We specialize in custom glasses, sunglasses, and contact lens fitting. We carry thousands of styles, colors, and sizes!

We have an on sight lab to increase the speed of delivery and quality.

If you need a new prescription for your current frames, we can cut the lenses on site while you wait.

History

Established in 2005.

The roots of Happy Valley Optical date to the early 60’s when Bob Nace began working in State College as an Optician. In the early 80’s he opened Bob Nace Optician on Beaver Ave. In 2003 Scott began working with Bob and took over as the owner in 2005. Bob continued to work for Happy Valley Optical until he retired in 2008. Happy Valley Optical has been serving its customers in Downtown State College in some capacity for a very long time!

After taking over Bob Nace Opticain in 2005, we relocated to 208 South Allen Street. We offer appointments for glasses or contact lenses. We are able to deliver contacts within 2 business days, and glasses very quickly!

I would rate my overall experience as a 4.5÷5.
They have a solid line of services with knowledgeable professionals on duty. They are efficient with time and have reasonable customer service. I’m used to getting bargain deals at ForEyes, so most of their selection were too pricey for my taste.
This was my first time buying glasses by myself, so naturally I was very inexperienced as a buyer. The mistake that I had made was that I did not ask for the price totals and ended up with an unpleasant surprise when I came to pick up my glasses. While living off of a limited budget determined by my parents, I had to get my money back. Even though the store policy was store credit only The store owner was compassionate enough to give me a full-​refund.
I would strongly recommend this store.

I would recommend that you are aware of the policies and warranties of the products that you purchase from Happy Valley Optical. I was recommended certain lens that did not work for my eyes, then the lens were replaced with a cheaper pair, which they would not refund the difference in cost, which was a big difference. They are the professional in their industry and should take responsibility if they make a mistake with their recommendation and give the client customer satisfaction…

I just love Happy Valley Optical! The staff and Dr. Dutt are experienced and friendly and will take the time to explain options to you. I’ve always felt that my family and I were well taken care of.
As someone on a limited budget, the staff has been more than helpful in breaking down costs for me and never tries to hard sell bells and whistles I don’t really need.

Well, I haven’t gone here as a patient (I’m a student and visit my optometrist back home), but I just stopped in because my glasses were crooked and driving me crazy. The woman (I’m guessing she’s the optometrist too) was very nice and friendly and helped fix my crooked glasses right away so I thought I’d write a favorable review.

As a student, Happy Valley Optical is in a very convenient location on Allen Street across from the Library. The staff is very friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. The Doctor is so friendly and definitely knows what she is doing. They also have quite the selection of eyewear. As a contact lens wearer, their service is great. I can order a new box of contacts, and they will be in next day! Also they have great hours as well as some Saturday hours and I can always get an appointment right away. If your in need of a local Optometrist — this is the place to go!
