint… hint … hint: D

Great cookies, which are always fresh and hot. Very inexpensive, as cookies go for just $ 1 a piece. Offers many different varieties of cookies. The brownies are also very good. Wouldn’t recommend going there to chill while eating a cookie. Not much of an atmosphere. They do deliver, but I find the cookies are even better if you go to the store itself and then take them back home with you.

Delicious cookies when your just craving a hot, gooey fresh-​outta-​the-​oven cookie. Inexpensive too — good portion for $ 1. Offer flavors such as Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip, Double Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisen, Snickerdoodle, etc… Also serve brownies, Hershey’s ice cream, and cupcakes. Not much atmosphere, but no need. The workers are interesting… but always very pleasant. Yum.
