The NOAH Adoption & Spay/Neuter Center

Was confused at how to view the animals and when I asked for help, they seem hurried and annoyed. Receptionist was too busy reading than helping. Will most likely not make the 30+ miles trip again.

I am seriously disappointed in this place. For an establishment that is there to help relocate unwanted animals to homes where they can be loved they do a poor job at it. I feel I would have had a better experience getting a cat from a box outside the grocery store. I have currently gotten two cats from here (the first I regrettably had to return). With my first experience my wife and I got a kitten who was 8 weeks old. She was very cute and we liked her a lot. That was until we went to the vet to use the «free vet visit» and were told not only did our cat have ear mites but also it could not see in the dark. Aside from the fact they spayed her at such a young age and I know ear mites are common in cats that young we were also told she had feline herpes. All of these things should have been caught and disclosed to us. So being that we aren’t home much and aren’t able to care for a kitten with these issues we took her back. We waited several weeks and adopted another cat, this time a year old one. So any health issues would be found and known, or so we thought. Again with the ear mites and a huge vet bill. I feel like they don’t check the heath of these poor animals well enough or at even. Never will I come here again and I will tell everyone I know not too as well until they start to take care of these animals like they should. I don’t even want to get on the subject of the rude employees either…

Based on the reviews I read about NOAH, I was expecting a better experience. We visited on both a Saturday and Sunday, and the workers definitely felt like they had more important things to do than help us find a second dog. We wanted to meet two dogs, and each time, our «matchmaker» disappeared for extended periods of time and was unavailable to answer questions or to help. Maybe they were short-​staffed this weekend, but it was not a very friendly visit. We’ll be visiting other shelters in the area instead as we look to find a second dog to adopt for our home.

We tried to adopt from our local humane society and were treated poorly there for no apparent reason.
We then went to NOAH where we were able to interact with the animals and when we were interested in adopting they were very happy to help us and treated us like adults. Everyone there is very friendly and truly has a passion for animals. We ended up with two little bundles of joy and they are very happy in their new home! It was a perfect match!

We just adopted a puppy from NOAH a few days ago but we had visited several times before that. Everyone that works there is super friendly and really takes the time to tell you everything about the animals you are interested in. They are truly interested in matching the perfect pet to the perfect family (must be why they are called matchmakers)
So glad we found NOAH! They are by far the best shelter I’ve ever visited! Very clean, cozy rooms without bars, and great staff! I could go on forever!

Great place to adopt a dog or cat. Facility is so clean and animals well taken care of while they are there; and the animals are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, microchipped and treated for fleas… what more could you ask for! The staff works hard to ensure you are leaving with the animal that is a good fit for you and your family. We’ve adopted two dogs and couldn’t be happier with our choice.

I took my dog here today to their low cost spay/​neuter clinic… The staff was EXCELLENT!!! No complaints!!! I was able to have my dog spayed, microchipped, flea treated, and vaccinated here!!! They finished her procedure early and I was able to pick her up sooner!!! They even left me a voicemail to let me know she was doing great and resting until I arrived to pick her up… They also sent me home with pain meds to keep her comfortable while she healed… I can’t say enough wonderful things about the experience… AMAZING place… AMAZING staff!!!

I’ve adopted two dogs from NOAH and volunteered here. It’s a pretty fantastic place. I had good experiences both times I adopted and had a blast volunteering there. My only complaint is one of my dogs came down with a severe health problem that caused us to have to rehome her. (Long story short, dog with severely underdeveloped back legs that is horribly clumsy does not mix with a two story hardwood townhouse) I emailed NOAH asking for advice on places I could take her where she could be found another home and never received a response or any kind of acknowledgement that the dog was obviously not healthy. I ended up rehomimg her myself and found her a great family where she has been able to thrive and get healthier. NOAH is a wonderful place that does wonderful things for animals but it would be nice if they were able to improve their communication. Also, they don’t take in ”Pit bulls” which I think is bizarre.

Wow this place is the best of the best. A true sanctuary for animals less fortunate. The rooms are very large and comfy and fun and colorful! Awesome animal pictures and paintings! The staff is extremely friendly and you can tell they are very passionate about their jobs. We got an adult cat from their today and they gave us a ton of information on how to take care of her it was wonderful! Please make the drive out to this amazing place it’s so worth it!

My girlfriends and I came up here on our way to the shopping outlets and it’s pretty far north (exit 215 off I-​5N). There isn’t much else around this area aside from the shelter, but it’s a good thing for the animals here. And as you pull in to this shelter, you immediately understand why many people call this place a «sanctuary» for animals to be adopted.
This no-​kill shelter can easily be seen off of I-​5 and recognized for its log cabin style buildings. But once you pull in closer, you also notice that there’s a lot of green grassy areas where the staff take the dogs out for small walks or do their business. And for cats who were used to the outdoors have a little open area (caged) that gives them access to the outside, which visitors can see to their left (and sometimes even greeted by the cats themselves!) upon entering this facility.
The staff here seems very knowledgeable and the way they organize animals is very informative. They have signs that indicate which animals were just taken in (like feral cats) and are still getting accustomed to new environments. They also have rooms of cat colonies that are labeled «door dashers» because there is a particular room full of cats that will escape for the door whenever they find the opportunity! And, there are also signs that indicate which dogs are still recovering from surgery or a cold.
The animals here seem to be very well taken care of with lots of open space for both the cats and dogs. Especially the dogs — believe me, I’ve been to the Seattle Humane Society and even though I know that the dogs are taken care of, it’s still a little depressing walking into the kennels there. But at least here, the dogs always seem content and happy with lots of room to sleep, eat, or play. They also seem to take the dogs in and out pretty frequently, too. I totally understand how busy a shelter can get from animals coming in and out of this place, but I never got the feeling that NOAH was trying to get rid of animals as soon as they can. NOAH gives off this feeling like they know that when the right time comes, there’ll be a family to take home these furry companions and until then, they have no problem keeping them at the shelter for as long as they need. The staff here do a great job getting these animals used to human interaction because we were given nothing but love from the animals we saw that day. I just wanted to take them all home because they made me so happy!!!
If you’re looking for a cat or dog, I highly recommend stopping by this place. The animals are well cared for and are looking to give you lots of love! They also have a lot of adoption events that happen pretty frequently so be sure to check out their website for those as well!

NOAH is an amazingly wonderful and heavenly place to adopt an animal. This place is truly a sanctuary for animals. The staff of volunteers are absolute animal angels who truly are devoted in helping the furry tenants find loving forever homes.
Immediately when we pulled into this property I was impressed by the beauty of the log cabin style buildings. My bf brought me here to adopt a cat for my birthday. We spent hours socializing with the many happy cats who welcomed any attention. The cat part of NOAH has many large rooms that the cats happily occupy and freely roam and climb. In the end I adopted a beautiful cat that I cant wait to come home to every night!
By adopting cats or dogs here; you’re giving shelter animals who are at a high risk for being euthanized a second chance.

We were able to find a lovely addition to our family on one of our visits thanks to the care and assistance of the staff to help you find the right pet for you.
The biggest challenge is to get there! EXIT 215 on I-​5

The team at N.O.A.H. was extremely patient and helpful. We had been looking at getting a dog for a while, and decided to go. There were 4 German Shepherd puppies that had just arrived. We were able to go in and find which pup «picked us». After we found the right dog for us, they sat with us and discussed the responsibilities of raising a puppy, and all the work that was required. They wanted us to be sure that we were ready for the responsibilities. I appreciated their emphasis on the big decision we were making. I also appreciated the follow up phone call about a month later, where they called to check in on us and our now 3 month old puppy. Everything has been going very well, and I’m very happy with our experience. N.O.A.H. staff members were knowledgeable, straightforward, and very helpful, ensuring to answer our questions, without misleading, influencing our decisions or rushing us. I’d recommend N.O.A.H. to anyone!

I absolutely loved all the dogs. and my mom and I adopted a few…
they take dogs who are great animals from shelters who are about to put them down and give them a second chance at life!
Every dog we had adopted from was so happy and we knowingly adopted one who had seizures, who lived for a much longer time than was anticipated :) he lived to be 7 years old and we were told he wouldnt live past 4 .
they are a non profit organization who only want to help animals :) and i loved walking dogs and cleaning and feeding them a few times a week
I believe every shelter should be more like them. It is very stressful for an animal to be in an animal shelter for long periods of time and themore comfort and joy you can bring to them is what makes them happier :) and easier to adopt out :)

This is one of the more ridiculous places I’ve ever been. It appears to be a haven for old black dogs who fortunately are living our their end in luxury. The amount of money poured into this place is incredible (must be a tax write-​off or something). I call it the Dog-​Mahal. Oh, and least I forget, it somehow qualifies as a «tourist attraction» and gets a State-​funded sign on the freeway! Go figure.

I’ve had two experiences with this shelter, and I’m torn. My late husband agreed we could get a dog for my birthday and we went here to adopt one. We found a lovely black lab, possibly husky, possibly australian shepard mix. She has been amazing, she does have extreme separation anxiety problems and can’t be left alone unless crated, and it’s very hard on her, which they did down play. She did have some health problems such as a cuspid tooth that needed to be removed (very expensive) because she had apparently been left in a crate too long by her previous owners and pulled on the bars with her teeth, she had a few tumors that turned out to be fatty, but overall I really wouldn’t complain about my experiences with Opee, she has turned out to be a great dog. But I also adopted a Rottweiler from N.O.A.H. and was never told about her aggression problems with other females, which was a problem because I already had two. She was a really great dog and I fell in love, but unfortunately I had to find a new home for her after she almost took off my yellow labs ear a few times. It was extremely costly as N.O.A.H. wouldn’t take her back, and I had to board her to keep all the dogs involved safe until I could find her a great home with a dog lover that didn’t have any dogs yet… not easy. N.O.A.H. wasn’t very helpful with that. And she too came to me with medical problems I wasn’t told about such as ear infections. I’m not sure if I just had a few bad experiences, or if they just look amazing but might be concealing a few things. I can’t hate them because they’ve given me an amazing dog, but I don’t think I would go back here either.

I wish all animal shelters were like this. We didn’t go over to the cat side, so I can’t comment on that, but this animal shelter was amazing and we will go there again when it’s time for our next pet. The animals were happy! They were very well cared for and clearly the people volunteering and working here love those animals and the animals love them.
The moment you walk in, it’s like walking into a lodge or upscale hotel. It’s just a beautiful place. There’s a desk where you are greeted and they ask you if you’re looking for a dog or cat so they can point you in the right direction. There’s even art on the walls (donated, just like everything else there).
There are no bars separating the animals, but rather they’re like little rooms where one wall is glass so you can see them. Everything is well lit and clean. They post notes on the glass detailing everything they know about the animal. There are holes in the wall so you can interact with the animals and see what he/​she is like.
There is no pressure to adopt and the environment is just very pleasant. You take a walk around, look at the animals, maybe interact with them, and if you want to adopt one, you just go right back to the desk up front and tell them the animal’s name. They’ll call another person up to help you with the adoption paperwork, give you a bunch of coupons for animal stuff, tell you where to go for a free vet exam, and then they’ll ask you if you need or want to buy any stuff from the gift shop before you leave.
There’s no pressure to buy anything from the gift shop. They have dog food there, but the person told us that there was a bunch of coupons for free dog food in the giant coupon book she had handed to us. They sell very high quality cat/​dog stuff there for a reasonable price. When we mentioned that we wanted a leash, she recommended a specific brand that has a lifetime warranty, even if it’s chewed.
There is an off leash dog park there and walking trails. I’ve never gone to these, but they were exercising the NOAH dogs there when we dropped by. They even have dog training classes. It really is a place to go for the entire dog ownership experience and to ensure that your relationship with your dog is a pleasant one.
The dog we adopted, Manda, was very sad when she realized that she wasn’t going back to NOAH (how often does that happen when you bring a dog home from an animal shelter?!), but adjusted to our home quickly and is now a very much loved part of the family. There was no BS’ing from the NOAH folks about why she had been surrendered (twice!) and they told us that she was a leash puller the moment we said we were interested in her. She’s a 100 pound Husky mix, so I can see why that might be a problem for some people. They want to make sure you’re as good a fit for the dog as the dog is for you. They will take back an animal if it’s not a good fit.
This is a no-​kill shelter. They only take animals from other shelters who are about to be euthanized.
